Chapter 35 EPISODE THIRTY-FIVE

As Barrister Babajide Badmus turned to leave her ward,, in the hospital, Anu who was fully stabilized, got up and held his trouser,
"Please, I plead for mercy. You have been so good to me and I cannot bear this look on your face."
He stopped, with a sober look, raised Anu up and gazing into her eyes, he uttered in his deep, rich voice, "I'm sorry for disbelieving you. You are a beautiful lady, inside out. I know that everyone wants to have a taste of the pudding. Please, keep yourself for me!"
Anu beheld his face, and bolts of lightning struck her heart. She started to shiver, and couldn't understand herself any more. Babajide held her to be sure she is alright.
"So this is what you came to do here, isn't it?"
Femi growled from behind.
They were wrapped up in their world, oblivious of the presence of Righteous or the environment, not until Femi intruded their intimacy.
They both turned around to see him, his face contorted, and his hand folded into a fist as if he would fight the two of them.
"You slut, I came all the way from Lagos to see you in Ile-Ife, couldn't see you there, got a wind of information that you had become a medical student at University of Ibadan, risked my life on the bad roads, and bandits on the way to see the one that made my heart to beat.
I left you in peace without molestation. The result was bruised face, bruised body and now this, a bruised ego. Why will you prefer my elder brother? Why Anu! Money, fame!" He shook his head and was about leaving the room, when Anu responded.
"Did I ever tell you that I love you? I know that you desire me, but I have always tell you that I wanted to study first. I have never given you an impression that I needed you in my life, have I?"
"You liar! You are despicable! When your mom sent you away in the evening, I saw you and took you into my room. Did I take advantage of you? No, I didn't do it. I could have been your first by now.
Leaving you was a big mistake of my life. I could have had my way, before that beast pounded on you. You are irritating me now!" He screamed.
"Thank you very much, Femi. I'm grateful to you. You did more for me, which I did not deserve. Surely I appreciated you, but I think I do not deserve your love at all. You deserve a better lady, not a worthless one like me. I'm sorry. " Anu spoke with a trembling voice, a voice that sent pain into the heart of everyone around.
Tears welled up in her eyes, she had been holding it in, but couldn't any more.
Babajide, moved by her words, touched her shoulder briefly. Femi kept quiet and couldn't talk again.
Righteous her bestie shouted,
"No, you are not worthless. Mary Magdalene was a worse woman, she met Jesus and her life changed. No, you are a virtuous woman. Keep on, keeping yourself. You two should leave her alone. Can't you see, that she's loosing it."
Righteous grabbed her hand and picked their things to leave immediately to campus.
"Please, let me have the honour of taking you back to campus, Ladies." Babajide implored.
"Sir, there is no problem, but you know that Anu cannot marry you or your brother." Righteous declared with a gentle smirk.
Babajide choked with laughter! And finally uttered,
"Ha ha, you this naughty girl! What do you mean?"
"You are saying nonsense, as far as I am concerned. This lady is too nosey for my liking. Are you Anu?" Femi responded without blinking an eye.
"Well, I may be nosey, Femi, but I am watching my sister's back. She cannot marry an unbeliever. Do you know that a lady must be careful who she gives her full authority to? Once given, cannot be retrieved till death separate them.
Many ladies are suffering today because the man does not have the fear of God. Anu suffered tremendously before the Lord used the two of you at different times.
Now she needs to know the mind of Christ before accepting any man. The other one was forced on her. Though they were not legally married. Let's think about this."
"Hmmm, you have a point dear, but is it wrong to reap where you sow? After all the bible says that, A man will reap what he sows." Babajide argued.
"Yes sir, you will reap the good done to Anu. Not necessarily in marriage, but God will reward you. That you sponsor someone is not a license for Marriage sir. God instituted Marriage and we should go to him for confirmation. As many as are led by the spirit of God,are sons of God." Righteous replied.
"I'm happy that you used the word, not necessarily. Is it a sin to marry someone you trained?" Babajide continued.
Dear reader, thank you for your time.
Look forward to the next chapter.
