Chapter 30: Girls Day

(Samantha)
Girls day. It was what Cassidy described our day together, bonding over things we wanted to do that we couldn't do. If it wasn't for her fast speed up plans about us bonding together at least five times a month, I wouldn't really have done something a female wants to do in order for her to be back again in the track of being a female. Getting dolled up....
We used to do it a lot back when we were still young and all happy about living our high school life without that much stressors and stresses. Well—I still couldn't ignore the fact that even during those times, I still have my family life as one of my major stress. But I'm glad life wasn't all that when I was bit a young. I still enjoyed my teenage years with my best friend.
Funny how I was crying a while ago and now that I am walking towards Cornerstone alley to head towards the hair salon where my friend is already there. Now, I am back into having this happy smile shown on my face. I pushed the door and smiled at the lady who greeted me with a friendly smile.
“Good morning, Miss. What can I do for you?” She started asking.
I smiled. “I got a reservation here together with my friend. Can you bring me to Cassidy Loisan, please.” I told her.
“This way, Ma'am. Follow me.” She uttered after extending her arm. She started leading me to a room.
I smiled when I saw my friend's back. So this is her hair care day, today. We met gazes through the mirror.
“I'm glad you're finally here, Sam.” She smiled happily.
I smiled back at her and moved my hands to show her the ordered take outs I have in the plastic bags. “And I brought some food too. Just in case we're going to stay here for a bit longer. We don't want to see a pregnant woman starving.” I stated. She was really turning into a grizzly bear acting out of anger when she's hungry. The mood was even worst when she's now pregnant. The mood swings were all time high for my friend, Cassidy.
She way literally showing me a sunny smile, baring all of her teeth out. Flashing it all as she smiled. Harley turned to give me a look. The guy smiled too.
“Another gorgeous lady here.” He uttered.
I couldn't resist to gave a soft chuckle because of it. “Hello there, Harley. How was your dealing with that pregnant woman?” I asked. I started grinning when my friend suddenly started to frown.
“All good. She managed to be well-behaved.” He commented.
We both laughed in unison after he stared his comment but my friend on the other hand still has the glooming look in her face.
“Both of you were ganging against me. It's not fair.” She frowned.
“C'mon Cass. Stop acting cute because I know for sure someone is going to be more cuter than you.” I eyed her belly and the frown vanished in her face.
Cassidy smiled and her eyes had a sparkle glint in it. “I know. I know that she'll be more cuter than me. She got good genes.” She grinned after saying it.
I nodded my head. Gave out a few nods, acknowledging her comment. “She gave her mama's genes after all.” I walked and placed the plastic bags on the table. Before I walked towards the empty seat beside Cassidy.
“Couldn't help but to agree with you, gorgeous Sam.” Harley uttered.
I smiled at his comment and took a seat. He gestured for his assistants to come forward.
“You want your hair done, hon?” He asked.
I shook my head. “I'll stick with the mani and pedi for now.” I answered.
Harley was very hands-on with his own business. He got a few branches through the metro and he still does the work at times, dealing with his own customers. Cassidy and I both eye each other. The two of us showing each other a knowing look. She then reached out to me. She placed her finger just above my shoulder blades, squeezing my flesh for a bit.
“Are you sure you're alright, my friend?” Cassidy asked in a gently way. “You just went to the—you know. You went to visit them.”
I smiled. Then I started to nod my head at her. I squeeze her hand back to. “I'm fine. Don't worry about me, Cass.”
She stared at me with a sympathetic expression and a warm smile right after I uttered my reply back at her.
I got my nail ls painted. I tried the red french tips. My decision was changed when Harley convinced me. Then I managed to got my hair trimmed for a bit. I was planning to die my hair golden brown next time because I wanted some color, some life in my hair.
Cassidy was ginger but she went with the bright burgundy color. My friend went all the way through having blueberry colored nails. She was inhaling the whiff of the hair spray a while ago and she looked like she 2qs enjoying the smell while she was all dolled up.
We head into the mall. My best friend suddenly was venting all of her frustrations and how she casually uttered in the middle of our conversation that she was hungry. So I accompany Cassidy to go through the covered court.
We were scanning for an empty space to seat and we directly head towards the spot next to the glass window to havea bit of the view outside. Cassidy volunteered to go to the line and have herself order for the both of us even though I told her that I should be the one to do that because I don't wanna see her being tired. But my friend was persistent in her way, so I let it go.
“Sam. Samantha Marie Lucian.” A sultry soothing voice uttered.
My head suddenly moved to see the face of the person who uttered my name in such a lovely voice. The woman was titling her head in a downward manner, angling it to have a better look of my face. My mouth suddenly moved to let my smile out. She suddenly returned the gesture too, displaying warmth in her gaze and her expression.
I just see an old friend...
