"Have you gone mad? Who says I'm coming with you", Jae-seong asked. "I did. You don't have a Korean citizenship, I can take you back to Illinois whenever I want", her stepmom said in a threatening tone. "No you can't", Jae-seong responded with a blank expression. "Of course I can darling", she rebutted thinking Jae-seong was bluffing. "How can you be this dumb", Jae-seong asked laughing like she's gone crazy. "What do you mean", she asked trying to keep calm. "You aren't even my real mother to begin with. I am of legal age already which dissolves your right of being my 'legal guardian'. And inject this in that stupid brain of yours, I am carrying dual citizenship, okay? Don't even get me started on your illegal stay here", Jae-seong spitted all in one breath. "Oh that's right, you are being deported and you can't accept your defeat. Don't you have any shame for being such a freeloader? After leeching off of me and my relatives for years, you still have the nerve to try and order me around? You think I wouldn't find out", Jae-seong continued emphasizing the word ‘my’ as her friends started entering the place.
"How dare you talk to your mother that way", she asked trying to sound like the victim. "How can someone who only reaches out to me when she needs something be my mother? You don't even ask me the simplest of how my day went or how I feel. Your concern is almost non-existent to the point that you don't know I signed a contract with an entertainment company which gives you all the more reasons why you can't take me with you. Only if you have done your research then you wouldn't be looking like much of a fool than you already are", Jae-seong responded smiling. "If I were her, I would just walk away", someone said from afar which made echoes of agreeing noises. "They're right you know", Jaehyun whispered. Their stepmom fell silent and just helplessly walked away without another word and in shame.
At that moment, Jaehyun hurriedly ran towards Jae-seong and enveloped her in a hug. "I'm sorry", Jaehyun whispered. "Don't be", Jae-seong responded patting Jaehyun's back. "You shouldn't have come", Jaehyun said separating from Jae-seong. "Why? What did I miss", Jae-seong asked giggling. "Do you really wanna know", Jaehyun asked. "Duh! Of course", Jae-seong exclaimed sarcastically. "She kept saying how our dad is still alive and how he needs you right now", Jaehyun responded hesitatingly. "What bullshit is that? Does she think I am thhat dumb", Jae-seong asked face palming herself. "Apparently. She also said she has proof but will only show you", Jaehyun continued which made Jae-seong laugh. "Her bait is so weak, I can come up with something better with only half of my brain working", Jae-seong joked as she continued to laugh.
"Are you sure you are not bothered by it", Jaehyun asked visibly worried. "Of course not! That's so stupid", Jae-seong answered with a reassuring smile. "You're one tough little thing", Lucas commented as they approached the two. "Who you calling little", Jae-seong asked crossing her arms. "Who else? You of course", Lucas answered as he rested his arm on top of Jae-seong's head. "Hey! Stop that", Jae-seong exclaimed irritatingly removing his arm. "Shall we", Ten asked. "Shall we what", Lucas asked. "Go to training dumbass", Ten responded making Jae-seong laugh. "We better get going. We already have a ride waiting for us outside", Jae-seong said pointing outside. "It's obvious it's Taeyong but I'll still act surprised", Lucas said before he started walking and leading the way.
They went on their merry way to Sun. And just after their training…
"Jae, someone's looking for you", Ten called through the door as Jae-seong was packing her things. "Okay who is it this time", Jae-seong asked acting irritated. "Go see for yourself", Ten responded chuckling. "Whatever. Be out in a sec", Jae-seong said waving Ten away. Once she was done packing everything up, she slowly walked towards the door as she was already tired. She then proceeded to the lobby where her supposed visitor was waiting.
"What took you so long", Yuta asked slightly pissed. "Hello to you too", Jae-seong sarcastically responded. "Is your schedule always like this", Yuta asked. "Apparently. Now if you don't have anything important to say, I have to head home", Jae-seong answered before walking past him. Yuta caught up to her and grabbed her arm but that didn't stop her from walking out the building. "Aren't you even gonna ask me how my day went", Yuta asked still following her. "Well did you ask me how I'm feeling after my argument with my stepmom? Or if I am tired because as you can see, I visibly am", Jae-seong asked back making Yuta fall silent.
