Gregory's eyes were pressed on the glass window, showing a view of the city glistening with the lights down below. He was bothered. He took a peak through his wristwatch. “I shouldn't be stucked in this forsaken loop of thoughts.” He seemed to talk himself. Reminding himself to go back into a more logical place. He shouldn't be shaken. He was walking down the hall of the company. The alleys going to the parking lot is dimly lit. Gregory let his eyes wandered, checking if there is someone around. He then kept walking... He arrived at the parking a lot and peered around the spot for a bit. Making sure that he'll have the chance to do what he needs to do. Gregory fumbled with the controls of his remote of his car before getting in. He slammed it up before his hands went to snake in through the upper left side of his suit, getting his cellphone out. He was careful before he dialed a number. If it wasn't for his deep thinking, making this important call might probably slipped through his memory. He had a smirk on his face when the phone was answered. “Check through the expenses report.” Gregory started. “The accounting for profit analysis this quarter and from the last six months. There are differences from that phases of sales receipt. I'm sure you'll find something out.” Gregory then ended the call. His cousin isn't the kind to be hateful shrew but he wasn't totally sure he'll be the kind to save him from the lions. The phone vibrated again. A signal for another call. He immediately answered it. “Babyyy!” He immediately shut his eyes when he heard his mother's voice from the other line. “How are you mother?” He asked with a formal tone. She wasn't that around when he's younger and she still is not around now that he's already married. “I am fine, my baby. I just wanted to tell you that Sofia will be around for the time being. She'll be at the airport this Tuesday afternoon.” He gently massage the bridge of his nose when he heard it. “What do you want me to do then?” He asked. Gregory heard his mother's chuckles on the other line. “Well, you have to look after her in the mean time. You can do that right, baby?” He sighed and eventually accepted the defeat of giving into his mother's request. “I supposed I can, mother.” “Treat her good will you? I want you two to have fun. Bye son!” He was careful again to to think of his desires back then. Gregory had this twitching desire to gauge someone's eyes and to put a piece of duck tape in the mouth of his cousin whom her was mother's favorite. He always had that idea that it will do the trick of shutting her off. Her mother liked Sofia a lot. Maybe it's because she always loved to have a daughter but instead got a son. Maybe that's the reason why she can't at least try to stay and fulfill her duties of being a mother instead of doing her own exploration just to satisfy some of her desires. He called his butler. Mister Rudin was fast to utter his greeting to him. “Apologies for bothering you. But I want you to prepare a card for someone. I'll just text you the details regarding it.” He talked. The man from the other light chuckled. It was an old man's laughter. “Oh she's coming back? The very least you can do for yourself is to try to be happy while tolerating her presence, son. You two are not that young anymore.” He went silent. His butlet knows this too. After conversing for a few minutes, he then ended the call. But even though he already had made calls this evening. He was waiting for someone to call him. He was waiting for that prosecutor to tell him some updates. He then mentally prepare himself for the meeting he will have tomorrow with Mister Akamatsu, their Japanese investor. Gtrgory then remembered someone. His mind reminded him of Samantha. They never really had that conversation in the phone. Somethings do went well but clearly there is a boundary that seems to separate the two of them from fully immersing themselves in their marriage. -- There's a lack. Something is indeed lacking in her and Gregory's conjugal life. “I think what your marriage needs might be a change of scenery.” Casidy's was ideal in her comment. “But there's more to that between the two of you.” The words echoed in her head. Something is really missing in them. She then blinked downward, reminding herself that she's been drifting away from the words she's seeing in the book she had in her hand. She could not understand the words anymore since her head is preoccupied with something. She suddenly closed the thing and put it back on the table. “Should I give him a call?” She asked herself. But they didn't always converse over the phone. She suddenly sighed with the slow frustrating feeling that is building up within her. She reclined in her seat. Her hands touch the softness of the cushion. She leaned. The reason why she couldn't directly go to sleep it's because she's waiting for him. She just could not sleep and not think about her husband and especially Samantha really wanted him to see her back, safely. The door bell rang and she opened her eyes. She immediately felt giddy, excitement suddenly gushed into her blood streams. She rose from her seat and hurried to the living room. Samantha just missed seeing his presence in front of her. She just really wanted to end her evening with something that can make her heart at peace. She opened the door and there she saw Gregory who's gaze suddenly change into something soft. Filled with warmth. Samantha smiled at him. He looked tired but he managed to smile back at her. They just stood in the doorway, eyes staring to each other. Before Gregory did an unexpected move that surprised Samantha. He pulled her close. He pulled her into his embrace. Gregory hugged Samantha...
