Chapter 15 Awkward Encounters.

He stopped the car in the parking lot. He got out to open the door for me, but I ignored him. He raised an eyebrow at me. "Are you getting out or not?"

I matched his raised eyebrow. "No. I don't want to."

"One..." He started counting.

I ignored her and continued to sit down.

"Two..." He continued.

"I really don't want to. You pick them up, I'm staying here. I'm too embarrassed!"

He sighed. "Three!" After saying that, he suddenly lifted me out of the car. He closed the door while still carrying me, and we entered the airport. Almost everyone was staring at us.

"Are you crazy?!" I exclaimed after he put me down.

He rolled his eyes. "I gave you a chance, but you didn't take it. That's why I don't have a choice but to carry you all the way here." He lectured me.

I was about to say something when Liam seemed to notice something behind me, so I glanced back. A woman and a young lady were approaching us. If I'm not mistaken, they were Liam's mom and sister.

Liam greeted them and took their luggage. His mom was stunning. She had the kind of beauty fit for a beauty queen. His sister, on the other hand, looked exactly like Liam. She was beautiful too, but she seemed a bit snobbish.

"Mom, Quinn, this is Mira. Mira, my mom and my sister, Quinn." He introduced. I just smiled at them because I was really shy.
"Nice to meet you, Mira. You can call me Aunt Lizel. So, you're the one Liam always talks about. He never mentioned how beautiful you are."

I smiled at her. "Thank you, Aunt Lizel. But he always talks about me?"

"Yes. I tell mommy about you because you can be annoying sometimes." He chimed in. I narrowed my eyes at him. This guy is really irritating. He's probably badmouthing me to his mom. He's even more annoying than me. I thought this person had only positive things to say about me because of the way his mom spoke, but it turns out I was wrong. His mom just laughed and looked at Liam with a meaningful glance.

"Is she your new girlfriend?" His sister interjected.

"Yes." Liam answered straight away. My eyes widened at his response.

"What are you saying? Oh no, that's not true." I retorted with a sheepish smile.

"What do you mean not true? You really are my girlfriend. A girl friend, right?" He looked at me teasingly. His mom laughed again while Quinn grinned. If his mom and sister weren't in front of us, I might have punched him by now!
Before heading home, they decided to grab a bite at the nearest restaurant. Meanwhile, I couldn't help but feel restless. It's so awkward being with his family. How can you not feel embarrassed when you're with your crush's family?

"I really need to pee. Where's the restroom here?" Quinn complained as soon as we entered the restaurant.

"Just right near the stairs." I replied.

"Can you come with me?" She asked.

I glanced at Liam. He must know that I'm scared of his sister because she looks intimidating. "Go," he mouthed.

I didn't really have a choice even though I didn't want to. This Liam is so annoying, he's at fault for this! Dragging me along here even though I didn't want to.

She quickly entered one of the cubicles once we got in. I just fixed myself in front of the mirror while waiting for her.

After a few seconds, she came out. She stood beside me and fixed herself in the mirror. Then, she turned to me and looked at me.

"What's the deal between you and my brother?" I looked at her, confused because I didn't know what she meant. "I mean, you're friends, right? But is there something more than that?" She assured me while observing me through the mirror.

I shook my head at her. "We're just friends, nothing more."

"I don't agree. The way he looks at you, it's as if there's something more." She insisted, focusing on herself in the mirror.
I let out a soft laugh at her comment. "That's nothing. I think that's just how your brother is with people. Actually, he's quite peculiar. He has a mix of different personalities. Sometimes he's rude, sometimes he's kind, sometimes he's moody. Is that really who he is?"

"geuneun joahaneun yojadeulgwa geuroke jinaego issoyo" (Transl: That's how he is with the women he likes.) She said something, but I didn't understand because it was in Korean. I know some basics, but I'm not as fluent as she is.

"What was that again?" I asked her.

She smiled at me. "Nothing."
Suddenly, my phone vibrated, so I quickly checked it. I thought it was something important, but it was just a notification on Instagram.

"Omg, you're a Kpop fan too? Are you also a fan of EXO?!"

I was surprised by her. She had a big smile on her face as she said that. "Uh, yeah. How did you know?"

"I accidentally saw it on your phone. EXO is your screen lock."

"A-ah, yeah. Are you a fan too?" Why do I always get tongue-tied around her?

"I am!"

"Really?" Finally, I've met someone who shares my love for Kpop. Even though Sophie and Jhea are my friends, they're not into that stuff. I don't know how they can enjoy life without it.

"Yeah, that's why I agreed to study in Korea. I want to see them in person."

"Wow, you're lucky."

"I know, right? I think we'll get along well. We have so much to talk about." I suddenly felt happy. I initially thought she was snobbish, but she's not.

"Actually, this is my first encounter with someone who shares the same interest in Kpop as me."

"For real? That sucks!" I just smiled in response.

We left the restroom and returned to where Liam was.

"Why did it take you so long? You two suddenly became close, huh?" He greeted us.

"It's not hard to get along with Mira. I already feel so comfortable around her." Her mom remarked. Hearing what she said made me smile.

After we finished eating, we drove back home. Throughout the journey, Quinn and I chatted about our interests. We never expected to have so many things in common. We both love books, anime, and various other things. Even our taste in music is the same. We even thought that maybe we were truly soul sisters.

After a few minutes, we arrived home. We dropped them off at their house before Liam accompany me to my place since he wanted to borrow my notes because he usually don't take notes in class. We just walked since our houses were just two houses apart. Quinn was supposed to come with us, but she was tired and needed to rest.

I was confused when I saw a car parked in front of our house. I wondered who would visit at this late hour.

"Wait, this car looks familiar."

"Whose is it?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I don't know, maybe it just looks similar."

I was expecting a visitor to greet us when we entered the house, but I didn't see anyone. "Who's the guest of mom?" I asked the maid who just came from the garden with a tray in hand.

"It's not your mom who has a guest. It's Briana."

"Who is it?"

"It's a guy. Maybe her boyfriend." Liam and I exchanged glances. It seemed like we were thinking the same thing.

We both went to the garden, and our suspicions were confirmed. It was indeed him. They were sitting facing each other, engaged in conversation.

Why did he choose to come here out of all places?

What is he doing here? What are they talking about?
