55 Remulius

Gone were the soft eyes that I was once used to. “You betrayed me, your twin. You let her out.”
My throat tightened. His eyes looked sinister, but the way Zef’s voice broke at the end made my throat hollow.
Kai breathed deeply, “Zef, release us first.”
He shook his head, “No! You impregnate her with your pups. How nice must it be to escape from me and have her all to yourself? Didn’t you even consider how she is also tied to me? I marked her first.”
So he knows.
He was being sarcastic, and he had the right to get angry. But I think they need to talk first. A matter of the twin's conversation.
Now that I realize it, it felt like I couldn’t feel Zef’s thoughts. Unlike last time. It seems he cut off our connection.
Just like how he cut off Kai’s.
Gosh, everything happened slowly but it felt so fast like it was just yesterday.
Kai, who looked unfazed at his brother’s outbursts, stood his ground, “Brother, we can talk things out. Punish me if you want but not Arya. She’s innocent.”
I glanced at him. Kai? Are you hearing yourself? It’s also my fault, I should also take responsibility for this.
“Innocent? No, she’s not! I marked him first! Where’s your conscience, Kai!” He scoffed, “You think you won something just because you get her?”
Kai gnawed in his teeth, “Brother, I am not competing anymore. I love her.”
Zef burst into fits of laughter, “Haha, I didn’t know that Kai turned into a joker. I never knew you could crack jokes.” He wiped the fake tears from his eyes, “And you believe him? Arya, wake up. You just fell into his trap. Kai is capable of loving anyone. even his own twin brother.”
Kai shook his head, still determined to talk, “We have been through worse. Let Arya out.”
“Good. You deserve it. I prayed for your misfortunes since you two eloped together.”
I blinked. So…that fowler's incident and his imposter, it was all him along? He saw the fear in my eyes and chuckled, “Yes, you’re right. It’s me.”
He then grabbed a handful of my hair, “Ah, still the same Arya. Beautiful and foxy whore.”
He then gulped seeing my slightly bulging belly. “Except for that. How about we get rid of that?”
Kai instantly growled, his hands instantly holding my stomach to protect our pups,
“Go and attempt to do that and I won’t hesitate to kill you.”
“I am not scared of you, brother.” Zef was inched closer to Kai now, breaking now contact, “Remember, you are my prey now.”
“Anyways, rest up. I’ll torture you later after you meet a very special someone.”
Dropping that, he turned away and left us alone.
Very special someone? Who is it?
I breathed deeply, my hands instinctively holding my stomach.
I licked my lips, feeling my throat dry, “Your brother..he’s become worse.”
Kai nodded, “I’ll let us out here.”
I decided to keep quiet, having doubts now about why we even came back here just to fall under Zef’s cell.
Laughter suddenly echoed from across our cell, followed by some clapping.
Kai stood alert, and I instantly backed to the wall.
“Who is there?” Kai demanded, Speak or I’ll cut your tongue.”
A scoff followed, and I could hear the sound of chains dangling as a face appeared from across us with a wide grin, “As if you could do that here.”
It was dark but his face was clear to me. He looked exactly like Kai…no, Like Zef! Except this one does not have any tattoos or piercings like the twins.
“What is happening?” I voiced out, confused.
Kai stiffened beside me, “You’re the impostor…the bastard trying to copy Zef!”
I instantly realized it. Remembering that incident with the fowlers.
The same man who I thought Zef was.
I instantly smirked, “Oh? You have the guts to show your face after that.”
The man pouted, “Excuse me, I understand your anger but I was only ordered.”
I raised my eyebrows, “Who? Tell me who your superior is and I’ll cut off his head after I tore limbs.”
The man looked at me like I disgusted him, “I knew it was a bad decision to let you stay with these Midnight pack alphas. You have become barbaric.”
Barbaric? I wanted to tear down the cell and choke the hell out of this impostor when he suddenly said something that made us shocked.
“So Zef captured you here. So how come you have that energy to be a bastard?” Kai was forming a fist to get out of the cell now.
“I am your third twin, Kai. Stop calling me an imposter just because we have the same face. As if I chose to have the same face as you.” He rolled his eyes, revealing that as if it was so casual. Kai’s stoic face remains unchanged, “Stop spitting that bloody shit and I’ll cut your throat.”
I paused, taking a careful look at his face. He did indeed share the same face with Zef and Kai. The same body builds with a large and muscular body. However, this one looks sly and untrusting. We won’t know if he was just bluffing us just to distract us.
“Hi there, my mate.” My thoughts were stopped as he called me and flashed a wink at me. Kai was boiling in anger now, and I was still observing things.
“Mate? Why are you calling-“
“I am their sibling, so technically, they share the same mate with me.” He tried to explain. “Such a waste how I didn’t even get to spend some time with you and have our first meeting here in the cell.”
“Enough spitting shit, bastard!” Kai growled, “You don’t have the right to be my twin and steal my mate.”
He sighed, acting like everything here is such a carefree and light matter. “Awe, that’s sad. My superior with hearing about this.”
Kai pushed the cell, “Only if you get out alive.”
The man chuckled again, “Awe, I can see how I can’t get along with you. Your type of humor is a bit off. You need to work on that, right brother?”
Just then, Zef returned with a smirk, “Yes. I am back again. How are things here?”
Zef then opened the imposter’s cell as he speak, and loosened the chain from his hands.
The imposter then patted Zef’s back and winked, “Good thing I am friends with Zef. He knows me by heart, we only met but we have been close.”
Damn this. One look at this new and strange imposter claiming to be their third twin is enough for me to hate him.
Zef then turned to Kai who was still not digesting the moment.
“Kai, I am introducing you to our twin… Remulius“
“Call me Rem…” He bowed a bit, “Nice to meet you, twin.”
The fact that Zef knows this and keeps him here shows that he instantly accepted this fact.
“Why are you believing this imposter? He tried to copy you while we were outside, Zef.” Kai was trying to make some sense out of Zef but it seems to be too late as this man had put him in his trap.
He was far too deep in the well for him to wake up in this mess.
Really, what happened to this place while we were gone? I have to know everything! I must ask Amari once I see her.
“From now on, I don’t have any other twin than Rem.”
Kai huffed, looking at Zef with a disappointed expression, “I just left and you’ve grown dumber, Zef.”
Zef instantly pushed Kai, “You fuck! Did you think that I had taken it instantly? It’s a fact! I had gone to the necromancer and said he is of our blood! Father had purposely hidden him from us just so we could rule these lands!”
Remulius, raised his eyebrows at Kai and then put his hands over Zef’s shoulder to lean on him. “What other reason should you deny my existence, Kai, my brother? We are triplets, you should be glad!”
He was beaming at us, shining radiantly as if we are not in the middle of a heated argument. The tension filled the air and it made it even hotter.
Kai’s lips were twitching in anger, and with one move, his fist landed on the Remiulus with a large sound that I think the bones on his nose broke.
