Chapter 10: Snuggle

Samantha's eyes opened. She's now wide awake. She get up and leaned her back on the bed. It was easier to breathe when back when her mind isn't fond of being hyperactive in thinking. After nestling with the blanket, she finally got out of the bed.
Samantha get out of her room. She wouldn't be able to go back to sleep easily. Her insomnia is starting to pry on her, attacking her again. She went to the living room only to see Gregory asleep.
She looked at his sleeping fgite on the couch. Seeing him she figured out that he's probably cold—it made Samantha go back inside her room to get her husband a blanket.
Gregory didn't sleep with her. She's aware that he specifically vouched to sleep in the cushion outside because he did not want her to be uncomfortable. She would be in discomfort and Gregory knows that. He always had this knowing look everytime she utters the word “I'm fine” to him. But seeing him shivering made Samantha had the guilty feeling. She will be okay with sleeping in the same bed with him when she saw his state. She gripped the extra blanket she found inside one of the cabinets and get out of the room.
Samantha went towards a sleeping Gregory to cover him with the blanket. She scrunched her nose upon seeing the blockage. She propped her head down to fix some of the few strands of Gregory's hair that fell on his face. She could have left it that way. She thought to herself when his hand suddenly caught her wrist.
Gregory suddenly opened his eyes, smirk, and pulled Samantha down to be situated on top of him. Samantha yelped with the sudden change. Her breath hitched when she saw how close their faces are from each other. One small move can change everything right now.
Gregory smiled, his hands wrapped her waist. He stared at her with a drowsy stare. “Samantha, you're beautiful.” He whispered before he drew her close, making Samantha grunt because of it.
He was hugging her as if she was his favorite stuffed animal. She tilted her head to to check if he's awake but Gregory's eyes were not close. Samantha wanted to get up. She carefully pushed her body as she gently hold Gregory's shoulder. A hand was fast enough to sneak into her spine and pulled her back of his body.
“Hmmm.” Gregory snuggled. His face were on her neck. He managed to turn her to the other side making their bodies be in an accurate fitting position in the cushion that they're in.
The cushion is big and it can fit the two of them but Sam couldn't breath because of what's going on. He was bugging her while she was still as a rock, rigid in her place. Unable to make herself move even her mind is telling her to do it.
Samantha looked at him before she did the unusual thing she could do. She cradled him in her arms. Her head resting at the top of his and Gregory scooted closer to her nape that she can feel his breath on her skin.
She shivered because of the contact. This happened— there's nothing to distress about. Samantha felt her lids wanting to close. The drowsiness began to kicked in making her eyes close. She forgot about what bothered her, what made her wake up, and instead she let herself immersing with the feeling of comfort provided by Gregory.
The sun is up. Samantha moved because of the touch. Gregory stared at her, his eyes smiling as he removed the strands of Samantha's hair that covered her face.
She still has her eyes close. She went closer to him, she snuggled while mumbling something on her mouth. Gregory chuckled at the inaudible sounds she made.
Samantha's in her dream land until her lids started moving for a bit. She lifted her lids. She saw a figure smiling at her with happy eyes. Someone was already looking at her while she was still asleep. She followed the feeling that ushered her to open her eyes. Samantha saw the glint of delight dancing in Gregory's eyes while he was staring at her face. She moved, Gregory held her wrist helping her as she tried to take the sitting position.
She put a distance, moving her body away from him. She waved her hands up. “Don't look at me. I probably look like a mess right now.” She said still not making an eye contact at the Gregory who's gaze didn't leave her.
She heard a chuckling sound out of him. It sounded too manly. If this is something she will hear every morning might as well record it. His chuckles and laughs sounded too good for her. It's even better that jazz. She finally lifted her head to look at him. He looked like comfortable. He seems comfortable in his skin.
Gregory follows her gaze. He stared at her. The eye contact made Samantha looked away. She mumbled something under her breath again. She blinked before looking back at him. She blinked down retreating from the inspection before she composed herself and stared back at his face again. It's becoming too repetitive that Gregory suddenly grinned at her.
“You don't have to worry with your looks, Sam. You're beautiful. Even in the morning.” He was smiling at her as he uttered his compliment.
Samantha realizes how long she's been staring at his face touches her lashes, leveling them with her finger. She ignored her stomach and its little tumble because of Gregory's compliment. “I—I don't know what to say about that.” She mentally wanted to palmed her face because of her stuttering.
Their eyes didn't wavered. Their eye contact continued. It was Gregory who broke it first before he stood up. He messed his hair, disheveling it with his hands. Samantha can only look at the handsome glory of the man in front of her. He looked too good that she it's hard for her to not try making compliments in her head.
“I need to prepare us a breakfast.” Gregory was busy messing his hair before he stared at her. “Sam, can you promise me one thing?”
“Uh—yes?” She retorted back at him.
Gregory smiled because of her reply. “Promise me that we will not be skipping breakfast and the two of us will eat together from on.” He flashed her a boyish grin. “Can you do it, Sam?” He smiled at her.
Samantha wanted to vent a scream internally because of his actions. He was too suave. She eagerly nodded his head at him. “Promise.” She uttered her short reply...
