Everything about today felt beautiful.
it was a normal day yet, it felt like everything but not normal.
“ You are getting married to the love of your life today. ” my subconscious self reminded me for the umpteenth time. 
“ Mira Winfrey. ” The combo sounded like the sweetest music to my ears. 
   As I matched forward towards the altar that day, the very one my bride and I will be joined together in front of the Lord. I heard the Lord say to me,  “ I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.  ” 
Those words were just what I needed as they filled me to the brim with peace, joy and gratitude.  “ Thank you for this day, Father.  ”

   — Mira –
My heart skipped a bit when Evelyn, my maid of honor, announced. “ We've arrived at the church, Mira. ” 
The very thought that I won't be leaving the church as a single lady brought some sort of weirdness to my chest. “ Does it always feel like this? ” I thought to myself. I would have asked Evelyn, but the latter was in no position to give me an answer being single herself. And Nanny? I'd definitely not want to trouble her with my questions.
So yeah as always, I'd rather ask my groom or figure it out myself.
‘ My groom.  ’ The realization that I'd just said those words out made me sigh. 
“ Let's head in, Little Bride. ” Evelyn's voice rang beside me.  “ You definitely wouldn't want to keep your groom waiting, would you? ”

  The door of the church opened, and what followed was gasps of astonishment.
It almost felt like they've all been transported into a fantasy novel as the bride looked too breathtaking to be real. 
Despite the little makeover and simple jewelry, she looked stunning.  
Her wedding dress was embellished with elegant crystals which shone with the light crystals, making the dress look dazzling.  
The dress wasn't heavy, rather it was light. so light that she wondered if the gems were fake, though they weren't.
“ She's too beautiful to be real. ” A male guest said out loud which attracted the attention of the groom and the others who were at the front. 
   Mira had always heard of brides tearing up on their wedding day and she wondered why. oftentimes, she felt they were just too dramatic.
But the moment her gaze locked with Joseph's. She understood why.
It felt like time stood still as they held one another's gaze.
The tears came down freely without asking for her permission. 
   Staring into his eyes, all she could see was unconditional love and adoration. the one she had always seen in his eyes…
But today, it felt different. 
There was another emotion in his orbs, which she was yet to figure out. 
With each step she took towards him. they made promises through eye contact…
Promises they would keep from that day onwards to their very last.
And at last, she got to him. It took only a few minutes, yet it felt like forever. 
Mira felt like she had just taken the longest walk ever and Joseph had to exercise a great deal of self control to avoid breaking down in tears, seeing his bride looking so youthful and beautiful right beside him.
Slowly, he reached out to her and held her hands, still not breaking eye contact with her.  “ You are beautiful, My love. ”
    “ Thank you. ” The words came out in broken syllables as the emotions she felt were intense.
“ It's okay. ” He nodded approvingly at her.  “ It's normal. ” His words were all she needed, and if not that they were at the altar. She would have embraced him tightly and would have never let go. but there's still a lot of time for that and much more. *Wink*
They held hands as the officiating minister began the marriage procession.
“ Do you, Mr Joseph Winfrey, take Miss Mira Edison to be your lawfully wedded wife to love and to cherish, in hard times and good times till death do you part? ” 
Joseph's lips curled up in a smile as he replied rather slowly.  “ I do. ” 
The pastor nodded approvingly before turning to the bride.  “ Do you, Miss Mira Edison, take Mr Joseph Winfrey to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish in the good times and bad times, till death do you part? ” 
“ I do. ”
He turned to face the congregation with the question.  “ Does anyone have a reason why this union should not take place? Speak now or remain silent forever. ” 
The seconds that followed were characterized by eerie silence as no one spoke, which was obviously a good thing.
The pastor nodded approvingly before finally breaking into a smile. “ I declare you husband and wife. ” 
“ What God has joined together let no man put asunder. ”
“ You may now kiss the bride.  ” The moment, Joseph lifted up her veil. Mira broke into a tearful smile as the moment was so priceless that it can't be explained in words.
   “ My childhood friend turned my highschool and college Bestie, then my girlfriend, fiance and now my wife. ” Those words came out with so much emotion that even the guests felt its intensity.  
     “ Jose. ” Her words died down when their lips met. The kiss was slow and gentle, yet filled with intense emotions.
It ended with a heartwarming embrace which made her heart soar. “ I love you, wifey. ”
“ I love you more, Hubby. ” Hearing her say the word brought sweetness to his soul.
He couldn't help but think of the days ahead of them.

The newly weds walked down the aisle as they were being congratulated from all sides by well wishers.
“ Congratulations, Bestie. ” Mira felt the emotions in her words, as she reciprocated the embrace.  “ Thank you, Bess. I can't wait for yours. ” she stole a glance at Evans as she said it.
“ Hm. Thanks. ”
“ Congratulations, Big man. ” Evans greeted him with a warm handshake. “ Thank you. I can't wait to attend yours too. ” He sent a wink at Evelyn who blushed. 
“ Thank you. ”
The couple moved on and there they met the duo that has been waiting all day to meet them.
“ Congratulations, Baby girl. ” Malisa embraced her as tightly as she would her younger sister. 
“ Thank you, Big sis. ”
“ You are welcome, darling. ”
“ Welcome to the league, Big man. ” Aiden embraced him.  “ Thanks. I'm hoping to learn a lot from you. ”
“ Sure. We are great teachers who are ever ready to Impact knowledge. ” The duo said with a mischievous wink, which sent the newly weds blushing as they knew what that meant.
“ Congratulations, Babies. ” Nanny embraced both at the same time. She still found it difficult to believe that her two kids had finally tied the knot.
It felt too good to be true, yet she couldn't deny it as the truth was right in front of her. 
“ Thank you, Na. ” They said in unison. “ We'll never cease being grateful for all your blessings and prayers. ”
“ You are welcome, I wish you a blissful journey ahead. ”
“ Thank you, Na. And you too. ” They sent a wink at her, which made her blush.
Funny how Nanny could blush too.
