Homepage/Married To More Men Than Usual/
Chapter sixty
"I don't know. Just not to my parents." I answered him.
Kris started his car again and took me in a different direction. While he drove I sat silently and thought back on what I had to go through with Aiden.
It had only been two days and I've been whipped and almost raped as well if not for Kris.
Kris... I owe him my life for what he had done for me today.
"Kris?" I called his name.
"Yes?" he answered.
"Thank you... For everything." I said.
"It's nothing Ke..." Kris said and froze then he quickly spoke up again.
"It's really nothing Kira. I just did what was right." he replied.
"Still. Not everyone could have done what you did today. I am really greatful to you." I said to him.
Maybe it's now or never. I should tell Kris openly how I feel about him. I should confess my feelings instead of trying to hide it. But what would be his reaction?
My goodness.
"Kris?" I said.
"We are here." he said, almost at same moment I called his name.
"Sorry. You wanted to say something?" Kris asked.
"No. Never mind that. Where are we?" I asked him.
"At my favourite tea shop. Come on. Let's go." Kris said.
He came out of the car and I followed suit.
I looked around and only saw a small tea shop.
"Where is it?" I asked.
"Over there." Kris answered, pointing to the same small shop I had spotted.
I was surprised because I was expecting him to be more into expensive places.
"Surprised huh?" Kris said and chuckled.
"Actually, this tea shop is kind of like my getaway from all my problems. I just hope it will be of help to you too. It's peaceful and close to nature so..." Kris said.
"I love it." I told him while my eyes scanned the entire place.
Beautiful flowers everywhere... even the air wasn't polluted but felt like it was the source from which air really came.
As I walked side by side with Kris to the coffee shop the smell of fresh coffee filled the air.
This place made me hunger for coffee even when I wasn't a coffee person.
I wasn't in the coffee shop yet but I already felt relaxed. What place is this? It's so easy and gently... I feel like it's reaching out to my soul.
We finally entered the coffee shop and no one was in it except an old man making coffee not far from where we came in from.
"Good day Mr Thompson." Kris greeted.
"Ah Kris, nice to see you again. It's a wonderful day isn't it?" Mr Thompson replied to Kris.
"It sure is." Kris said.
"And who is the lady with you? The beautiful wife you told me about?" Mr Thompson asked Kris.
"Shh." Kris said to Mr Thompson silently but I still heard.
"She is my friend." Kris told him.
Any girl would have blushed witnessing this happen but not me. What just happened only made me feel even more guilty.
I had divorced him and only left the papers for me, leaving him without a word said.
I am such a horrible person to even let him try and calm me down in a wonderful place like this. I don't deserve it at all.
"I'm sorry Kris. I have to go." I said and rushed out. Kris ran after me and grabbed my hand when he caught up with me.
We were already at a distance from the coffee shop.
"What's wrong? I swear I didn't tell him to say that to you. I apologize on his behalf is you feel hurt abou..." Kris said.
I hugged him immediately, not letting him to finish his sentence.
He slowly wrapped his hands around me.
"I'm so so sorry for everything." I said, sobbing.
Kris parted from me but we were still in close contact.
He placed his palms on my cheeks and gazed into my eyes.
"It's not your fault." he said.
"I know you know who I am... and I thank you for loving me nevertheless." I told him.
"Just be patient. Everything will be back to normal. I promise you." Kris said.
He hugged me again. I felt very safe in his arms. It was clear now. Kris was the one for me and nobody else.
It is sad that we can't be together but then something made me believe in what he had just said to me. Everything will be back to normal.
"Let's take you back home okay?" Kris said.
"No. Cant I just stay with you?" I asked him.
"I wish you could but that's not possible right now." Kris replied.
"But why? I asked him.
"I can't tell you right now but everything will be clearer in future. Very soon you will understand everything." Kris said to me.
"Okay. You can take me home now. I'm ready to return." I said to him.
"Okay.lets go but first I need to say goodbye to Mr Thompson. Please wait here." Kris said and ran off.
Once he was out of sight my phone rang out.
I picked it and said hello.
"Well hello to you too Kendra." I heard a voice say.
I checked my phone to see who was calling but it only said private number.
"Who is this?" I asked.
"Haha haha. Funny Kendra. You don't know the voice of the person from which you were created anymore?" the voice replied.
"What do you want Kira?" I asked her.
"Good to know you understand why I would ever call you. Just saying you better go home to Mr and Mrs Donaldson. You are getting married tomorrow since you have chosen to destroy think with Aiden." Kira said.
"I can't believe you can be this heartless. Why Kira? Why would you set me up with such a man?" I asked her.
"I owe you no answers." Kira said.
"Just do as I had just told you." Kira added.
"Oh! And... say hi to your lover boy for me okay?" Kira said and ended the call before I could say anything.
