Chapter 27: Homely

They finished off their dinner. It was Gregory who offered to wash the dishes. Samantha loved the lavish arrangement of plating he had done a while a ago. As well as the food he cooked of course. It was delicious.
She was standing beside him. Samantha then opened her mouth to speak. “How about your clothes? You're on your work clothes the whole day.” Samantha asked.
Gregory turned the faucet off. He turned to look at her. “I'm staying here with you, Sam.” His voice calm.
But Samantha's eyes were still in question as she stared at him.
Gregory fully turned his body to face her. “I have my things in the bag. I'm staying here.” He spoke with the finality in his voice.
Samantha then let her mind wander off. She was then able to recall that he was carrying a backpack with him when she saw him. Samantha then suddenly chuckle because of what she remembered.
“What's wrong?” Gregory asked. His eyes gave her a look of concern.
“Nothing.” She wave her hands up. But she was still smiling. She then meet his gaze. “I just find it cute that you're bringing your necessities with you. It's almost as if you're in a sleep over.” She added.
Gregory shook his head at her. But his mouth were twitching for a bit. He was trying not to smile because of her reply. “I would stay here for as long as you won't go back to my place.”
Samantha smiled. She stared at her with warmth in her lenses. “I will go back there, Greg. It's just that...”
“I know.” He said and he was fast enough to give a reply. He then dry his hands for a bit before he moved his it, tugging her closer to him.
“This was your home first. And you're more comfortable in here.” He whispered under his breath.
Samantha then titled her head for a bit. Before she then reached for his hair. She slowly combed it with her fingers. “You should go change and freshen up. I'll wash the dishes.” She said.
Gregory nodded his head immediately at Samantha. “I will, Madan.” He answered before he then flash a smirk on his face.
Samantha was smiling the entire time she was doing the chore. She was abandoned for a bit and that's when she realized that she really had a liking having Gregory's presence around her. This is not isn't her. She wanted to give her cheek a slap because of the thought on how she looked foolish as her mouth were on full stretch, smiling. She shook her head, finding the irony in her situation at the moment without removing the smile on her face.
--
They were on the living room. Together, Samantha and Gregory sat on the couch as they're about to watch a movie. They were sitting closely beside each other.
The movie started playing and Samantha couldn't help but feel a bit cold.
Gregory's eyes were on her. “Are you okay?” He uttered, checking her out.
She lifted her head and stared at him. “I'm feeling cold.” She said with full honesty.
Their gazes were firmly staring at each other. Before Gregory broke it off. He stood up. He then looked at her. “I'll just get you a blanket for you to cover yourself up.”
Samantha then pursed her lip because of it. She then felt more colder because of his abrupt move. The racing of her heart suddenly weakened. She frowned upon accessing her own state.
Samantha's eyes were on the big screen before her eyes landed on the table. They made some popcorn and prepared four cans of soda. Each of the two of them will be have two cans. She wanted to open one but she wanted to have the drink together with Gregory. So she waited. She then let herself put her attention on what's on the screen.
His persona is still a mystery for her. Samantha started to sigh because of what she was thinking. She doesn't want to give in to some of the delusions that's been crowding her mind lately. It's making her feel more puzzled because of it.
So many questions in her head that's been waiting for answers. But she doesn't want to be someone who's meddlesome in Gregory's eyes. And besides she really have respect for him. She doesn't want to be pry on his business and be all nosy.
Samantha suddenltjt felt the need to drift off. She started yawning. The want to close her eyes and the need to go to sleep was seizing her head. She blinked for a bit.
Samantha did a huge inhale. Letting some air inside of her lungs, hoping it'll erase her sleepy feeling even just for a little bit. But it didn't. So she then prepared herself. She slowly leaned towards the sofa when a pair of arms suddenly were on her shoulder blades, preventing her from completely letting her body fall in the cushion.
She opened her eyes and saw Gregory who's so close. He was fast, so fast. That he's head were a bit closer to hers. She stopped herself from breathing because of the sudden closeness. He then pushed her a bit back on the sofa. Samantha let herself rest her back.
“Here.” He suddenly covered her with the blanket.
“How about you” She askes him.
Gregory just stared before he removed his gaze from her. “We can share.” He replied.
Gregory cleared his throat when Samantha wasn't able to give her reply. He immediately went to take the space beside her. He looked when he heard Samantha yawn.
Samantha closed her mouth immediately when she saw him looking. She then smiled sheepishly. “In really tired. But I still want to finish watching the movie.”
Gregory then managed to smile because of it. He then tapped his shoulder. “Then why don't you lean and me?” He suddenly offered.
Samantha was smiling before she rested her head. She let her head lean on Gregory's shoulder. When he suddenly wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer to him. This made Samantha moved her arms to hugged him in return.
