Regine was a nursing student at the University of San Diego. She was smart, hardworking, and passionate about her studies. But there was one thing that could distract her from her studies: the basketball team. Every week, Regine would go to the Jenny Craig Pavilion to cheer on her beloved Toreros. And every week, she would find herself drawn to one player in particular: his name was James, and he was a sophomore majoring in Sports Management. James was tall and handsome, with a charming smile and a wicked sense of humor. But it was more than just his looks that attracted Regine. She was drawn to his passion for the game, his dedication to his teammates, and his positive attitude. One day, after a particularly exciting game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Regine gathered her courage and approached James. She wanted to congratulate him on his performance, but when she got close to him, she was intimidated by his aura. He was surrounded by his teammates and fans, and he seemed so confident and unattainable. Regine chickened out and walked away without saying anything. She felt disappointed in herself, but she also knew that James was out of her league. He was a popular basketball player, and she was just a regular nursing student. From that day on, Regine continued to admire James from afar. She would cheer for him at the games, but she would never approach him again. She was content to simply watch him play and marvel at his talent and charisma. One afternoon, Regine was studying in the library when she saw James sitting at a table by himself. He was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, and he was trying to blend in with the other students. But Regine recognized him immediately. Regine hesitated for a moment. She knew that she should probably just leave him alone, but she couldn't help herself. She wanted to talk to him. Regine took a deep breath and walked over to James's table. "Hi," she said. "I'm Regine." James looked up at her and smiled. "Hi," he said. "Nice to meet you." Regine sat down across from him. "I'm a big fan of yours," she said. "You were amazing in the game against Gonzaga." James blushed. "Thanks," he said. "That means a lot." They talked for a while about the game and the basketball season. Regine was surprised at how easy it was to talk to James. He was friendly and down-to-earth, and he seemed genuinely interested in what she had to say. Before they knew it, it was time for Regine to go to class. She stood up and shook James's hand. "It was really nice talking to you," she said. "Maybe I'll see you around sometime." "I hope so," James said. Regine walked away, feeling giddy with excitement. She had actually talked to James! And he seemed to like her! Regine couldn't wait to see what the future held for her and James. She knew that it was too early to say for sure, but she had a feeling that something special was about to happen. Regine walked away from James's table, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't believe that she had actually talked to him. And even more unbelievable, he seemed to like her. Regine spent the rest of the day thinking about James. She couldn't stop smiling. She had a feeling that her life was about to change forever. The next day, Regine went to the library again, hoping to see James again. She waited for over an hour, but he never showed up. She started to feel disappointed, but she didn't give up hope. The next day, and the next, Regine went back to the library, but James was never there. She started to wonder if he had forgotten about her. One day, Regine was walking to class when she saw James walking towards her. He was with his teammates, but he broke away from them and walked over to her. "Hi, Regine," he said. "How are you?" "I'm good," Regine said, trying to sound calm. "How are you?" "I'm great," James said. "I've been looking for you." "Really?" Regine asked. "Why?" "Because I want to ask you out on a date," James said. Regine's heart skipped a beat. "Really?" she asked again. "Yes," James said. "Would you like to go out with me sometime?" Regine couldn't believe her luck. She was dreaming, right? "I'd love to," she said. "Great," James said. "How about Saturday night?" "Saturday night is perfect," Regine said. James smiled. "I'll pick you up at seven o'clock," he said. And then, he turned and walked away. Regine watched him go, her heart still racing. She couldn't believe that she was going on a date with James. She had been dreaming of this day for months. Regine spent the rest of the week thinking about her upcoming date. She couldn't wait to get to know James better. She knew that he was a special guy, and she had a feeling that their date was going to be unforgettable. On Saturday night, Regine was ready for her date. She had spent hours getting ready, and she felt confident and beautiful. James arrived at Regine's dorm room at seven o'clock sharp. He was wearing a nice shirt and jeans, and he had a bouquet of flowers in his hand. "You look beautiful," he said to Regine. Regine blushed. "Thank you," she said. "You look really good too." James took Regine's arm and led her to his car. They drove to a nice restaurant downtown, and they had a delicious meal. After dinner, they went for a walk along the beach. The night was clear and cool, and the moon was shining brightly. James and Regine talked about everything and nothing. Regine learned that James was a kind and intelligent man. He was also funny and charming, and she found herself falling for him more and more with each passing minute. They walked for hours, until they were both tired. Then, they sat down on a bench and looked out at the ocean. "I had a really great time tonight," James said. "Me too," Regine said. James leaned in and kissed Regine. It was a soft and gentle kiss, and Regine felt her heart melt. When they pulled away, James smiled at Regine. "I can't wait to see you again," he said. "I can't wait to see you again either," Regine said. James walked Regine back to her dorm room. He kissed her goodnight, and then he was gone. Regine went to bed that night with a smile on her face. She knew that she had found something special in James. She couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
