“Samantha, are you sure you're okay. You're pale.” Gregory checked on Sam who was still reeling. His hands were on her wrist, putting a firm pressure of his hold. He was looking at her with consideration. “Sam...” He muttered her name again, bringing Sam back to her senses. She stared at Gregory. There's the look. The look she always wanted to received from others. The look of care. She shrugged her head once again. There's no need for fussing. There were thoughts she doesn't have the desire to entertain, especially at this time around. Her stomach twisted. Samantha pushed the bubble of unease in her. Heightened emotions started gushing through her once again. She quickly put them all in the back burner. She shouldnt burden Gregory with what she can tell him just because he has the willing ears to listen to her. “I am. I'm fine.” Gregory did some careful scanning to her. He then pulled her closer to him. He opened the door and Samantha made her entrance first. She walked in slowly. She stopped from making another move when her eyes landed on her sister Grace who still looked like she's in a deep sleep. Warmth envelope her shoulders. She looked up, Gregory smiled at her. “I'll call the doctor.” He said. Samantha nodded. “Thank you.” She mouthed it to him softly. She's been starting to act like she has a soft life too because of Gregory's presence. When he went out that's when she began to sit on an empty chair placed beside Grace's bed. She reached for her sister's hand. “You're still unconscious as ever. But you still look beautiful.” She smiled sadly. “I got married. I got married, Grace. In a church.” She looked at her with enthusiasm. “That's my dream.” She swallowed the pang of sadness in her face. “Only in an unexpected way.” She held on to her sister's hand. Samantha's eyes started to water. “It did not happen the way I planned it Grace. But—my husband. He's good to me and that's all it matters.” She made gentle taps on her sister's hands. “I know that you'll probably tell me that I need to think about the precautions. That I need to be careful of him because he's a stranger. But Grace, I know he's a good man.” Samantha laughed upon recalling the absurd memory she when she remembered what her ex-boyfriend and Macy did in the bedroom. The dumb expression he had on display and the look of pride Macy showed. “You were right about David. He cheated on me, with Macy. Can you believe the treachery that happened behind my back? If I didn't catch them during that exact moment I wouldn't know. David did not even bother to explain why he went behind my back. He was full of his nonsensical apologies.” “And Macy... She's the worst.” She added. She explained how she thought of wanting to get even with Macy. She wanted her to feel the same pain she inflicted towards her. Macy was always been the bold one amogg the three of them but she never can understand how her boldness was not put into good use. Their adopted parents were also cruel with their negotiations. They morals were corrupt. It was obviously clear to her that even when Macy is in the wrong they were always take her side. And will never take hers... “I hope you will wake up soon. I miss you so much, Grace. I really miss you so much. All of these, everything I am telling you it will be better if we can talk about it when you're awake.” It will be so much better when she can see her sister's laughter and she will tell Sam of her point of view. Just like the conversations they had together before she was in coma. Those simple moments were something cherishable for Samantha. Samantha continued conversing to her sister Grace who was still in a vegetative state. The doctor told her that the voices of a family member could help with the improvement of the responsiveness of people in coma. She told her everything. She told her sister of how she felt about the sudden changes in her life that happened. A careful knock can be heard from the outside at the same time the door was opened. She smiled at Gregory and at Mr. Santi. The doctor went near Grace while her husband directly went to rush to her side still giving her his careful attention. Her hands went to reach for his arms and hold them. “Doctor, how's my sister?” She did an immediate asking towards him. She just wanted to know if her sister's situation improves. “Her MRI scan showed some neurological improvements.” He handed her the files he's been holding. “You can read her results.” He uttered it with the retained voice of formality. She received the file with a glaze of happiness in her eyes. Her eyes started to feel watery too upon the doctor's statement. “Thank you, Doc.” Samanths stared at her sister when she suddenly feel something. Her eyes went down, her sister's forehand moved. She abruptly turned her head at the doctor. “Grace's forehand just moved, Doc. It moved!” Her tone rise upon her utterance. The doctor hurried to the side to check Grace. He then was telling instructions towards the nurse that accompanied him. Samantha's heart were beating fast. Grace moved. There's a possibility that she hears her voice. The doctor started to talked about the improvements in Grace's state and it left Samantha feeling relieved. With an effort to console her, Gregory's hand went on her back as he pulled her close for an embrace. Samantha stilled. She wasn't expecting Gregory's sudden gesture. He was giving her. The palpitations she felt in her heart seemed to went erratic even more. Her eyes went big. She can feel Gregory too. He's still. She slightly moved, pushing him away slowly to see his face. Samantha's shocked suddenly changed into a bemused one when she saw that it was not only her who was shocked with what Gregory did but he too was startled as well.
