"Hey, ore(friend) today was powerful, I quite enjoyed the warm fellowship. And of course, the insightful word from the speaker, Mrs Mabel Samuel." Anu rushed to her bestie, Righteous to talk, her face was lit with joy, full of excitement, holding her friend's hand.
"Listen to me please. I will like us to meet one man you have.., I mean, we have been desirous to meet." Righteous ignored her excitement and spoke.
"And who is that important personality? Ha, I will rather meet the guest speaker than anyone at this moment, but it seems a lot of people have crowded her. It's her time to shine. Let's wait for the crowd to dismiss and then we go for her."Anu replied, bending down to pick up her bag that had slipped from her hand.
"Yes of course, bestie. Just follow this time around. Trust my judgement." Before Anu could protest, she held her properly, and she had no choice than to follow, sheepishly.
"Here we here, meet the special, godly, doctor that treated you at the hospital". Righteous uttered with sarcasm.
Anu stood in front of Doctor Samuel with her mouth agape, her eyes dialating right and left, hands folded. Her shock was too real to be true. Here was the man who almost defile her again.
You needed to be there to see the doctor. He was equally stupefied, but being a man, he quickly recollected himself, and managed a wear a plastic smile, by stretching out his hand to greet both Righteous and Anu.
"Wow,wow! how nice to see you ladies. I'm glad to know that you are Christians. God bless you." Doctor Sam greeted warmly, but deeply afraid right inside him. To be candid, his heart was beating very fast.
I hope these ladies will not expose me before my wife. Oh my God! What entered into me last week? Oh, the devil tempted me, and I fell flat.
A highly respected Deacon in the Church! How will my pastor react if he finds out? I was made the chairman of Marriage committee last month.
Everyone believe that our marriage is perfect,but it's not. We are living like hypocrites. See where this woman pushed me to? Ha, I'm so ashamed of myself.
"Sir, you've been holding my hand for some minutes. Can you let go, please!" Righteous protested.
"Good evening sir, it's nice to know that you have a beautiful, and intelligent, woman of God." Anu responded to his greetings, having recollected herself.
I can't believe that this man with a great woman like this can commit adultery, talkless of r*pe. Ha ha, what pushed this man into this? Could it be that he is sexually starved. Hmm, it could be gluttony. Men are natural adulterer.
"Ladies, em- em, I mean you sisters should follow me to the car. Let's leave my wife to attend to the people who want to see her." Dr Sam quickly said, and started to walk outside the hall used for the occasion.
Anu and Righteous followed him outside.
"Can you see that the man is not proud of himself. He wanted us to move away from his dear wife." Righteous uttered.
"Of course yes, our presence is more than enough to cause a deep crack in their home.What do you expect? He knows that he is in for it. Someone could make money out of him, you know."
"See ore(friend) this man has no deep Relationship with his wife." Righteous declared with conviction.
"Haha, how do you know? Stop being…." Anu could not complete his statement.
"Where are you going to honey?" Mrs Samuel Mabel asked the husband, when she discovered he was going away. A sensitive lady I guess.
"Oh sweetie, I am going outside to get some fresh air. This place is a bit stuffy." He lied to his wife.
"Hypocrite, listen to the pathetic liar." Righteous uttered fuming inside.
"Let the man be, biko( please) Anu defended.
"Stay there! Defender of the universe."
He decided to stay by his Jeep car and beckoned to us to come over. He needed the fresh air because he was no longer at ease.
One needs to be more careful and not do things anyhow. People are like River. They flow here and there. You may never know when you will meet them again.
Doctor Sam cleared his throat as if it was itching him, but it was more of trying to regain his confidence. He felt so bad that he could not raise his head again for a long time.
"Sir, why did you call us here? Is it to watch your posture or what?" Righteous quickly asked. She was irritated by his behaviour.
"Haha, don't you fear God? After all no one is perfect. You have your flaws too."Anu was angry at her friend. She felt she wanted to humiliate the man, and it's uncalled for.
By the time he raised his head, they saw tears brimming from his eyes that have become red due to weeping. It was clear that he couldn't help but cry out.
As he opened his mouth to talk, the wife called out from within.
"I will be with you in a jiffy. Thank God for your patience, honey."
