Chapter 69

Ava's POV
A tear dropped from my eye, I am blameworthy, I am at fault, I made a poor child an orphan just like me. That cloudy night my parents sent me out of the ocean to the surface flashed in my memory, they convinced me that they will come to join me here but they never did.
They both departed from me leaving my brother and me in a strange world. That day and that night are not forgetful.
I looked back seeing my mother die before my eyes, I wanted to jump into to ocean but the merperson from the surface pulled me away from the ocean. I stretched my arm to its outreach yearning to touch my mother but…
'no' I screamed out loudly and birds absconds from their trees. The merpersons on the surface saved me, I cried and moaned about my parent's death for seventy days and seventy nights with Lucas.
A dark cloud of sorrow hovers over me, as salty tears pour from my stinging eyes. Those memories are my reason for being alive. The Jinns murdered them. I will avenge their death, I'm waiting for the right time to avenge my parent's death, I need to retaliate. I continued chewing my lips gasping after every minute.
I feel penitence, I wish to do something to correct my misdeeds, my marriage to a Jinn was my misdeed.
Tears swelled and rolled from Sam's eyes unchecked, his face is red and scrunched up, and he bit his lips.
I couldn't breathe the weight of grief sitting on my chest above all. His world disappeared before his eyes, I realize he is alone but I don't want him to know what it feels like to be an orphan. I don't want him to know what it is like to be lonely, he has no one… no one!
“I'm sorry, it's all my fault” I let out a blood-curdling scream, struggling to swallow down a still-beating heart.
Sam was breathing excessively hard and fast with a frenzied look as he clutch unto my clothing. He let out a scream to the sky. I couldn't look into his bloodshot and puffy eyes any longer, I cleaned a drool beneath my lips looking at the floor, avoiding eye contact with him.
“I want to see my mum,” Sam whispered, pausing to wipe his nose with his sleeve. He continue saying the same sentence repeatedly as he moved repeatedly from side to side, I grabbed his arm, swallowing the agony in my heart.
I need to be strong, I focused on keeping my breathing heavy and slow so that I could fight back my tears but it keeps streaming out of my eyeballs reminding me of that night, my painful past.
“I wish to adopt Sam.“ My voice was weak, my enunciation became distinct. Sam was appalled and extremely shocked. He was staring at me, unmoving, unblinking holding his breath.
“I want you to call me mother, I promise I will treat you like my own son, I will love you wholeheartedly. Do you accept that? I want you to be my son, I promise, no one to notice that I am not your biological mother.“
Sam's heartbeats accelerated with his hands becoming twitchy, his eyes widens, and he sigh heavily letting his head drop.
“Yes… thank you so much… Ava, but…” he sniffled between words. He made a quavering voice.
“It's not Ava to you anymore, it's mother. I will give you some time to think about it, dear“ My heart hammers as I faked a smile.
“Sam, please stop crying. You are hurting me.“ I sobbed hugging him. His tiny arms wrap around my neck region.
We disengaged from the hug as Nicole whispered to me.
“What?“ I got shocked. I let go of Sam as I noticed he is a bit happy.
I heaved a sigh leaving him, Derek walked past me to Sam. They started giggling and playing which made a joyful smile appear on Sam's face.
“You need to take Lucas away from her. The dark Jinn is near.“ Nicole whispered.
“But where can I take him? Where will he be saved? Will I keep running about with Lucas, forever?“ I questioned gaping in between my sentence. I fixed my teary eyes on Lucas chatting with Jane, they were so close.
“You need to take Lucas to Donald's visa, that's the only place the dark Jinn will be unable to attack or murder Lucas. The dark Jinn doesn't shed blood in his home, that's one thing he despises.“ Nicole explained.
Hmmm… I thought I will never see my feet in that home to stay as a family but I think I will do that for Lucas's sake. I don't wish to lose another family member.
“Don't worry, we will come to visit once in a while.“ The three-eyed monsters interrupted, Lisa pulled him as they both walked away.
That sounds like a goodbye.
“Can you teleport us home?“ I questioned.
“Sure,” Nicole let out as he flung a door on the floor chanting some things.
I asked Lucas to come along.
“Let's go home,” I said to Lucas.
He had a worried look on his face.
“I can't leave without my family,”
“Family?“ I questioned, when did he have one? I chuckled, he must be pulling my legs.
I took a closer look at Jane, Lucas, and the feminine child with them. The feminine child has some features just like Lucas. What? no way, no way! It's a miracle. I am so happy for him, he is now a father.
“Oh my gosh! congratulations little brother. I am so happy for you.“ I said smiling at the new couple in town.
“Thanks, Ava. Thanks for accepting my relationship with your brother, I am so happy you forgave me. Thank you so much, I am forever grateful to you.“ Jane showed her appreciation.
“No one is beyond mistakes, Jane. “ I said as I touched the baby in their arms.
“What do you guys name this cutie?“ I questioned as I cupped the baby's cheek.
“She is Loveth because we had her the same day we fell in love,” Lisa uttered.
That sounds weird but I am happy to be an aunt.
“Wrap it up, guys. Don't you want to go home, earlier?“ Nicole questioned.
“Why are you in a hurry?“ I asked Nicole.
“I want to invite Aurora over, it's been ages since I held her soft and beautiful arms.“ Nicole blurted out.
