Chapter forty eight

48
"It's not my fault. I had no choice but to rape her." I said, controlling my tears from rushing down.
There was never a day when what I had done to Kendra didn't cross my mind and most often I felt like committing suicide.
"I never said you raped her my Brandon." the man told me.
I felt cornered and just decided to set him loose. I was and still am a shameless and worthless man.
Whatever happens happens. I don't care.
"Thank you." he said after I released him and I invited him to a table where we could sit and talk face to face.
After settling down on the seats, the man started to speak.
"My name is Mr Kris Jayden and I am a detective. I am trying to get to the roots of a particular case so I came to you first." Kris said and he showed me his card.
"How did you even find me? And how did you know that I'm still alive?" I asked him.
"I have my ways." Kris answered.
"What is it you want to know?" I asked him.
"You said it's not your fault and you had to rape her. So I want to know what made you to rape her." Kris replied.
"Not what but who made me." I said to him.
"Okay. Who made you to rape Kendra?" Kris asked me again.
"It was her twin sister Kendra." I answered.
"How do you mean?" Kris asked.
"Well... Everything happened about twenty years ago. I used to be Kendra's home tutor. I remember it'll Ike it was yesterday." I started.
"I watched a movie with Kendra for the first time and while we watched the movie, a maid named Carrie had spiked my drink and took advantage of my state at that time." I said.
"And?" Kris said, urging me on.
"And she had everything on camera, not forgetting to make it look like I wanted it too." I said and sighed.
"One day she blackmailed me with the same video and kept asking me for sex all the time. It was during one of those moments that Kira had made a video of I and the maid and she chose to..." I said and broke off with my words.
"Go on Mr Brandon." I heard Kris say as I stared down at the table where both my hands where placed.
"She chose to use the video to force me into raping Kendra." I said.
"Why didn't you just confess to the Donaldson's and tell them what Kira..." he was saying but I cut him off.
"That is completely out of the question my Kris. I am terrified of that couple." I told Kris.
"But why?" he asked.
"People with such great power, influence, connections and even money, can never be trusted. At least that's what I think about such people sometimes." I answered.
"If they had found out about it then I would've been a goner by now." I said to Kris.
"Hadn't the Donaldson's always been nice to you?" Kris asked.
"I always felt like Kendra's father never really liked me and he didn't even try to hide it." I said.
"Never mind that part anyways. I just want to know more about... Wait... Why did did you just disappears? Yes. Tell me about that." Kris said.
"Well, Kira herself tried to get rid of me. I thought I mentioned that already but forget it." I said.
"How did Kira do that? I mean, trying to get rid of you." Kris asked me.
"She wanted me to follow her somewhere and I did because, of course, she still had an advantage over me. After taking taxi multiple times then we stopped at a house that looked okay to live in but also looks like nobody had lived there for a really long time. Kids stabbed me from the side without me seeing it coming and she stood over me to watch me die." I explained to Kris.
"Yes. Keep going. What happened next?" Kris asked me.
"She eventually just got bored real fast of waiting and watching me die so she left me there on my own to do so in silence." I added.
"But why do you need to know all these things? What is this investigation for?" I asked, looking curiously at Kris.
"You will know when the right time comes to disclose. As for now, everything is top secret and I can't share it with you." Kris answered.
"How did you manage to survive?" Kris finally asked.
"Survival instinct. I wasn't Kendra's tutor for nothing. Her parents had made sure they got the best of the best." I answered.
"I would like to know if you still remember the location of the place she had stabbed you at." Kris said.
I wondered about it for a while before giving my answer.
"Yes I still remember it but I don't know the address by heart." I answered.
"Good. You will have to take me there." Kris said.
"Taking you there will be impossible for me." I told him.
"Why is that?" he asked.
"I'm in hiding. And I have been in hiding for years. I don't want to risk being caught for making the mistake of returning to that place." I explained.
"Fine, I won't force you. Can you give me the description of what it looks like?" Kris asked.
"Sure. It's in a desolate place. The house there looked like one that only a family of three can live in it." I said.
"Anything else?" Kris asked.
"No. That is actually all I can remember." I answered him.
Kris sighed and got up.
"Thank you for your time." he said to me and we shook hands.
"No problem." I replied.
He walked to the door and stopped right there.
"Oh. And, Mr Brandon?" he said.
"Yes?" I answered.
"If you ever get a chance to do something to help the girl you wronged or any other person you have ever done bad to... take that chance." Kris advised.
"Will do sir. Thank you." I replied and he left, closing the door behind him.
