Taeyong tried to run after Jae-seong but she was fast enough to disappear from the place. "Fuck", Taeyong muttered as he hurriedly called Jaehyun. "I have been calling nonstop! What took you so long? Where is she", Jaehyun started asking as soon as he picked up. "She found out. I'm sorry. She might be on her way there", Taeyong responded which made Jaehyun panic. "I'll still try to find her. But if ever, just be ready", Taeyong continued before hanging up and continued to run towards his car. "You messed up big time big guy", Taeyong muttered as he got in and started the engine. "If I were Jae-seong, where would I be", Taeyong continued to talk to himself starting to sound like a madman.
Not a few blocks passed, there he caught sight of Jae-seong who was slowly walking on the sidewalk not even paying attention to her surroundings. Taeyong then parked his car just in front of a cafe and hurriedly followed Jae-seong stealthily. Once he was sure Jae-seong was within his sight, he decided to call Jaehyun up. "What", Jaehyun asked grumpily as he answered the phone. "I found her. I'll buy time so come up with a plan as soon as possible. I will tell her and bring her there once you tell me the plan", Taeyong responded in one breath and immediately hung up. "I know you're following me", Jae-seong said a little too loudly startling Taeyong. He fell silent as Jae-seong stopped on her tracks making him stop as well. As none of them is moving nor talking, Jae-seong now decided to finally face Taeyong.
"What is it that you will tell me", Jae-seong asked making Taeyong tense up. "Let's get in the car, I promise I'll explain everything", Taeyong responded still frozen on his spot. "No", Jae-seong said firmly with a blank expression. "Why not", Taeyong asked. "Take me there", Jae-seong responded. "Fine just get in the car", Taeyong answered in defeat as he moved towards Jae-seong and held out a hand towards her. She took a second to stare at his hand before eventually taking it. As they reached the car, Jae-seong let go of his hand and looked at him with doubting eyes. "Is it me who is wrong", Jae-seong asked which confused Taeyong. "What", Taeyong asked for clarification. "With what is happening, are you all trying to protect me because I am the one who is wrong", Jae-seong asked again much clearer. "No. You're not the one who is wrong. We are trying to protect you from being wronged again", Taeyong answered which made Jae-seong smile. "Take me there and tell me everything on our way", Jae-seong said calmly before entering the car.
“Stupid Lee Taeyong”, Taeyong muttered to himself before entering the car as well. “Is it about Yuta”, Jae-seong immediately asked. “What? No”, Taeyong responded as he was surprised with Jae-seong’s sudden question. “Just figured that he’s so damn pissed”, Jae-seong just shrugged and leaned back on her seat. “Okay how can that be a danger”, Taeyong now asked making Jae-seong laugh. “You tell me being a man yourself”, Jae-seong said making Taeyong laugh as well. “Oh come on, we both know he’s not capable of that, plus, he could have just gone straight to my house”, Taeyong pointed out as Jae-seong nodded. Taeyong now informed Jae-seong of the situation and not long after, they reached school grounds.
"Don't tell Jaehyun", Jae-seong said before exiting the car and running straight for the gates. She ran as quickly as possible to the gym where Jaehyun was at. Just as she was about to enter the gym, she felt a pair of arms hold unto her torso stopping her from moving a step further. "What do you think you are doing", a familiar voice asked. "I was about to enter the gym? How about you? What do you think you are doing? Aren't you supposed to be mad at me", Jae-seong asked back sarcastically. "You shouldn't be here", was all that Yuta said before Jae-seong fully escaped his grip. "Please listen to us just this once", Yuta pleaded as he quickly grabbed Jae-seong's arm upon her escape. "I already know. You don't have to do this anymore", Jae-seong responded with a smile as she removed Yuta's grip on her forearm. Not another word, she proceeded to head inside.
"I told you she's not here", Jaehyun yelled irritatingly. "Who's not here", Jae-seong asked making the place fall silent upon her presence. "Jessica darling", her stepmom greeted her with a smile from ear to ear. "Don't call me that. And what brings you here", Jae-seong asked fiercely. "I came for you darling", she answered taking small steps towards her. "I said don't fucking call me that. Just cut to the chase and tell me what you fucking want this time", Jae-seong responded extremely pissed. "I'm taking you back to Illinois, Jessica", she said in monotone with a smug look on her face.
