KIRA’s POV
Never in my life was I imprisoned like some kind of animal. Even Alpha Ace himself treated me with so much kindness and respect even when he kind of hated me the first time we met. 
But most of all, I did not expect that it would be my kind that would betray me like this. Bound in chains, with nothing to drink and nothing to eat. The whole cage was dirty filled with animal dung and pee as if a pig was kept here before us. 
And since I have somehow shared my mate’s sensitive senses, the mere smell of the animal dung was enough to put me to sleep. 
I wanted to wallow in self-pity but what I am experiencing is not near to what Alpha Kais is experiencing. He has been silent with some occasional grunts and growls. He’s the one being affected here the most.
I am just glad that we are in the same cage and that we would be able to talk. Also, I am happy that they did not put poison on him. Because if they did, then our chance of escaping is zero percent. 
They seemed to have transferred us already when I fell asleep earlier cause the cage is not rumbling anymore and the vehicle stopped moving. I assume we have already arrived at the destination. 
I glanced at Alpha Kai beside me who couldn’t even care less if I was dead. He seemed to be too busy keeping his mouth shut and planning with himself, not even spilling his plan to me. I admit it was kind of hurtful but I respect it since I know I would only blow things off. It’s best that he would keep it a secret from me.
“So, what should we do?” I asked the grumpy alpha beside me. I still couldn’t believe how the hell I am in this position. 
“Wait for the right time. Just do as they say or shut your mouth. We need to buy time.” He ordered and remained his expressionless face. 
One of the fowlers came in and then caressed my cheek, “Hmm, hello there, my fellow human!” He waved at me, and winked, “How does it feel to be the Lycan King’s mate?” I knew he was mocking me and I just raised my eyebrows at him. He has this strange hat on his head. I bet he thinks that looks stylish but it only makes him look stupid.  
Another two came in behind him and I took a moment to observe them. They were wearing various human weapons from high tec guns, bows, arrows, swords, daggers, and even bombs that contain a special type of liquid enough to rule us out.
I glanced beside me, seeing that Kai was shaking his head, giving me a signal.
He didn’t have to utter a word, I know exactly what he was meaning to. Don’t let them win. Don’t let their mockings get to me so I need to shut my mouth off. 
A girl with a lollipop grabbed her gun and pointed at me, “Shall we start then?”
I would feel threatened by the gun, scared for my life, but I know they wouldn’t kill me unless they could obtain information from me. Ah, I guess it’s torture time. 
“Don’t be too hard on her.” Said another guy, “She looks too pretty for her face to be broken. Be careful not to break her, I’ll use her later.”
I gritted my teeth, listening to their conversation. I wanted to gag at their words. This? This is what my kind has turned into? Every day, I am fighting a battle of wanting to trust my kind, yet they just never did something right other than fail me.
 The moment when Ace got me from that damn old house, I knew it wouldn’t be the same anymore, and since then, I admit that I hate my kind. So much that I would even betray them because they betrayed me first. 
I knew that humans are the real enemy here. And I deeply regret being born as a human. I am ashamed to be even called human. Gosh, if only I can change my whole identity, I would, and I’ll choose to be a werewolf. 
Are they even part of the government? Or private organization for them to be freely hunting everyone like this?
Whatever torture they would do to me, I would never reveal any secrets of the werewolves clan. I have to keep that in mind. 
One of the men in his 20’s started to approach me, “You’re the very first human who has an alpha mate, right?”
I stayed still, growling at them, deciding when to attack as he continued on his comments, “Ah, she’s not talking to us…have they already grown on you? Put something in your food so you will choose them more than us? You’re going to betray your kind?”
The man then pointed at the wound on my face, “What did they do to you there, huh?”
Before his filthy hands could even get near my face, I instantly bit his pinky finger, making him yelp in pain.
“Get your hands off of me!” Said the man, groaning in pain. 
“She won’t talk if you keep on pressing on her life that…let’s just put her in the torture room.” Said the old man with a hat, somehow sensing it was their leader.
‘Torture me all you want but I won’t spill anything,” I growled, threatening them all. Alpha Kai beside me was just staying still. 
“Yes, since you're gonna be useless, we’re just gonna throw you into the ocean then.” said the girl behind. 
“Try to do that, I swear you’re going to get a taste of hell.” I fired back, not wanting to hear any of their sh*ts as they laughed. I have never killed anyone but goodness, facing these demons in front of me makes me want to kill them. 
I can sense their fear though, hidden behind those fake laughs. And they are keeping us in this cage with chains on, it’s obvious they are still on high alert, scared for us. 
“Awe, do you think you’re alpha will go here? We made sure to put the poison on him.” 
My jaw dropped at that..no…I saw them hitting an arrow at Ace, but I didn’t know there would be poison in that. I masked my shocked expression as they continued chuckling to themselves. 
But I trust Ace. He would heal in time to come and save us. For now, all we need to do is stay alive. Buy some time. 
They grabbed a stick and poked Alpha Kai, who has been sitting quietly and closing his eyes.
“And you, are you dead? You’re not moving..” The man with a hat asked. 
Kai wasn’t responding, and he looked too weak that even I was a bit nervous for him. 
Yet I sensed his pulse so I am sure he is alive. Ah, I see what he’s doing there. He would pretend to be weak and when they’ll open the cage, we’ll attack. 
Their leader sighed and stopped his subordinates, “Back off, he’s a high caliber!”
The girl had managed to pierce a bullet in his stomach and blood poured out on him.
“Don’t fire at him!” hissed their leader irritatedly, “We need him in full health to gain a higher price!”
I blinked, Higher price? I thought they would torture us.
This isn’t…what I am thinking was it?
There are two ways that I think humans do to strange creatures. Either they experiment with them and lock them in a lab, or they would sell them on the black market. 
By the looks of it, I think they are going for the second option. Which means that they are not a government-owned organization. 
They are a private organization. And this is illegal. They would be sentenced to death once caught.
Blood was gushing out from Alpha Kai’s stomach as he grunted. 
Just then, the fowlers grabbed a tin can and opened it, and a green smoke suddenly filled the air, engulfing the area.
I instantly closed my mouth to not breathe in that strange substance, keeping my senses clear as I know whatever the hell that can have was made to harm us. I also covered Alpha Kai’s nose. 
However, as much as I prevented myself from breathing it. It was all useless as the moment it had contacted my skin, I could no longer see clearly, my mind hazy and I feel dizzy. All of my senses faded…my sense of sight, smell, and hearing.
But I could see them a bit as they covered our faces with a mask, grabbed the big cage they had, and walked over to me.
“Sleep well, my dear.” Said the leader as he grabbed my body. I attempted to fight, managing to break his nose but they were quick to put another chain on me. They even placed a big metal necklace on my neck and I winced, feeling it scraping the skin around my neck.
“Try to escape and this necklace will cut your head off.” He whispered, and I felt my body being dragged to another room. I couldn’t see Alpha Kai now. 
I tried to fight back and gain my senses, but it sting my eyes so much that all I could see now was darkness.
Ah, Ace, Where the hell are you? I need you now…
