Amari drew a heavy sigh, "He...made a bet with Alpha Zef in exchange for you to become his luna. He was almost killed and-" I gasped, "Take me to him. Now." Despite Amari’s complaints, I managed to push her to take me to where Kai is right now. However, when I arrived at the scene in front of me, it was Rem holding a Kai down, stopping him from attacking something on the ground. “Brother, stop it. You’re killing him. He’s our twin.” “Yes, and you’re next if you still try to stop me.” That was Kai’s response to Rem. I felt a lump in my throat seeing Zef on the ground, looking lifeless. He looks dead. My eyes trailed to the bloody body and bruises of Zef. “Arya,” Kai called me, sensing my arrival. His smile faltered, glancing at Amari, “I told you not to tell her.” Amari gulped, and I pulled her aside, blocking her, “No, I forced her to tell me.” I gritted my teeth, angry at what he did. “You just…killed your twin, like that?” Kai gritted his teeth. “Oh, he’s not dead. I just taught him some lessons.” There is no way this is real. The pack’s healer came and carried Zef’s body inside the infirmary. I glared at Kai, “You’re insane. That’s your twin!” As much as I have hated Zef for looking down on me ever since we returned, I did not want to harm him like that! His eyes looked sad, as if this wasn’t the reaction he wanted, “I did it for you, Arya.” I looked at Rem beside him who was quietly watching us. “And you, you didn’t even stop them. Or told me.” “You needed to rest. We don’t want to stress you out and the pups.” Damn. I had always thought that Kaj changed for the better. But I feel disappointed now. As much as I know that he had his reasons, he shouldn’t have gone that far and acted without me! “You-“ I huffed, walking away and going to the infirmary to check on Zef. When I entered the infirmary, I could see Zef laying on the bed, still unconscious. His face was almost unrecognizable from all the bruises, so Kai must have hit him that much. I stared at his body for a few minutes, still processing it. Kai was willing to kill his own twin just to name me his luna. That was an idea that I was excited about, a long time ago. But things are different now…. Rem suddenly appeared behind me, “You should go and treat Kai, “ “Why? I am not tolerating him.” I answered. “Want me to tell you what really happened ?” Rem suggested. I hesitated but nodded “Well, Zef wanted to talk to Kai about your pups. Kai agreed, but Zef suddenly started to talk badly about you and how he could have been the better father. I hadn't heard the entire thing Zef said since I just appeared a few minutes ago but Apparently, Zef’s insults were out of bounds that Kai couldn’t stomach it and things got heated.” Rem said. “I knew Zef was purposely doing that just to irritate Kai's note and Kai did not let that pass.” I nodded, biting my lip. I wanted to not believe Rem since he is not trustable enough to be a source and he sighed. “You don’t believe me, do you?” He asked. I sighed. “It's just the story came from you. I want to hear s other side.” I started to walk away and met Kai in his room. I sighed. Grabbing the medicine kit, I sat beside him and tended to his wounds. He was quietly watching me and breathed. “I thought you were angry at me.” “You drill feel some feeling to him even though he locked us in a cell, insulted you behind your back, and hated our pups?” “No. It is just he is also my mate, and my body is confused and still considers him as one. I just can’t bear seeing him like that now.” I answered him. He nodded. “You know that I can kill him for you, right?” “Yes, it’s clear now.” “Return to your room and prepare for tonight. I can’t have you stressed before the ceremony.” He said and looked at my belly, “It would be bad for our pups.” I nodded. I prepared myself for tonight. Amari came to help me. I wore the dress that Kai gave me. It was a royal blue long dress that hugs my curves well. I am surprised he managed to have the time to buy it for me for this occasion. He also has an eye on what shits my body plus my size, he got it right. “How’s the scene? Did the pack members know about Zef?” “No. We kept it a secret. But they seem to still hate Kai for leaving and returning…” Amari answer. “Do not worry, it will take time before they will accept you again.” When I stepped outside. I was met with the cold walkway and the stares of the pack members. They look dead and h alive. I could sense their rage toward Kai, who was standing at the center of the stage a few meters away from me. The pack’s healer came, eyes focused on me as he smiled. "I am glad we have finally found the pack's luna." He said, and I nodded, not sure if I really did desire that title. He then turned to the pack members who had an expression that says they would rather not go here tonight. “Good evening members. We have gathered tonight to seal the deal between our alpha and his fated luna.” He started. “Watch and support our alpha as he becomes one with his Luna. For the pack!" "For the pack." The pack members shouted simultaneously. The healer turned to me, grabbing my hand softly as he guided me to where Kai was. He made me face Kai and said, "Let your hands bid to each other.” Kai grabbed my hand gently and kissed it. His eyes pierced me. Just from the touch alone, I could feel very intense pain in Kai’s hands. Followed by a cold breeze as the sky thundered. A few raindrops fell on our shoulders. “No matter what, don’t let go.” The healer said as he started to murmur some memorial words, concreting the ceremony and making it official. However, the pain had grown stronger and stronger and I don't think I would manage to bear it further. The pain was sharp and intense, taking my breath away as fought on. I could see Kai was struggling too but he was clenching his jaw, trying to stay strong for the both of us. Seems that our connection was too strong that I couldn'tbreatheh. I collapsed on the ground and was catching my breath. There seems to be an invisible barrier that has been stopping us. The healer was shouting words at me but I couldn't hear him. It felt like I was pulled into an abyss, a hollow barrier was in its wake, entrapping me from within. "Arya!!" I could hear Kai screaming, getting agitated, and panicking at my state as he wanted to help me ease my pain. But I couldn't see him. It felt like my peripheral was blocked and I suddenly got blind. I only trusted my sense of smell and hearing, and my instincts about what is happening. Are we invaded? Is someone controlling me right now? Questions and my head, but I was worrying for my pups. If I am stressed, then they would be twice as much. I do not want them to experience that. Everyone was panicking, including the pack member who seemed to be against us. I could feel Amari's presence beside me, trying to make me stand up but then, my belly started aching. "My...belly!" I screamed out loud, asking for help, and I could hear noises from everyone. I closed my eyes shut, my ears ringing from all the sensations when suddenly, clapping from the background was heard. Time suddenly stopped as all the noise started to stop in my head, and I somehow got calmer. The pain seemed to disappear at the new man's words.
