Samantha's hand reached towards the necklace—it was always there hanging on her neck. Reminders of two people she treasured who were already up in the heavens. She stared at what she's wearing. She's wearing a black dress. She brought her lips to form a smile. Black suits her too. It was a black vneck sided ruched bodycon halter dress. Padded and pretty to wear. Samantha's eyes went to watch Gregory through the mirror, who seems to fumble his tie with his fingers. She smoothens her dress with her hands, gently dragging it down her tighs before she walked towards him. She stopped him. Her hold then went to arrange the tie. When she was satisfied with how she did it, she smiled at him. “That's it.” She happily chirped at him. The two of them both allowed their continuous exchange of stares. The exchange of gazes lingered followed by the smiles on their faces. Samantha and Gregory arrived to a fancy dinner party arranged by one of Gregory's close friends. She felt Gregory stilled beside Samantha. It was indicative that he's stare was on someone particular. Samantha followed his gaze, trailing it until it reached someone. He draw a sharp breath when the woman looked their way. She stared at Gregory. The woman pranced towards them with pride. Delicate manners is apparent to her appearance—she was holding a glass of champagne in her hands. She smiled at them. Gregory's fingers sneaked through hers, enveloping Samantha's hand with his hold. Samantha tilted her head at him before her eyes went back to the woman in front of them. She saw how a darkened looked flickered through her gaze when she saw what Gregory did. Samantha was trying to measure what's obvious, thinking on how she wanted it accurately. Gregory was still silent, and while she stared at the woman who made him rooted in his place. Samantha can only say that this woman was Gregory's ex-girlfriend. “Well, hello dear. It's nice to see you again in flesh.” The woman went towards Gregory, her fingers settled on his chest. She gave him a peck on the cheek. It stayed. She was pressing her lip, before she slightly pursed it went she moved her head away from her. It was an awkward move. Gregory didn't budge from the greeting. But his hand snake around Samantha's waist, pulling her closer to him. “Hello, Coreen. I would like you to meet Samantha Marie Shaffer.” His eyes intimately examined her face. Before he turned towards the woman standing in front of them. “My wife.” He added. The woman tightened looked appeared in her eyes again. She raised her chin and turned to scan her. She was tilting her head, looking at her face before she looked down to the footwear she wore. The woman's head went to its proper position. She smiled. “Nice to meet you, Samantha. I am Coreen Villa.” She still looked Gregory with decadent warmth. “I am Gregory's...” She then moved her head. “I'm glad that you're here and you brought your wife with you, Gregory. I am happy that you managed to attend this event that's very precious for Zion and I.” She smiled in an upturned one. “You're really are a great friend to us. Samantha felt the startling feeling rippled through her. So this festive atmosphere was due to the fact that it was an engagement party for this woman and her fiance who was named Zion. “Zion” She said quietly to herself. The name's familiar. But it couldn't be that Zion. A man appeared behind Coreen's back. His hands went to hold her waist, before his head turned to looked at them. "Hello.” The man uttered. Zion... The Zion is... This can't be. Her mind couldn't process the delay. She stared at him looking in disbelief. It was the time for her to still frozen in her place when she fully grasp what is currently going on. “I'm glad you're here, pal.” He strided and pulled Gteogry in a manly hug before his eyes went towards her. “And I think this is your wife.” His stare turned intense. He went closer to her and smiled. “I am Zion Alderman.” His eyes went to Coreen, his stare went tender. “And she's my lovely soon to be wife.” He uttered breathlessly. Without a doubt, she's starting to feel the rage building inside her. She looked at Gteogry who's eyes were on the couple who is now acting all lovey dovey in front of them. She threw them a sharp looked without being caught. Her nerves were reaching heights. The guy was a terrible liar and her husband. Well her husband. She couldn't believe that he lied to her too. She wanted to tell him how did he lied to her like that. But she didn't. She slowly evened her temper and tried to go back to here very eccense of looking good-natured. The dinner radiate even more awkwardness for the both of them. She was merely a listener. The pair were all over the moon, talking about their upcoming wedding while she and Gregory was sitting. Her husband did converse with them. She was just observing. She took the glass of water to saturate her throat before she excused herself to go to the bathroom. The memory flashed vividly in her mind. The man that went out of her sister's hospital room was Zion himself. She turned the faucet on and let the water splashed through her hands. Samantha suddenly couldn't breath trying to process her thoughts. “He's here. This can't be..” She then harshly rubbed her fingers together as the water continues to flow. She checked herself in front of the mirror. She's completely conscious that she's affected by what's happening when she could've just let it all flow through her. She wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. She wanted to recollect her own thoughts and put it in a healthy state. Samantha stared at her reflection once more before she turned the faucet off. She went to dry her fingers before she head out to go back to the table...
