48 Living hell

ARYA’S POV
And the same familiar smile haunted me, “Hello, Arya.”
There’s no one else who could copy Kai other than his brother, Zef.
I was shocked, but there was no time to lose as I attacked the impostor. I had tried to smell Zef but the imposter who was copying Kai smelled different. Unfamiliar.
I am sure Zef wouldn’t do this that is why I am sure it’s just some random impostor who wants to break Kai and Zef’s bond.
I was able to land a hit and make the imposter faint for a few seconds.
Thank goodness Alpha Kamilah and Alpha Magnus, with Maximus and Gusev, arrived in time. We managed to get the impostor locked up in the dungeon.
And although that matter has been a bit solved, I couldn’t forget the last thing I heard from the impostor.
“You’re lovely Kai and Kira is in a tight situation.”
Alpha Ace had heard it too, that is why he has been getting restless and instanlty ran ahead, without even fully healed. I wanted to stop him, but I realized it would be useless so I instantly go after him.
The sun is rising, and another day has completely passed. I completely understand Alpha Ace. Like him, I cannot wait any more, as much as I want to pretend to be fine because I am dying of worry trying to think if Kai is still alive there.
Good thing that Alpha Kamilah revealed to me the passages in the fowlers and about how many guards and fowlers are surrounding the area.
“You’re coming with me?” Alpha Ace asked as I managed to keep up with him.
I smirked at him, “Of course, I wouldn’t let you have all the fun.”
He scoffed at me, “Then better step out of my way. Do not slow me down.”
I raised my eyebrows, instanlty running up ahead of him as I yelled, “Who said I would?”
He sighed, “Damn, I never imagined I would be working with you.”
That made me roll my eyes at him, “Me too.”
We shifted in our wolves to arrive sooner. We ran for a few miles, and an hour passed when we finally arrived at their base. We decide to hide in the bushes and observe the situation first, shifting back to our human form and I muttered a curse, looking at our naked bodies.
This won’t do. We can’t enter without any clothes on. This would be suspicious. Humans are sensitive and modest creatures.
The whole building was located in deserted woods and some cars were parked everywhere. A few humans were coming out of the fancy cars with lots of bodyguards behind them. I knew they would be important humans here. They like to collect some strange creatures after all.
I glanced at Ace, “Let’s blend in.”
A woman dressed in pure diamonds and silky red sequins trailing down her long gown was walking along with a man on her arm.
I gave a signal to Ace and he nodded. I grabbed the woman while Ace grabbed the man.
The two looked at us horrifyingly.
“Uhm…who are you?” Asked the woman.
I pointed to her dress, “I need a dress.”
I managed to knock her out and stripped her down so I could wear her dress. Ace did the same too and when we were prepared, we decided to head inside the building.
We had blended in the crowd, and from afar, I could hear the yells of people and their excited cheers as we got nearer. The whole place was crowded. As if an underground meeting place. There must be about 100 humans here, as far as I could estimate.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is our last and most special item for today!” I heard a man speaking from it.
Just then, the two men who were dragging a familiar scent…it was Kai! They removed the cloth from his face!
I gulped, seeing him standing there besides another human.
So this is an auction…except an illegal auction where they extort humans, werewolves, vampires, and some sort. A spotlight flashed on Alpha Kai and I could see him adjusting his eyes at the sudden brightness.
How could Kai not sense me? Have they dulled his senses?
I tried to communicate with him through mind link but it seemed to be blocked by something.
“Where the f*ck is Kira?” Asked Ace beside me.
I tried to sense her but I couldn’t pinpoint where she is. “Can you mind linking her?”
He paused but then shook his head, “No.”
“Representing you, a very rare creature. Have you watched the movie Twilight?” The crowd yelled in answer and the emcee laughed, “Well then, you must be aware of the werewolf's appearance and this man here is a very special creature! Not just because he is a werewolf, but he is an alpha!”
