Samantha turned the shower on, letting the water trickle down her body. It was strange for her to act that way, leaving without saying. She was then hooked with the thoughts that flooded her mind. Her adopted mother called and she took the chance to postpone her meeting with them. She wouldn’t ignore the waning premonition. She doesn’t feel the want to meet up with them. She received a chat from her sister Macy who also invited her to have dinner. She just read her message and put her in a seen zone. She’d rather not send a reply at least for now. Soaking herself up with the water, she reached for the hair cream. Samantha then lathered her hair carefully. She then went to get the foaming scrub. After the lathering and scrubbing, Samantha stepped away from the shower and walked towards the tub. She let the water flow again, happy to see that she got her needed warm temperature when she let her fingers touched it. Before she stepped in, Samantha lighted the candled placed near the tub. She started staring blankly at the tiled-wall in front of her. The candles give off their tangy scent and she took herself to inhale. Carefully smelling the orange-scented candles she bought for herself. There is no such thing as ignoring what she just did. The self-denying act clearly won’t work on her. She abandoned Gregory because she was weakened by her own feelings that took over. It was an illogical one. If her parents knew about it they will start dropping adjectives out of their mouths to describe what she had done. It will be a wacky, laughable act for them. Their always seemed to be addicted in trying to make fun of everything she does. Samantha dismissed the painful memory that came in mind. She roused from the water and left the bathroom. Samantha dried herself. She rubbing her hair, drying it off with the towel she had in her hand. She was preparing to get herself to bed. She remembered the days where Gregory and her slept in the same bed. And as she remembered it, she began to thank herself for doing the most sensible thing for herself. She just wouldn’t feel comfortable if she head straight to his unit after she left him at the event alone. She stared at the empty space she can take all for herself. She just wanted to sleep and let her mind forget about what happened even just for a bit. Gregory’s face appeared inside her mind again. She gently closed her eyes because of it. The door bell rang making Samantha opened her eyes. She hurriedly went to her closer and started to rummage through her clothes. She found what she was looking for. Samantha immediately put and wore the robe, enclosing her skin with the fabric. She then walked out of her room. Samantha activated the camera and turned it on. She went to checked, trying to see who is at the front door of her unit only to see that it was Gregory who at the outside. Samantha hesitated. She gripped the knob before she decided that she needs to open her door for him. So Samantha opened the door. Samantha see through him. She suddenly can feel the coldness radiating in Gregory’s aura. It was unmistakably cold. He looked so stern, too serious. She fussed upon seeing his expression. This is something that is new to her. She was scared to see this new side of him that showed up. Her senses were stimulated by the strong emotions that swell through her chest. But still Samantha tried to meet his gaze. She wanted to applaud herself for doing it. Samantha checked his eyes and that is when she that they were blank. No single glint of emotion can be seen through him but he still display the calm demeanour he has through his face,
No onslaught of aggression can be traced. He was still unexceptionally handsome even with his emotionless expression. Samantha was too engrossed to stare at his face that she forgot to even say something towards Gregory who looked like he was waiting for her to utter something. They both were staring at each other before Samantha blinked her eyes as she can feel them drying. She averted her eyes at him. “Why are you here, Gregory?” She asked. He scoffed at what she said and Samantha’s eyes widened. It was an act she did not expect him to do. But then Samantha was suddenly reminded on how she still doesn’t know this man completely. She stared at him. “Alright, perhaps I think I should ask you your reason for leaving me there? Alone??” Gregory’s jaw ticked at his question. He was clenching them a bit hard that Samantha can clearly see how his jaw moved. Greogory was indeed mad at what she did to him. And for Samantha, the air suddenly feels heavy. She dropped her eyes and tried to steady herself. She wanted to apologize to Gregory. “I am sorry.” She looked at him. She wanted to run and have some open-air at the alfresco building. She was starting to feel like the apology must be flawed in some type of way. But she doesn’t feel the need to explain a thing to him. “Look, I am tired and you are too. Let just talk tomorrow, Greg.” She pleaded. “My energy couldn’t entertain any bicker right now. I just wanted to rest.” Her mind is getting heavy too. It’s aching and she wanted to just doze off and shake the stresses that she got from tonight’s event. Gregory wasn’t budging. So she checked on him again. “Greg.” She uttered his name under her breath, softly. “You need to go home. It’s late.” She added. His hand suddenly caught Samantha’s wrist. He pulled her close to him . Samantha yelped because of the sudden move Gregory did. He was in his embrace. “I’m sorry.” He suddenly uttered. Samantha was confused because of what he said to her. Her head moved. Her chin was raised and she stared at him. “For what?” They both just stared at each other. Gregory’s hand went to touch her head before he slid it down. His other hand were wrapped on her waist. He was looking at her. This time his gaze softened. “You’re right. We just figure this thing for tomorrow.” He said while massaging her hair with his fingers. Samantha wanted to sleep because of it. She was closing her eyes. She really is sleepy. She pushed the sleepiness away and forced herself to look at him. “You need to go home. It’s late, Gregory.” She replied. Samantha saw how he moved his head in agreement to what he said. Gregory hummed. “I don’t want to go home without you. I’d rather stay here with you until you decide for yourself that you wanted to go back home with me.” He uttered gently. Samantha’s ache was lessened. The tension suddenly dissolved because of what he did. She was waiting for something dangerous, something lethal. Gregory was full of suprises tonight. She wrapped her arms, clinging it to his neck. Gregory then carried her before they entered. The door closed in a swift motion while the two were now inside…
