Chapter sixty five

#####65
Kris POV
"Yes. Our company will give you nothing but the best." I said and shook hands with my newly found business partners.
"We expect nothing less." he replied as we parted from the handshake.
The conference room was barged into by an employee of mine. Thankfully the conference had just gotten over.
"My apologies sir but there is some urgent news." the employee said.
"Can you see that..." I said.
"Oh no no no sir. I was already taking my leave." my business partner said, interrupting what our was about to say.
"Fine. No problem then." I replied to my business partner.
He nodded slightly and left with two other men who were with him.
I turned to my employee the moment my business partner left and the door closed behind him.
"Why did you barge in here in that manner?" I asked him, giving a serious look.
"I'm sorry sir but this couldn't wait." he said and rushed with his laptop to where I was standing in front of my desk.
"What is it?" I asked.
"I think it's better you see for yourself sir." he said and tapped on his laptop buttons.
He played a video and I wat watched on. It was a screen recorded video of the news from this morning. I had missed it because I had to leave for work early.
Somehow a journalist was given access to take her cameraman into jail and video a cell.
"Kira Donaldson was said to have escaped from jail this morning. Out and on the hunt for the twin which everyone had only recently found out about on the wedding she was having." the journalist said.
The cameraman zoomed in on a message written on the wall of where Kira formally stayed.
"I'm coming for you Kendra!" was written on the wall.
"Sadly, the police didn't find out on time and were unable to stop Kira on to me as if was said that Kendra wasn't found in her parents' mansion. The police will soon be on their way to Mr Kris' main company to find out if he has any information on the whereabouts of miss Kendra Donaldson, hoping that she is with him." the journalist said.
I heard sirens from outside my company at that very minute and I looked outside right through the transparent glass.
Could this really be happening? Or maybe Kendra had just gone to look for Charles. Luckily for me I had a secret room in my company only known to me.
"Excuse me." I said to the employee and dashed out of my office.
I had to find out if Kendra just left to see her daughter Mirabella and also if Mirabella was safe.
I couldn't talk to the press and the police just yet. At least not until I check myself and be sure. I just hope Kendra is fine.
I opened a store room and pushed against the side of a shelf there the it opened to my secret room and I closed it.
I took the torch from where it was normally layed and turned it on in order to see properly.
I made it to a different door which then led me to the car park of my company and I entered on of my cars and drove off with Charles' mansion as a destination in mind.
I kept trying to call Kendra but it kept saying her number was switched off. I angrily threw my phone on the passenger seat next to me and focused on getting to Charles.
When I got there I noticed that Charles was also just returning from somewhere so I waited a bit till he came out of his car.
"Did you hear the news?" Charles asked me immediately he spotted me.
"You mean Kendra is not with you?" I asked as I felt my heart skip beats.
"No. She isn't. I just came back from an important meeting. I would have arrived here earlier if not that I..." Charles was saying.
"Never mind that. We have to find Kendra. Where is Mirabella?" I asked Charles.
"She is inside. I only rushed back to check on her." Charles answered and we both rushed into his mansion, pushing the door wide open.
All we saw was a crying bleeding maid and a scattered living room. The television was broken and so was the center table.
"What on earth happened here?!" Charles shouted.
The maid was about to speak but Charles interrupted.
"Forget that! Where is Mirabella?!" Charles shouted at the maid, causing her to cry even more.
"A lady came here. She just pushed me aside and started to smash everything. I tried to stop her but..." the maid cried as she was trying to explain.
"But what?!" I shouted, feeling nervous and impatient.
"She stabbed me on the shoulder with a glass from the television and ran away with Mirabella." the maid added.
"What?!" I and Charles chorused.
No! No! This... This can't be happening!
"Please help me! My arm is bleeding so much." the maid said.
I tearfully called an ambulance and left Charles' mansion. However, before I could enter my car, a hand grabbed me on the shoulder.
I turned and saw it was Charles. He had followed me out.
"You're going to look for Kira right? Let me come with you." Charles said.
"I'm a professional. It's also too dangerous for you to come along." I said to him and tried to proceed into my car.
"Kira not only has your Kendra, she has my daughter too." Charles told me, with fire in his eyes.
"Fine be please be careful." I said to Charles and we both entered my car.
"Where are we going?" Charles asked me.
"To where all this nonsense began." I answered.
"Then I guess you have a clue of where Kira might be." Charles said.
"Not just a clue. I am sure she is there." I said to Charles.
I drove for almost forty minutes before finally reaching my destination.
It was that same designated area. The same place I believe Kira had supposedly killed Brandon and I had no doubt that I would find her here.
I stepped out of my car and Charles followed me.
"What is this place?" Charles asked, referring to the building as we walked into it.
