Chapter 2.2

I sat on the corner of the elevator. The light flickered then went off. WHAT NOW?!
“M-Mister?! I-I can't see anything! Where are you?!” I panicked. I have night blindness. I really can't see anything.
“If you can't see anything, stay still. Just sit.” He's so heartless. How can he say that? Doesn't he know how to care for a woman like me?
“Can you sit beside me?” I don't want to feel this kind of loneliness in this darkness.
He didn't respond, so I tried to grope for him. I moved forward while I'm extending my arms. Where is he? Why can't I touch anything?
“Look where you're touching, woman.” Tss, I just touched your hand. Is it a big deal? It's just your hand, hello!
“I can't see anything, okay. How can I look? Sorry, okay?.”
He moved. “Don't! What are you doing? Don't leave! Have some consideration and sit beside this little girl.” I snaked my arms around his arm.
“I won't leave. I'm just stretching my legs.”
“Oh.”
He opened his cellphone and switched on the torch. He directly lighted my face.
“Yah!! My eyes!!” The light went off them suddenly I heard a click, and it flashed.
“What is that?!”
“For keeps. You look so ugly here.”
“Delete that! That's against my rights! I didn't give you the permission to take my photo! Delete that or I'll sue you!” I tried to take the phone from him, but he put it in his pocket.
“Go, sue me if you can.”
I groaned in irritation. I didn't see the photo, but—wait, hang on. It's fine though. This face is not mine. He can take a lot of pictures, I won't mind.
I held his arm tighter.
“Let me hold you until we get out of this elevator, is that okay?”
“You should pay me then.”
“Oh. I don't have any money right now. Uhm... this. This necklace, you can get this. I don't know how much this costs, but hope this will be enough.” I removed my necklace and handed it to him. He took it.
“Don't worry! That's a real gold, it's not fake. I assure you that. ”
“If this is not real, I'll charge you three times.”
“Psh. You have my word. Uhm, by the way, did you call someone already?”
“Hmm. We just have to wait for 20 minutes.”
“Oh. Then...” Gosh, what else should I say?
“What's your name?” I'll chase you after I get my body back. I told you, you're totally my type, why would I let you go?
“Why should I tell you my name?”
“It's just a name. Why...? Ugh. Then don't.” Psh. A cold man indeed. Why bother ask, Calais? He's still a stranger after all.
I let out a deep sigh. Am I already dead? God, this is so frustrating. If I'm dead, my soul should not be in this woman's body, right? I should have crossed the bridge of afterlife. But they said I'm critically lying at some hospital, do I still have the chance of survival?
“What's the time now? Your man is so slow. You said 20 minutes. I guess, we're sitting here for like thirty minutes. Where is he now?”
“Can you have a little bit more patient?” He sounds annoyed. And why? Is he blaming me for being stuck here?
“Okay, fine. Sorry. Sorry, okay?” Gosh, how many times did I say sorry to him in just a day?
I heard a knock on the elevator's door. “Boss! Are you there?!” a man from the outside shouted.
“Hey! We are here!” I shouted.
“Quick. Open the door. They are inside.”
A minute later and the door opened. My eyes are still adjusting from the light. I guess there are four people who opened the door.
I let go of his arm. He stood up.
“Boss! Are you okay?” A man came in and checked his so-called boss while the other three left.
“Yeah. Are you going to sit there until tomorrow?”
“Mind helping me?” I extended my hand, but he just stared at it.
“Stand on your own,” he said and left.
Ha! Now, I'm starting to dislike him. His attitude is so awful. I don't want a husband like him.
“Ah, miss. Let me help you.”
“Thank you. You... you look familiar... Ah! You're that man...? I'm so sorry for what I did earlier. Did I pull you too hard?”
He smiled. “No. No. I'm fine.”
“Is she your boss? Why are you still standing there?” The man came back.
Psh. Does he always wear that emotionless face?
“Are you working for him? What do you do? Does he has a split personality? He's laughing a while ago, but now, he's all grumpy.”
The man laughed. “I'm his secretary—”
His boss let out a fake cough.
“O-Oh. Gotta go. Goodbye, ma'am.”
“Bye bye.” Before they left, the man gave me a death glare.
Ha! What is that glare for? Did I do something bad to him? I just held his arm, talked to him, that's all.
“Ma'am!” Five man in black appeared.
Hayyyss. Aren't they tired of chasing me?!
“Don't try to escape, ma'am. Please spare our lives.”
“Fine! I'll attend the wedding! Happy?”
I will surely mess that freaking wedding.
“But I can't take the elevator. We should go by stairs.” I walked towards the stairs. They were behind me.
We're on 7th floor. The wedding will be held at the 16th floor.
“Ma'am, we should go faster. Your wedding will start at exactly 11, and we only have 15 minutes.”
“If this wedding can't be delayed for a minute, then it's not my problem. Cancel it.”
“Yes, President. Yes. We'll be there. Rest assured President Amadeo, your daughter will attend the wedding in time.” The man is talking with someone on the phone.
President Amadeo is obviously Zainea's father.
We're currently on the 9th floor.
“Ok, sir.”
“I'm tired. Hoo! Can we rest for a bit?”
“We'll be late, ma'am. We should keep going—”
“Please. This dress is so heavy, and I think I can't walk anymore—”
“Carry her.”
“What?! No! Don't you dare! Okay. Let's keep going.” Crap this. I don’t want anyone to carry me.
“Zainea Amadeo.” A woman appeared in front of us. I guess she's waiting for me or something. For what? Who is she?
“Who are you?” I asked her.
“What are you doing? Get her out of the way! The wedding will start soon!” the man who just had a phone call with Zainea's father commanded. Two men approached the woman.
“Let go of her! How could you treat a woman like that?!” I went to them. “Your hands! Don't touch her!”
“But ma'am—”
When I was about to hold the woman's hand, she suddenly took out a rock from her bag, and hit me with it. I fell on the floor because of that. I heard the woman laughed insanely.
“Ma'am!!”
“Take that woman to the jail!”
I shook my head. My vision is getting blurry, and I feel so dizzy. I can't even clearly hear what they are saying.
“She's bleeding! Call an ambulance right now! Ma'am!”
“Hello? There is an emergency here at The Royals! Please, be quick.”
“President Amadeo, your daughter was hurt. We're on the stairs here at the 9th floor.”
“Ma'am! Can you hear me? Ma'am! Ma'am!”
It hurts...
I touched my head. Why did she hit me? What kind of life does Zainea has, that she is being treated this way? How many enemies do you have?
The blood went down my eyes, so I wiped it out.
Blood... Fresh blood... On my hand...
