"Yes, he is our eldest brother in the family." Femi responded with deep disssapointment.
But how did she get to know my brother? A man who loves ladies, and changes them like wrappers. Ha, how can my brother do this to me? And he never mentioned anything to me. Oh my God, I saw Anu's brother and did not notice. I recalled that day, when he brought the young boy, he claimed he just adopted him. I was so busy and couldn't look at him.
The boy greeted me like he knew me, but my attention was taken away by a call from my place of work. I could not have time to look at his face. Oh my God, my brother is taking care of Anu to marry her. He mentioned that he has seen his wife now.
A young, respectful lady going to the university. Where on earth did they meet? No, I will not allow him to marry my wife. Femi thought in his heart.
"Femi, Femi! What's the problem now?" Anu asked, tapping him on his shoulder.
"Definitely, he is troubled. I feel we should leave you two alone to sort out yourselves." Righteous voiced out.
Meanwhile, Happiness took his sister, Happy away, to attend lectures.
"Listen Anu, I have to be frank with you. I have intention of marrying you. I have always loved you and cannot think of another woman to settle down with. Hmm, please I need to know something.
"I am not thinking of another man in my life. I'm married to Bayo. He is the father of my child."
"You cannot settle down with that bastard!" Femi yelled.
"Hey take it easy Femi. We will settle this another time. I need to go for my lectures now. Thank you for coming."
"Are you not hungry? Let's go to a restaurant to munch now!" Femi asked.
"There is no need please. I'm not in the mood for this."
"It means you do not appreciate my coming to check on you."
"Why not? I appreciate you, and …. Never mind let's forget it."
"Does it mean you do not feel anything for me?" Femi asked, pressing further so as to get her attention.
"Femi, you have numerous girlfriends, and I know some of them. You are a playboy. Let's just be friends. It's dangerous to play with fire. Whatever you will not taste, you should not smell."
"Listen that was then. Now I am of age to settle down. I need a woman like you. I have changed."
"Wow, can a leopard change his skin? I doubt this. Let's just be friends."
"Okay now, I will go for now. I will chat you up later. Let me be on my way then. Can you give me a hug again?"
"No, that's enough!" Righteous came from nowhere to halt the conversation.
They both turned to see her near them.
Anu hissed at her for breaking the rules.
"How many times have I told you to stop pestering me? I am of age and can take care of myself. Leave this place immediately." Anu screamed at Righteous.
"Not on your life, boss. I have responsibility to see that you do the right thing."
"Why are you this stubborn?"
"No, I'm not. You are the stubborn one here."
"Okay, Miss Righteous, I'm leaving now." Femi turned and went straight to his vehicle packed under the mahogany tree.
"Hmm, Anu, sister Anu, please be careful. Define your Relationship with Femi and the brother. Hmm, both are going to be at logger heads now. I don't envy you my sister. This is going to be a tale of, 'Two brothers, One bride'. It will not be easy for you. Not that I am jealous of you, but I want to warn you to be very careful with both of them."
"Honestly, I love you my sister Righteous but this your overrighteousness is appalling. You are becoming a pest. Ha ha, go your way now." She yelled at her in deep anger.
Then a call came through for her, as she picked up, she heard someone shouting,
"Please, are you, Anu, the girlfriend of Femi Badmus? Come quickly, he has an accident. I will text the address of the hospital at Molete to you. Hurry and come over."
"Accident! Hahaha!" Anu screamed. She could not believe that Femi Badmus that left the campus just now is in the hospital. What a world!
"This is serious my sister. I cannot afford to leave you alone. We will go together. But what is wrong with this man? Who invited him here?
See the problem he has caused us now." Righteous cried.
Anu was confused about everything. How can he tell them that she is his girlfriend?You wonder why this should be happening to her.
Both ladies rushed to the hostel to boil water, get some provisions to go to the hospital.
They got there and saw Femi on the hospital bed with bandages, bruises all over his body. His eyes, mouth, swollen beyond recognition. He laid on the bed looking at Anu like a moron.
