"Freya, wait for me! I need to tell you something. Please, listen to me first,” Diana pleaded as she ran towards her sister-in-law.
Freya ignored Diana's shout and continued walking. She felt that she had played with her. Is that why she was kind to her because she was the reason why Jacob didn't find out about their son? She was even more resentful when she found out that she had monitored Yael's growth. It turns out that their first meeting at the mall then and the ones that followed were no coincidence. She was sure that Diana had planned it.
"Freya, stop walking! I'm sorry! I'm sorry if I kept it a secret from you that I am a Gray! I'm sorry if I hid from Kuya Jacob about Yael! I'm sorry for everything! Please, hear me out. I have my reasons!” Diana shouted with all her might as she was still chasing Freya. She was almost out of breath. She didn't know that she was walking fast. She's still wearing high heels now.
Freya was almost at the gate of the mansion when she suddenly stopped walking. She's catching her breath. Finally, she let her tears fall down from her rosy cheeks. She slowly faced Diana while wiping her tears.
“Tell me, what's your reason? Why did you do that? Did you just plan everything out, including being kind to Yael and me?" Freya's voice cracked.
Diana ran out of words. She didn't know where to start until she mumbled Freya's name. Suddenly, her tears began to fall.
"WHAT? SHOULD WE JUST STARE AND CRY HERE? TELL ME DIANA! I'M GIVING YOU A CHANCE NOW TO EXPLAIN YOURSELF!” Freya shouted.
Freya didn't care if anyone heard or saw her in such a situation. It's been a long time since her heart was broken because of the man she loved the most and she never thought it would happen again. Diana is no different from him. She loved her more than a friend… she was like a sister to her. She grabbed her chest. She could feel a scorching heat which somehow, burned her heart. Her eyes widened when she suddenly felt Diana's warm embrace.
"I'm sorry, Freya. I was angry with Kuya Jacob because of what he did to you. I couldn't stand betrayal and cheating. I saw you, seven years ago. I saw and heard how my brother ignored and pushed you away. He denied you. As a woman, it's infuriating…even though he's my brother. Wrong is wrong. That's why I took the envelope you left outside his condo. I ordered Hulyo to locate and to follow you because I wanted to see how you will raise my niece, how he will grow up. I want to show Kuya Jacob... when the time comes that he made the wrong decision to abandoned both of you away. I also want him to know how hard it is to be a single mom. I'm sorry too if I didn't introduce myself as a Gray. Fear overcame my whole being. I didn't want you to avoid me like how you avoided my brothers, my whole family. I didn't want you to think that I'm a bad person because I'm a Gray. I want you to know me as Diana and not just as a Gray. I know we will come to this situation. I know I will hurt you and you will be angry with me but I don't regret being close to you as I am. In a short period of time, you and Yael have been so close to me so I will not stop until justice has been served for Yael's death," Diana said, full of emotion.
Freya's anger gradually melted away because of what she heard. She was about to speak when Diana spoke again.
"I will help you find solid evidence against Kuya Jackson," Diana whispered as she hugged Freya. She patted her back.
Freya removed Diana's embrace from her. Her eyes were filled with questions. "Wait a minute. You also know that Jackson killed my parents?” she asked with her eyes widened.
“WHAT…WHAT DID YOU SAY? KUYA JACKSON… HE KILLED YOUR PARENTS?” Diana yelled out of shock.
Freya quickly covered Diana's mouth.
"You do not know? What is the point of what you said earlier that you would help me find solid evidence?" Freya asked, confused.
Diana smirked. "I really have a brother from hell." She clenched her jaw.
"Diana, what did you mean earlier? Did Jackson commit any other crimes? Tell me,” Freya begged.
Diana grabbed both of Freya's shoulders and looked her eye to eye.
“Jackson is the real mastermind behind your son's abduction. Don't you know yet? Didn't Kuya Jacob tell you?" Diana said with a frown.
Freya shook her head.
"Kuya Jacob must have other plans that's why he didn't tell you or maybe...he's protecting you from my brother," said Diana.
"All this time, I thought it was Jacob who abducted Yael. That's what Jackson told me. He was even talking to someone on the phone before Jacob abducted me. There is even another woman who will have Jackson talk to me to prove that Jacob is the one who did everything," Freya did not say on her own.
"He tried to manipulate you, Freya. I have my source. I can prove to you that Kuya Jackson is the one who abducted Yael," Diana said seriously.
“Can you really fight your own blood, Diana?” asked Freya.
“Freya, like I said earlier...wrong is wrong. Yes, Kuya Jackson is my family but Yael is also part of my family. The boy did nothing wrong to him. Yael is very kind. That kid…” Diana's tears flowed again. "That kid has a bright future ahead of him. That kid has a lot of dreams not only for himself but for his mother. My eldest brother didn't only rob Yael's life but also his dreams and aspirations. He must be punished," she said while wiping her tears.
Freya clenched her fists. Her tears fell one after the other because of what she discovered and also because of what Diana said.
'I will never forgive you, Jackson. Get ready because I'm going to give you a taste of how a mother who lost her only child can be angry... a mother you deprived of the right to be happy with her child... a mother you deprived of her life,' Freya's mind said as her eyes glazed over.
