"WHAT? NO! THERE'S NO WAY I WILL MARRY THAT BRAT!" Jackson objected when what his father and brother were talking about sank into his brain.
Don Vandolf smiled broadly. "And the real challenge begins," he whispered.
"Fine. If you don't want to marry Yvette, you should brace yourself. Can you be poor? I can because that's where I come from, right? I bet you can't survive in a tiny room without any ventilation ," said Jacob.
Don Vandolf raised his eyebrows. "That was a great move. He knows his brother's weakness," he whispered.
"Do I really need to do that? Can't LNGC survive without them?" Jackson asked.
"As I said earlier, we have no choice but to marry one of you to the heir of the Marcus family. Let's not argue here. I know and you know that the La Niños Group of Companies will collapse without the investment coming from them. " Don Vandolf stood up. "It's up to you to talk. You are the only thing I'm worried about. I'm about to disappear from this world and I can't bring my foundations and wealth to the grave. You will inherit everything so you better take care of it before it drains down in the mud," said Don Vandolf.
"Jackson, think about it carefully. You can marry Yvette and still indulge in the women you're flirting with," Jacob said with a laugh.
"Can I borrow your wife too?" Jackson sneered.
Jacob's face immediately turned red when he heard it. "I won't let that happen," he said.
"Let's not fool around here, Jacob. You know I only want Freya. No one else," Jackson said without hesitation.
Don Vandolf just shook his head. "It's Freya again! Are they really not going to stop their madness?" he whispered.
"Jackson, maybe you're forgetting that Freya and I are already MARRIED. She's mine…FOR LIFE. I thought you were smart? Why don't you understand that?" Jacob laughed foolishly.
"Annulment and divorce are available, Jacob. As long as I know that Freya doesn't love you, I won't stop until I take her away from you. Now, if you want to stay in the state we have now… you must be willing to lend me your wife. I will marry Yvette if you will let me see, touch and be with your wife…anytime, anywhere," said Jackson.
Now it was Jackson who was smiling widely. He knew what Rhea Oligario's motive was. She's playing with his family. She wants revenge but he won't let her succeed. In spite of that, he will not allow that he will not get anything if he follows the wishes of his father and his brother. He knows an easier way to solve his family's problem but he won't tell them because he doesn't want them to know that Freya is an heiress...the true heir to her mother Rhea's wealth.
"You are crazy, Jackson! What kind of husband would allow someone else to taste and borrow his wife? If you don't want to marry Yvette, we can't just suffer the same! As I said earlier, I'm used to life being hard and I'm not afraid to go back to that state. You can't fool me, my dear brother. I know you're cunning but I hope you also know that I'm also cunning," Jacob insisted.
Don Vandolf took a deep breath. How will he fix the company of his two children? He can no longer remove Freya from their lives. He didn't want the two of them to hate him, especially since his death will be near.
"When I turned old, then I had a terrible headache," said Don Vandolf, shaking his head. "I'll leave you for now. I need to rest first. I don't want to make my ascension to heaven this quick," he said as he walked towards the door.
When Don Vandolf left the room, Jacob immediately wrapped his arms around Jackson.
"Do your job as the eldest son! Marry that brat or else, I will tell Freya that you are the reason why her parents died," Jacob said seriously.
Jackson frowned. "You remember? You know—"
"Yes! I know you're the demon that killed my Mama Josie! Thank me that I haven't killed you yet. Thank me that I'll let you walk around like nothing happened. Now, you have something more to fear than death and that's being cursed and hated by the woman that you love with all your heart and mind," Jacob said angrily. He couldn't think of any other way to intimidate and make his Big Brother Jackson obey him. Freya already knew about it but Jackson didn't know that his wife already knew that...so he will use this as an instrument to tame the demon. He smiled when he saw the look on his brother's face. He looks anxious and confused about what to say and do next.
After a few minutes of silence, Jackson spoke. "I will not marry Yvette," he said.
"You really want Freya to hate you? Go ahead! I will give you what you want!" Jacob turned around to leave the room and pretended to go to his wife but he was surprised when Jackson suddenly grabbed one of his arms.
"I can't live as a pauper and I can't do it if Freya shuns and hates me..." said Jackson.
"So? What are you going to do? You don't even want to marry Yvette Marcus. You left me with no choice. I will tell Freya about i—"
"I don't need to marry Yvette because she's not the true heir of Marcus!" Jackson shouted. He closed his eyes tightly. He had no choice but to tell Jacob about what he knew.
"What do you mean? Do Rhea and Ythan have a biological daughter or son? Make it clear! I don't have time to guess what you're saying!" Jacob said annoyed.
"You already married their only heir!" Jackson whispered.
Jacob's eyes widened. He laughed at what Jackson said. "Are you kidding me?"
"Freya's mother is still alive and she is…Rhea Oligario-Marcus. I found that out myself from Yvette when she asked for my help to keep the mother and daughter away…so they don't know about each other, " explained Jackson.
Jacob laughed out loud. He couldn't believe what he was hearing from his brother's mouth. "You're just kidding, aren't you?"
Jackson shook his head. "Freya is the daughter of Rhea Marcus. If you don't want to believe it, come with me tomorrow at the Marcus party. We'll find out the truth together," he said.
Jacob didn't know what to say. Did he just hit the jackpot? His wife...the woman who stole his heart is a multi-billionaire and she is even richer than them?
