Chapter 57 Fifty-six
“ Love never fails. ”
***
“ Any minute now. ” His message read and i couldn't help looking around as my heart did leaps in my chest.
“ Where are you, Jose. ” I thought to myself, turning around subconsciously.
I removed the hair out of my face as the wind blew them all over. “ Miranda… ” That voice. I became frozen in place.
Slowly I turned around and the sight of him in flesh and blood made my heart thud loudly. “ Jose. ” I wasted no time in pouncing on it and soon, I was in his arms, hugging and kissing him. “ Wow. ” He exclaimed, wrapping his arms securely around me.
I kept trying to gain entrance into his mouth and when he finally let me, I couldn't stop kissing him as tears blurred my vision. I'd missed him so much… too much. Despite it being just two weeks. How can I possibly miss someone so much? How?
“ Miranda. ” I didn't realize I'd been sobbing uncontrollably until he retracted himself from me and cupped my face. “ My love. ” I stared up at his blue eyes, the ones I've forever been in love with. “ I'm here. ” His words resonate in my mind as he kisses away my tears.
“ Yeah. ” I smiled, hugging him once again. Tighter this time, as if I wanna become one with him.
“ Jose. ” I broke free from him and hung my hands on his shoulders as I stared into his eyes. “ I love you. ” I watched a smile blossom on his face at my words and couldn't help blushing as pride filled me. “ I love you more. ”

We were now at a restaurant beside the airport and though I was starving, I didn't order not knowing what I wanted to eat. I guess my emotions had probably messed up my appetite so I allowed Jose to order for me instead.
“ Two plates of chicken and rice casserole and two glasses of chocolate mocha please. ” The waiter nodded, taking down our orders.
“ Why didn't you inform the others you'll be arriving today, Jose? ” I asked, half hugging him.
Given how much I missed him, I'd probably have been sitting on his lap and hugging him If we weren't in a public place. He shot me a knowing smile and I couldn't stop blushing. “ She knows, but I guess she figured you miss me more. ”
“ Hm… ”
“ How was Paris? ” He asked, brushing his hand on my hair.
“ It was great. I did well to enjoy every minute of it. ”
“ I'm glad you did. ” His warm smile melted my heart.
“ Did I mention that I met Malisa Evans? ” Seeing him shake his head negatively, I smiled. I'd probably skipped it.
“ Yeah, I did. I came across her in a restaurant next to the boutique. ” I continued seeing his nod of approval. “ We talked. She was so sweet. ”
“ I'm glad you did. ” I nodded, feeling relieved he didn't ask what we spoke about, I probably would have had to tell him what we'd talked about with a red face as I wasn't used to keeping anything from him. Nevertheless, I'm glad he didn't.
“ Sir, Ma’am. Your dessert. ” I looked up at the waiter as he arranged our food on the table.
“ Bon Appetit. ” He replied with a grin and I was drawn to his name tag which read, Michel larue.
“ Merci beaucoup. ”

“ So we'll be staying in separate hotels tonight? ” I asked on our way out of the restaurant.
“ Yes. ” He nodded, “ But first, I'll head over to the house to drop my things and freshen up. ” He opened the car door and I helped myself in. “ Oh. ” He got in on the other side and started the car after settling in.
“ Is there any place you'd like to go? ” His question got me thinking. In less than twenty four hours time, I'd be married to the love of my life, Jose. My status would be changed from single to married. Not like it mattered anyways as I was almost done with my masters.
But still, shouldn't I be on my own with the girls, alone somewhere ruminating and enjoying my last moments as a bachelorette? Why then can't I seem to want to leave his presence for a second? Why?
“ Back to earth, Babe. ” I turned to him and figured I'd actually zoned out unconsciously.
“ Let's head to the beach. ”
“ Yeah. ”

I never would have thought he'd actually prepared for it until he brought out the necessities we needed from my car trunk. “ I'd always kept it there in case. ” I nodded, stepping back to let him do all the arrangements.
Looking at him from the sidelines, I still found it difficult that this wonderful species would be my husband in twenty four hours. It still feels like a dream.
“ You okay? ” Those deep blue eyes locked on me and I couldn't help blushing.
“ Yeah. ”
“ Okay. ”
Side by side on the blanket, we laid with our backs to the ground and face to the sky. Jose's hands felt warm in mine and I couldn't help relishing that warmth.
“ Isn't it beautiful? ” His words rang in my ears after several hours of silence.
“ What? ”
“ The sky, isn't it beautiful? ”
“ It is… ”
“ You'll be taking my last name in less than twenty four hours, how does that sound? ” His words made me shiver. It wasn't his last name I was afraid of, but something more.
“ You okay? ” His warm palms on my cheeks reminded me that I wasn't alone. “ Yeah. ”
“ You can tell me you know. ” His gaze was filled with love and adoration and for a second, I was tempted to. But isn't that super embarrassing especially because he'd have to figure it all out by himself. “ I will. ”
He nodded, believing me. “ I can't wait to be your husband, Miranda… ” His words resonated deep within me and I felt my heart soar at them.
“ I also can't wait to be your wife, Jose… ” I replied, holding his hands in mine.
“ In less than twenty four hours you will. ” His words carried so much confidence and happiness in it that I couldn't help but wipe out the lone tear that fell out of my eye.
So this is how it feels to be loved and accepted?
Honestly, it's beautiful.