The crowd gasped, some even started whispering.
“Don’t believe me?” He was trying to get Kai triggered and attack everyone, yet Kai was staying still.
They all went silent, staring at him until they all cheered again.
The emcee gathered all the screams and announced, “The bid starts now!”
I watched everything in horror with only one thing in mind. I want nothing but to burn down this whole building, along with its people. My fists clenched tighter and I gritted my teeth.
I cannot let this go on.
I was about to go to the stage but Alpha Ace’s hand stopped me.
“As much as you want to attack them now, we must blend in.” He reminded me.
“$1000.” A man yelled.
The bidding just up and up, rising in each as the humans raised their bids on him.
“So, anyone higher than 500 thousand dollars?”
The emcee asked when ten minutes had passed and the bidding was still ongoing.
“Higher than $800 thousand?” Asked the emcee again as the bidding gets high each minute.
“$900!”
“$1 million!”
“$1.5 million!”
Said old men who were ravaging him with their eyes. I looked at them disgustingly. I couldn't help but think how stupid everyone looks. Are rich people nowadays so lonely that they pay a literary million just to have him?
“Okay, last bid for tonight? 1.5 million?”
“2.5 million!”
“5 million!”
“20 million!”
“50 million.”
“He’s getting sold,” I mumbled to Ace, not bearing to watch this anymore.
“Yes, and I still can’t find my mate.” He said through gritted teeth, “I’ll look and find her now.” He was about to disappear into the crowd.
“1 Billion.” I raised my hands in the air, and I could see the look of disapproval on Alpha Ace’s face through the crowd. I shrugged, knowing we don’t have that money but that does not matter anyway. We will destroy this whole dan place in the end so what is that point?
No one will dare to snatch Alpha Kai from me. No one.
Gasps came from the crowd and I wanted Kai to see me.
The emcee grinned and announced, “Okay we got our last bid for tonight, ladies and gentleman! Only best for this lovely creature here!”
People began to leave and the emcee motioned for me to wait in the waiting room in the back. Two men in suits approached me and guided me to Kai now.

They put a blindfold on me and once we were alone, I hit them in the shins and made them sleep.
I removed the blindfold on me and was greeted with a very white room. Nothing was laced here except Kai in chains, blindfold, and with cloth around his nose and mouth.
I approached him, “Have you become weak that you need me to save you?”
This is the first time I have seen him being held captive like this and as much as I want to tease him, we are running out of time. I removed his blindfold and the clothes from his nose. My voice broke and tear after tear fell like waterfalls. He’s here. Finally here. The real Kai and not just the impostor. I instantly let my guard down as all I could think was happiness.
My lips curved up in a smile, a tear escaped my eyes from seeing him, and pure relief washed over me. “Was my cover so good that you didn’t recognize me?” I teased, thankful that he was still alive. I checked his body for any wounds and was glad that only a few scratches were there. Thank goodness for his fast alpha healing abilities.
I wanted to tell him everything, and I knew he already understand it as he read all my thoughts. He then leaned in and smashed his lips into mine.
I melted in his kiss and savored every second. Ah, it felt like forever since I last tasted him.
“My mate, my Arya…what took you so long?” He asked, and I wanted to hit him, how we were helpless without him, how everything turned sh*t, I wanted to tell him everything right there but we need to leave now.
“You could have escaped yourself. Or you just wanted me to save you?” I teased him.
“Well, I was waiting for the right time, I was cautious since Ace’s mate is a human, one wrong move and she’s dead.” He broke the chains on his hands and feet and as soon as he was free, he stood up, and stretch his neck as he pulled me into a hug.
“You could have let me die here. Thought you wanted to have your revenge?” He whispered into me.
I lightly hit him, wanting to scold him, “Not like this, bastard.”
His lips curved into a smirk, licking his lips as he cracked his knuckles hard. “Now, now, let’s make those bastards pay. I’ve been held captive enough. Time to make their life a living hell.”
