Regine and James knew that Mark was a dangerous man. He had already tried to kill them both, and they knew that he would stop at nothing to get revenge. They decided that they needed to leave the village and go into hiding. They packed their bags and left in the middle of the night. They drove for hours, until they reached a small town in the mountains. They found a small hotel and checked in under fake names. They knew that Mark would be looking for them, so they were careful to keep a low profile. They didn't leave the hotel room unless they absolutely had to, and they always wore masks and sunglasses when they went outside. One day, Regine was sitting in the hotel room, watching TV. James was out getting groceries. Suddenly, she heard a knock at the door. She froze. She knew that it couldn't be James. He was still out. She stood up slowly and walked to the door. She peered through the peephole, but she couldn't see anyone. She hesitated for a moment, then she opened the door. A man was standing there. He was tall and thin, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He was wearing a black suit and sunglasses. "Regine?" he asked. Regine's heart sank. She knew who he was. "Mark," she said. Mark smiled. "It's good to see you again, Regine," he said. Regine didn't know what to do. She was trapped. "What do you want, Mark?" she asked. "I want to talk to you," Mark said. "I want to know why you killed my sister." Regine shook her head. "I didn't kill your sister," she said. "It was an accident." Mark didn't believe her. "You're lying," he said. "You know what you did." Mark took a step towards Regine. She backed away. "Don't come any closer," she said. Mark laughed. "You can't run from me, Regine," he said. "I'll always find you." Mark reached out and grabbed Regine's arm. She tried to pull away, but he was too strong. "Let go of me!" she cried. Mark dragged Regine out of the hotel room and into the hallway. He pulled her down the stairs and out the front door. Regine screamed for help, but there was no one around. Mark dragged her to his car and threw her in the back seat. He got in the driver's seat and started the car. He drove away, leaving the hotel behind. Regine knew that she was in danger. She had to find a way to escape. She looked around the back seat, but there was nothing she could use as a weapon. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. She was trapped. Mark drove for hours. He didn't say a word. Finally, he pulled over to the side of the road. He got out of the car and opened the back door. "Come on," he said. "We're here." Regine was scared, but she knew she had no choice. She got out of the car. Mark led her into a dark forest. They walked for what seemed like hours. Finally, they came to a clearing. In the middle of the clearing was a small cabin. "This is it," Mark said. "This is where you're going to stay." Mark pushed Regine into the cabin and locked the door behind her. Regine was alone. She was scared, but she was also determined to survive. She knew that she had to find a way to escape. She looked around the cabin. It was small and bare. There was a bed in the corner of the room, a table and chair in the middle of the room, and a fireplace on the other side of the room. Regine went to the window and looked out. She was surrounded by trees. She couldn't see anything but trees in every direction. She knew that she was in trouble. She was trapped in the middle of nowhere, with a dangerous man. But Regine wasn't going to give up without a fight. She was going to find a way to escape, and she was going to bring Mark to justice. Regine sat on the bed in the cabin, trying to come up with a plan. She knew that she had to get out of there, but she didn't know how. She thought about trying to escape through the window, but it was too high. She thought about trying to pick the lock on the door, but she didn't have any tools. She was starting to feel hopeless. Suddenly, she heard a noise. She froze. She listened carefully. The noise came from the door. Someone was trying to open it. Regine's heart started to race. She didn't know what to do. The door opened and Mark walked in. He was carrying a tray of food. "I brought you dinner," he said. Regine didn't say anything. She just stared at him. "What's wrong?" Mark asked. "Don't you want to eat?" Regine shook her head. "I'm not hungry," she said. Mark shrugged. "Suit yourself," he said. "But you're going to need your strength if you want to escape." Mark set the tray of food on the table and turned to leave. "I'll be back later," he said. Mark locked the door behind him and Regine was alone again. Regine looked at the tray of food. Mark was right. She needed her strength. She needed to eat. She forced herself to eat a few bites of food, then she got up and went to the window. She looked out at the trees. She knew that she had to find a way to escape. She thought about Mark's words. He had said that she would need her strength if she wanted to escape. Regine smiled. She knew what she had to do. She went to the bed and picked up a pillow. She held the pillow to her chest and started to cry. She cried for a long time. She cried for her husband, James. She cried for her family and friends. She cried for her life. But when she was finished crying, she felt stronger. She felt determined. She knew that she was going to escape. She was going to bring Mark to justice. Regine put the pillow down and went to the door. She listened carefully. She could hear Mark's footsteps moving around outside. She waited until she was sure that Mark was distracted. Then she unlocked the door and ran outside. She ran as fast as she could. She didn't look back. She ran through the forest, tripping and falling over roots and rocks. But she didn't stop. She ran until she couldn't run anymore. Then she collapsed on the ground, exhausted. She lay on the ground for a long time, catching her breath. She listened carefully, but she couldn't hear Mark. She had gotten away. She was free. Regine stood up and looked around. She didn't know where she was, but she didn't care. She was just glad to be away from Mark. She started walking. She didn't know where she was going, but she knew that she was going to find her way back to James. She was going to be okay.
