Chapter 25: Natural Oxygen

Wake Louchette
Sarah looked so horrifically aggravated as she saw the wound got healed. I guess she has no idea about what she has done. Maybe? I was wondering if that is even possible! Her body kept moving backward, shivering to see my healed hands.
My eyes widened in the tense of the magic that she did. I can't believe she has that capability. I am sure that this will bring big help in the medical field, but I think it would produce questions from those experts. As I witnessed what Sarah did, I can't help but asked myself several times if what I saw was real.
I wasn't dreaming, I guess?
Lately, I have witnessed how Sarah did these peculiar events. I even remembered that time when a sudden disappearance of my jacket happened, which turned into water. It raised many suspicions to the ones who witnessed that event, especially the officers. In our case, we already forecasted the possible abilities that Sarah might later cast. It was just that we did not expect that we'll be experiencing more of her.
Sarah stared at me like a lion with eagerness to attack its prey. Her eyes were pessimistic as she stood up and walked in my direction. My co-scientists attempted to go inside the tube to stop her, but I raised my hands, asking them to stop. They immediately bowed at me and went back again to their tasks.
As she slowly stepped forward, her eyes stuck to mine. Her eyebrows arched, and it looked cautious and full of interest. The shape of her eyes and her innocent face does not manifest her unique self. She looked like an angel in the form of a human. Who would have expected her to perform unusual things?
When the moment came that only the thick wall glass separated the both of us, her eyes went away from my eyes. She aggressively looked everywhere in my arms, from my left to right. It seemed that she was looking for something.
My eyes also followed where she was looking. Until I realized that maybe she was looking for the wound in my hand? I glanced to my palm, and she quickly turned her eyes to it. I was right.
She looked at me while slowly tapping the glass with her two hands. Her facial expressions were asking me to let her see my hand closely.
My hand was trembling as I gradually placed it above hers. Although the glass made our hands separated from each other, I cannot ensure that everything will be safe. Sarah can probably do everything with her power. She can break anything, no matter how hard the objects are.
When I looked at our hands together, I noticed that her hand was smaller and thinner than mine. Wait, did she get slimmer?
When I glanced back at her, I spotted her eyes became blue again while staring at my hand.
What was she doing?! I felt terrified but managed to control my reaction.
I was observing her next move and the possible signs of what might happen to me. However, she suddenly stopped, and her breathing became difficult. Her body became weak, and she slowly made herself unbalanced!
I felt worried, so I rushed to open the tube's door, neglecting all the precautions given by the scientists around me. All of them were shouting, saying that I should not get inside. One of the experts who attempted to stop Sarah a while ago tried to block my way, but he just fell after I unintentionally pushed him sidewards.
Sarah was about to lose her balance, but I caught her at the right time. I helped her maintain her balance, and I can also see her trying to help herself from passing out.
"It's okay... You'll be fine..." I whispered to her ears.
But, I was extremely surprised when she turned around to face me and hugged me tightly. I was not able to move and didn't know how to react properly. She became heavier as I tried to hold her tight to avoid her from falling. However, her breathing became more rapid. It ended herself sat on the floor with my aid.
I was thinking why she felt like no oxygen has been going inside her body at all. We have added oxygen lately. That was why those scientists did not allow me to enter a while ago because they were putting more oxygen on her.
My co-workers saw what happened, so they rushed inside to check Sarah's situation. I was trying to maintain calm as I watched her catching her breath.
But why?
"Sarah has enough oxygen. Why is this happening to her?" Gabriel asked while his eyes were checking at Sarah's.
"I can't believe this..." I heard the surprised voice of Alexis from my back. I just knew right now that two of my members were here, but I have no idea if they were here a while ago.
Sarah's head turned towards Alexis. Her eyes widened as she pointed to the new plant's leaf she was holding. I glanced at Alexis, and I was thankful that she was wearing gloves. Her face was astounded, full of questions.
She held the leaf, like how she was carrying her favorite lipstick palette.
When Sarah reached her hands to get the leaf, all of us glanced at each other. We were questioning Sarah's possible reason. We also noticed that her breathing came back to its natural rate.
We want to see more about the latter so, I signaled Hisha to gave the leaf to Sarah.
But, when Sarah held the leaf with excitement, we were all stilled. The plant's leaf became more lively, and Sarah's pale skin and lips went back to their normal state!
We were astounded by the plant and human interaction we witnessed right now.
Unbelievable!
We tilted our heads and froze with mouth opened. Some even gradually covered their mouth as they saw the blue and green colors that glowed between Sarah and the plant!
She was smiling while locking her eyes close to the leaf. She was checking every corner of it. Besides, her hand that held the sample was not creating any wound like what Lance experienced.
It seemed like Sarah has something to do in connection to that plant we had in the company's backyard.
"The leaf likewise has oxygen," Our eyes went towards Lance. Oh, he is here.
"What do you mean?" Alexis asked with a furrowed forehead.
Lance shrugged his shoulders. "Well, the tube contains enough oxygen, but Sarah breathed in complicated. She was breathing with no oxygen at all. Isn't that strange?"
Alexis nodded in favor of him. "I got your point."
Lance was right, almost right, but ain't reasonable.
"But the leaf has minimal oxygen compared to all the oxygen here," I argued in response.
There was a bit of silence between us, and our attention focused on Sarah. She was still leaning her back to my arms while playing with the leaf.
The oxygen we placed in this tube was human-made. In contrast, the oxygen in the leaf was from nature.
My eyes widened as I realized something.
The density and amount of oxygen did not matter. Sarah won't accept synthetic oxygen.
Does it mean...
Sarah can only live with natural oxygen?
