(Gregory) It wasn't my intention to swept her to be connected with me through papers too suddenly. I was supposed to take things slow. It's because of my innate belief that the strong and stable approach will get someone far in life. But I figured out, I didn't have much time because I have to decide immediately. It wasn't because of my father's hasty decision to put me in a situation where I have to decide or he will be the final arbitrator into finding me a suitable wife. I was pressured. But I wasn't scared of having a decisive decision for myself. But what scares me the most is having to have someone as a wife whom I can't find myself to be with for a long periods of time. I don't want to have someone by my side whose existence I couldn't find resonance with. It'll only end up as a disaster. Which can only lead into one ending, divorce... Samantha—she's someone whom I saw as the perfect fit to those scattered feelings I have throughout these past years. The corners of my mouth smiled. I am not the kind to have fondness in having to remind myself of the things of the past. But when my mind started to journey inside my mind to remind me of my memories of her, it's something I'm glad I can still vividly remember. My memory of the very first time I had a glimpse of her beautiful essence. Flashback: Gregory tugged the book on the shelf. His mind, wandering. This is such an unusual thing to do when he's supposed to attend to his piano lessons with Mister Aldivar. He took another route instead of visiting his primitive studio. This is should be included in his records of experiences. One of the very first steps he did was to at least get out of his routine. It's because Gregory went to the local library around downtown Stubblefield. He picked up the book. His neck creak for a moment. With intense focus, he perused to every book in the shelf. He was looking for something with substance. As he will take it with him. He got one. It was something that looked worth to spend hours of his time with it. With enough strength, he tugged it off. Away from the the others that remained. Gregory carried it in his left hand before he took his step out of being surrounded by the two tall shelves. He was was supposed to walk to the counter when someone passed in front of him. He caught the scent and suddenly the air change. Something was up floating eerily. Gregory looked winded. A flutter of nerves spread through him as he took sight of the girl who passed by. There she was standing in front of the other woman who also has quite a similar features to her. She was smiling. It made Gregory's gaze curious. She was wearing a yellow sundress. A sunflower crochet clip was in her head. She was talking, immersed in the conversation. The woman suddenly flashed her pearly white teeth. Gregory was stunned by the sight of her. She was beautiful... She has such crystal clear eyes that has glint in it. Her hair is long, down below her shoulders. It was wavy, the kind of hair fitting with the oceanic waves and the setting of the sun. Her entire vibe can be compared to the ending of spring season before summer will be in its full swing. He stood rooted in his place. His feet stopped pulling him to move to the counter anymore. He just stood there and stared at the the girl. The woman suddenly pulled out a drink. She gave it to the helper of the store. Gregory can only stare when suddenly the other girl's eyes were on him. She saw the woman suddenly smiled at her. He suddenly had the push in him to take a step towards the counter. He walked towards them, clutching the book he was planning to burrow towards his chest. Gregory was walking when suddenly the girl turned. She had such frenetic pace in Gregory's perspective that it only took a few seconds for her to meet him halfway. It was a sudden movement of pace that made Ggegory had a clear view of her face. The girl stared at him and then she flashed him a smile before she walked pass him. Gregory was stunned again. He followed through, trailing her tracks. The girl suddenly turned around to give the woman at the counter a flying kiss before she then pranced her way out happily. He was rooted in his place. Astonished. Gregory was still looking at her back. His eyes were still trailing through the glass windowm. When someone made a coughing sound that made him tore his eyes off the girl and her vibrant yellow sundress. Gregory turned towards the woman in front of him. The woman suddenly smiled at him. She had such calm demeanor and her eyes were in the shade of black but it was the kind of stare you know comes from someone who doesn't have the stare of judgement. “She's beautiful, right?” The woman looked at him. Her eyes wore a radiating glowing gaze. She then stared at the book he was holding. She then smiled at him. She made an eyeing gesture towards the book in Gregory's hold. “Got any plans with that?” She asked. Before she stared at his eyes once again. “My apologies. Im was just trying to make you feel comfortable.” Gregory brought his head to move in a nod in response to the woman. “You're doing a great job with your assist.” He answered. The woman smiled at her. She then pursed her lip for a bit. “That girl that you saw a while ago, she’s my sister.” Gregory drew his eyes shut. It was such a vivid memory that he can clealy recall Grace's smiling face. Gregory was lost in the thought of it when another image popped inside his head. Her anxious expression, with her trembling hands as she came towards him. Her eyes were afraid. She looked puzzled and disoriented. As she then opened her mouth and uttered that she needed help. “Grace. Grace, I'm so sorry. I should have done something much better for you..” He muttered her name after his statement again under his breath, saying it as if he's trying to whisper it through air. Before he then uttered a curse in his mouth. He rested his back in the seat of his car, went to the right side of the empty space on the road. He stopped his car. Gregory turned the engine off. He removed his hands on the steering wheel of his car. His fingers then suddenly moved and disheveled his hair. Gregory then moved his head down to the edge of the steering wheel, muttering another curse word out of his mouth... ---
