  The duo headed to one of the top best restaurants in the city to have their couple date. 
Their first date as a couple.
As a result, Joseph had planned everything out.
Ranging from the choice of restaurant, the location of their table, the lighting, decorations and ambience. 
Though, perfection doesn't exist. He still wanted the very best for his baby girl. 
  “ I would have never thought a restaurant like this existed. ” 
“ It was newly built. By a French man who had a thing for deserts and fast foods. ”
“ Oh… it's no wonder, it's named, Le chef.  ” Mira noted. 
“ Good day, Madame and sir. ” A waiter greeted them.
“ Bonjour. ” They replied. 
“ Your table is over there. ” He said, going ahead of them. 
“ Here. ” He pointed to which they nodded. Joseph waved him off as he wanted to have as much privacy as possible with his baby girl. 
He had ordered their dessert ahead, all he needed to do was press a button on the table and it would be delivered. 
   “ Wow. ” was the only word that came out of Mira's lungs, watching the scenery in front of her. 
Their table was beside a glassy window, which showed the view of the scene surrounded by waves. 
The area where their table was located was covered with beautiful lightning and ornamental plants. 
The atmosphere screamed romance and it was just too beautiful. 
The atmosphere reminded her of when Joseph proposed marriage to her. 
Though she had been expecting it, she was still caught off guard when he did it. 
  It was a day she'll never forget. 
“ It's beautiful, Jose! ” She turned back to him, who had been watching her carefully all along.  “ Thank you. ” She crashed into Joseph's embrace. The latter caught her just in time, before she could trip herself. 
“ You are welcome. ” He decided not to scold her for forgetting that she was in heels. 
  “ Let's have our seats. ” He pulled out a chair for her like the gentleman he was and made her sit, he took a seat opposite hers. 
  “ Thank you. ” She smiled graciously.  “ My pleasure. ” He tapped the bell and a minute later, a waiter appeared with their first dessert which was classic french chocolate moelleux cake.
    “ Seems like an emperor's desert. ” Mira commented, to which Joseph chuckled.
The waitress served their desert with dexterity. “ Bon Appetite. ” she bowed before leaving. 
They picked up their utensils after saying a prayer of thanks.  “ Tastes divine. ” Her comment caught Joseph's attention.  “ Not as much as you. ” His reply made Mira choke. 
She swallowed a mouthful of water, after which she felt a lot better.  “ You okay? ” Joseph was staring at her with concern written over his face, he didn't mean to make her choke.
“ I'm fine. ” she gave a small smile. 
They continued their meal in silence. “ I didn't know you'd become so shameless. ” 
“ Well, we are married now, so there's nothing to hide. ” He said naturally. As if he hadn't almost made her choke by his statement. 
“ Whatever. ” Mira tried not to roll her eyes at him. 
 Midway through their date, Mira's phone rang. 
   “ Bestie. ” Was displayed boldly on the screen.  “ What's up, Evie? ” She spoke as soon as she picked up the call. 
“ So you still remember that you've got a Bestie? I thought you'd forgotten all about me after getting married. ” Evie complained like an abandoned child on the other side. 
“ We spoke the other day, didn't we? ”
“ Hmph! As if you were interested in speaking to me. ” She retorted and Mira could only sigh, the latter was right and she couldn't deny that.
“ I'm really sorry about that, Evie. ” Seeing her lack of response, she continued. “ I'm sure you know that you'll always be in my heart. ”
“ I'm definitely not going to buy that, How could I be in your heart when Joseph had taken over all of it? ” Mira stared at Joseph when her words landed, she was surprised to see him winking at her. Turns out he was listening to their conversation even though the phone wasn't on speaker mode. 
What will she say now? “ It doesn't matter, Evie. You've got your sacred place in my heart too. ”
“ You sure? ” The latter obviously wasn't convinced. 
“ Positive. ” 
“ Well, okay then. ” She spoke up once again with so much excitement that Mira wondered if she was the same person who was complaining like a child about being abandoned. “ Can you guess what, Mira? ”
“ We both know I'm not a good guesser. ” Mira rolled her eyes, seeing her 360 degree change in tone. 
“ Duh…you are no fun. ” She grumbled once again and Mira suddenly had a wide thought, what if the latter was pregnant?
But that can't be possible, since she was still single, right? 
“ Well, Evans proposed. ”
“ Wait, What! ” Mira covered her mouth in shock and amazement.
“ He did, Mira! Evans proposed! ” She cheered. 
“ When was that? ” Mira had switched into a super inquisitive mode all of a sudden. 
“ An hour ago. ” She almost screamed in excitement.  “ Oh wow! ”
“ It's like a dream come true, Bess! I've been waiting for this very day for so many months! I wasn't even expecting it when it happened! He literally took me by surprise! ” The emotions in her tone were indescribable. 
“ I'm happy for you. ” Mira was truly happy for her, at last! 
“ I'm sure you are! I'm feeling super elated! ” 
“ I bet you are! ”
“ Can we have a date later this evening? ” She asked, Mira made eye contact with Joseph. Seeing the later nod affirmatively she smiled.  “ Sure. ” 
“ Where would we meet up? ” 
“ I'll pick you up of course! ” Mira chuckled hearing the mother hen's tone behind her words. 
“ Alright, then. I'll be expecting you. ”
“ See you at 6. ”
“ Sure. ”
“ Bye. ” 
Mira dropped the phone on the dinner table, still trying to recover from the feeling of ecstasy. 
“ This proves that God never comes too late. He's always right on time. ” Mira couldn't agree more with his words. 
“ Thanks for all you did, Jose! I really appreciate it. ” 
“ Anything to make you smile, wifey. ” He gave a wink, making her blush. 
They continued their dinner in silence, each of them in their separate thoughts.
