57 Luna

The three of them stayed together, keeping watch on me after that. The older woman was reminding them something about how to make me heal faster and they seemed to be taking it seriously.
Kai was in charge of my meals while Zef was in charge of cleaning and Rem was guarding outside the packhouse.
I was surprised that they managed to get along together when they face me, minus the random insults but they seemed to slowly get used to each other.
Or they were just pretending to be fine with each other just for the sake of me.
Nevertheless, as long as they are good, then I would recover sooner. I was surprised that Zef was taking my pregnancy seriously, contrary to the threats he made the first time he kept us in the dungeon. I thought he would be happy that my pups would be dead but turns out that was just his way of saying he misses us.
He was just jealous, and I was wondering how could I manage my time now that I have not two, but three mates taking care of me.
I never felt lonely as all my three mates were there to take care of me. They finally managed to solve their problem as they schedules their time for me. In the morning, Zef would greet me. Afternoon, Rem would accompany me and tell me stories so I wouldn’t get bored.
And Kai is scheduled by night as he would cuddle with me and hold my hands. Although he would sometimes get touchy and too possessive, I would stop him before he would plant his seeds on me again.
He would complain about how he was abstaining and how hard it is for him, but he just gets fine.
I didn’t know how they managed to have this compromise considering how no one would back down but they seemed to understand how critical my condition is now o as much as their aloha genes could, they stay away from trouble. Or at least… is not in front of me.
Zef was always out but he would sometimes find the time to visit me. Kai was always beside me and he would go to train the pack members. Since he left, everyone seemed to not trust him so he is making up for them by proving himself to them.
As for Rem, he looks like he is fitting in nicely. He seemed to slowly got used to everything here and had adapted just right.
Since its morning, Zef came to visit me with a food tray in his hands.
Although not having any appetite, I forced myself to eat as it's not only me that is in this body. I have other mouths to feed inside.
“How are you feeling?” He asked, keeping his distance from me.
I know he wanted to get closer but he fears he would do something out of his senses so he’s backing away as if I was a plague.
“I’m doing…better,” I replied.
“Good…does it…hurt still?” He asked, about my belly. He couldn’t bring himself to call them “pups” but he is still worrying about me.
I knew his pain, he must have felt betrayed but what can he do? Kai’s pups are inside me now. It’s not like he can pull it out of me.
Zef is Zef. No matter how cruel he is now, he is still him. He is the same.
I offered a small smile to him, “Not that much, I can tolerate the pain.”
He sighed, “alright, just call me if anything bad happens.”
“You don’t want to kill my pups now?” I brought up, as much as I am scared.
“No. If I would, then I might die too.”  He answered, “Your pain is my pain. So if you lose them,  I will feel worse.”
“Every time I see you, either you’re wounded or hurt.” He said, “Kai needs to take better care of you. He’s failing at that.”
I nodded. He is still Zef. Deep inside that exterior, he is still the old Zef I know.
Just lesser caring and much more intimidating.
Well technically, I don’t trust Rem that much. I am still in the process of observing him and what he is about to unfold.
The door opened and a smirking Rem appeared. “Time is up. My turn now.”
He motioned for Zef to leave and Zef took one last glance at me before walking away.
Rem was nice, surprisingly. But he’s sly. So I am not trusting him.
Rem walked inside and looked at me. “Hey.”
I stiffened, my hands protectively holding my belly.
His eyes trailed on my belly, “I can feel that you still don’t trust me.”
I cleared my throat, “You appeared out of nowhere. What’s your plan? Are you a spy?”
I knew I was too direct but he just chuckled, “Ah, you caught me….” He then circled, pacing back and forth in the room. His body then went closer to me.
“If I am one, what will you do?” He raised his eyebrows, “Want me to kill them for you so you can have your revenge?”
Words stuck out of my mouth and I was too stunned to even speak. His tone was serious that I was panicking and wanted to send a message to Kai and pull Rem away here. He is definitely stressing me out.
Silence came until he burst into fits of laughter. It was echoing across the whole room, and I swear I wanted to push his head off for finding it funny as if he was both mocking and bullying me for the idea of revenge.
His eyes shifted to me with a lopsided grin, “Awe, what's that frown for? Did you really believe that? Well, I have to warn you, I’m just joking. ” He said, "They say I was never the serious type of person, so do not believe what I said."
I maintained my poker face, scowling at him, “That’s not a good joke. That’s treason.” I said, “And you are their triplet.”
“I apologize.” He bowed, “But you know, you will meet him soon. My superior...."
I raised my eyebrows at him, wanting to question him about that when I was cut off by a new arrival's voice.
"Future Luna." A familiar voice of a she-wolf called for me, bowing before walking towards me and carrying a big box with her.
"Amari." I nodded at her, now sitting upright, "you came. What is that?"
I am both very curious and wanted to ask her more questions too about what happened in the pack when we left but Rem was still here.
"Can you leave us alone for a minute?" I asked him, wanting us to have some privacy.
"Awe, can I join in your conversation?"  He was hopeful that I would say yes.
Tsk, too bad, I shook my head, "No. You and I are not close enough to even interact. Go. Leave us I ordered, adding a command to my voice now for him to leave but then he wouldn't leave. This made him more excited as he  flashed me a beaming smile, "So if I try to be closer to you, you'll allow me to be beside you longer?"
"Perhaps." I lied, knowing that would damn anywhere near possible.
When he left, Amari decided to speak and pointed to the box she was carrying, "Future Luna, Alpha Kai ordered me to bring this to you."
I  nodded, "what is that?"  What did Kai plan now?
"Your dress. For tonight. In your enthronement as the Luna," Her words almost left me frozen.
"What? Tonight?" How did Kai plan this? Zef was so against it, and how did they manage to talk it out? I want to stand up and run to Kai now but I maintained my composure.
"How did he make Zef say yes?" I asked, knowing damn well Zed would rather kill his twin than let him have me.
That made Amari become silent. And I could sense how she tensed up from my question.
"Speak, Amari. Answer my question."
She gulped, biting her lip and avoiding eye contact with me, "Uhm... I am not supposed to say this...the alpha strictly ordered me-"
"What did Kai order you not to ell me?" I cut her sentence off, she was stammering now, unable to find an excuse for whatever the hell she was avoiding revealing to me.
"He assumed you would be angry and he might kill me if I tell you this.....but-"
"He won't be, not unless I kill you first. Now answer my question."
Amari drew a heavy sigh, "He...made a bet with Alpha Zef in exchange for you to become his luna. He was almost killed and-"
I gasped, "Take me to him. Now."
