(Samantha) I met a good old friend. Lilian... She's looking for a caterer. Cassidy who was all that talkative, tried to suggest my cafés services towards her. Blowing my cover, which isn't a bag thing either. Lilian recently went back in the city to settle her divorce papers. She planned on celebrating her son's birthday party in her parents lawn, a few blocks from where my cafe is at. “The marriage had no redeeming feature.” She uttered. Lilian spoke about differences and such and Cassidy and I can only nod our head up and down at her. “I'm always glad when something collapsed in my life.” Lilian shared. “It's much better to see a not so stable foundation crumbling down. It hurts but it's better that way as it is liberating. Rather than suffering into being imprisoned in that situation forever.” She told us. Cassidy and I— we both shuddered at what she said. We managed to confirm some negoatiations and she left after that, telling me that she'll visit the cafe this weekdays. I smiled after that and directly told her how amazing she was at handling her divorce even she didn't get that certain peaceful closure she just wanted. Cassidy was then casually chugging on coke. I was pulled out from my inner monologue that I have in my brain. She was taking a huge bite out of her sandwich. She was literally getting all of the vegetables out. She purposely laid them in her plate. She was left with the meat inside the bun before she proceeded to eat it. “Are there any weird pregnancy cravings creeping out of you already?” I told her. She shook her head at me. “Mhhm, naw.” She continued chumping on her food. “But I suddenly crave of wanting to have honey mustard in my macaroni.” I was the one who shook my head right after Cassidy said it. We drive through to go to visit Cassidy's grandmother. Granny Pea was a, sweetheart. She was a wonderful person. Growing up with Cassidy we always went to her house during weekends having afternoon tea with her. She loved siesta, taking a short nap while the sun's rays wete hot. She always said her siesta time always made her feel better and she's more stronger when she had that. I closed the cab's door and we head out. I immediately see Grandma Pea who was transferring the petunias in their front lawn. She was basically putting them in front of their house, just near the fences. I immediately waved my hands at her when she turned around. Cassidy ran suddenly towards her grandmother. A horrified looked was in her face. “You shouldn't be down here planting the petunias, Granny. You got high blood pressure. You should rest.” Cassidy whined. Grandma Pea swatted an imaginary fly off with her hands. “I'm fine. I'm fine. There's no need to worry about. I am just here, planting the petunias.” She answered. I went close to help Cassidy in making Granda Pea stand up correctly. She was of old age already and this is one of those things that never changed in her. She still loves plants and flowers. Granda Pea held on to my wrist. She was smiling and looking at me heartily. “How are you my dear Sam?” She asked. I smiled back at her. My fingers went to held her too. “I am fine Granny Pea. How about you?” “Well, I'm good. I'll just take a few minutes of rest and I'll be back to finished this planting.” She uttered. Cassidy and I both exchange gazes. “I think it's best if Cassidy and I will continue the work you have done, Granny Pea.” I told her. The woman smile widened because of what I said. We entered the yard and I saw the lawnmower was run by Chase. While my friend's looking at her man dreamily. I can only stare at them, trying my best not to laugh. But they were cute together. They were always been that cute, minus the arguing and nagging. They'll be good together. I suddenly thought about Gregory. We didn't have that much fun time together. When we talked, sometimes I can't help but compare how clinical it was to converse with him at times. “Sam, what about you?” Cassidy suddenly asked out. She was preparing a charcuterie. “How's your life? With him?” She asked. I suddenly was taken a back because of it. Letting my thoughts of Gregory be pushed away from my head for a bit. I suddenly smiled. “We're good. He's a good man.” I answered. Something passed in her eyes. “I supposed he is. You never grieved about losing your ex-boyfriend over your sister. When it fact what they did was too horrible. It was horrible for me to digest, you know.” Cassidy stated pulling cutting out the cheese with the knife in her hand. I stopped to think about it for a bit. Before I forced myself to at least to show a bit of my smile. “I guess, that's the result of bearing to much disappointment from being in a relationship with David that the moment he did it it was the final straw for me. I finally have my way out in ending things between us without him trying to gaslight and manipulate me to not break up with him.” Whenever he's in the wrong he'll asked for forgiveness and I'll always forgive him. But time had changed and I took a different approach when I saw what was happening between him and Hailey. Cassidy eyed me for a bit. She then managed to smile. “I'm really proud of you, Sam. You're brave for that.” She told me. She was arranging the ingredients she cut off before she then raised her head to stare at me. “You know. I still wanted to make it up to you and your husband for the ruckus we created.” She told me. A delighted look was on her face. “Why don't you two join me and Chase to attend her cousin's wedding. It's far from the city and it's down the countryside. You two can take a break from your work and then utilize this time to bond with each other. What do you think, Sam?” She stated. I smiled. “It's such a wonderful offer, Cass. I think leaving the city to at least breath with the lushness of the being the country side will be good for the both us!” I exclaimed. Feeling the excitement rushed in. -- Gregory had the usual placid and expressionless. He was casually observing the matter that is taking place right in front of him. He was trying his best not to let the simmering nerves he felt get through him upon hearing Liam talked in front of the board. “That's a splendid idea, child.” The old man talked. He was staring at Liam with the proud look on his face. “Right, Gregory?” He eyed Gregory with trying to weigh something as he stared. Gregory's mouth moved that he started smirking. “So we're playing the game of chess in here.” He commented. His gaze moved towards his cousin Liam. Trying to take a hold of himself into telling him that he should mind his own business and not meddle with what he has. The old man went frigid. An insulted expression passed in his face. Gregory then moved his gaze to stare at the individuals who were witnessing the matter that is happening between him and his family members. He then flashed a smile. “Of course, it was brilliant. I supposed you have it planned out already how to start this project off, right cousin?” He ticked.
