"What did he say again?"
Alice asked. I didn't really understand because he spoke so fast and then he used another language. We were inside the bedroom, fixing ourselves, I was supposed to be the only one to take Luke to the airport but they insisted on coming.
My brows furrowed. I put down my right hand holding a brush and looked at Alice from the mirror.
"Iche... what is it again? I don't know." I’m back to fixing myself.
She sighed and shook her head a bit. The others did the same. Why do they have to ask questions? And why do they have to come with us? Huh?
"Do you really need to come along?" I asked them when I turned around.
Their brows rose at me and stared for a minute. But in the end, they laughed like I said something ridiculous.
"What?"
"Duh? Blaire, We know naman that you want to be with luke. But you have no one to go home with." Lev said calmly.
"And wait, I'm just reminding you, because we're going to use my old van so, I have to go with you." Claire raised both of her hands and formed a peace sign using her two fingers.
"Also he is also my friend, right?" Anne approached me and pinched my cheeks.
"Stop!" I took her hand away. "Fine. Wala na akong sinabi." I shook my head. I looked in the mirror again and distracted myself from arranging myself.
Until we finished fixing ourselves, we came out of the condo at once and went to luke's condo. We just wore simple t-shirts and jeans. We don't go to gatherings or parties so we just dress like this right now. That's simple!
And about the van, Claire borrowed it from Kuya Miles because we don't have a car that we can all fit so, that's why... Fortunately, my older brother agreed because otherwise we would have to rent a van. It's a waste of money, especially now that there are so many runners, they can take advantage of us.
When we arrived in front of the building. I took out my phone from my pocket and dialed his number and then he answered immediately.
"Babe, are you done?" I said while looking outside. We decided not to get out of the van because luke would be here after a few minutes.
["Yes! Are you guys already there?"]
"Yes. We just arrived." I looked at my friends and they were annoy each other.
["Okay. Wait for a few minutes."] I didn't answer him back. I just ended the call after that. I pouted when I faced my friends. This is so sad.
"It's okay. You can be with him in the new year," Roxie said as she held my hand.
"She's right!"
"And then... let his bird rest to your nest, try to do that." Roxie added as if she just didn't have what she was saying. It was nice to sew her mouth together.
"What the hell?" I looked at her as my brows furrowed. They just laughed. Psh.
After a few minutes, Luke also arrived so I opened the door and I was surprised when he suddenly kissed me right in front of my friends. God! Why do I always have to be surprised? While we were kissing, I heard someone coughed so we parted immediately and looked away, feeling awkward.
"Too much PDA." Anne laughed after she said that.
"Claire, l-let's go," I rolled my eyes and pursed my lips, and then looked outside.
Why is he suddenly kissed me? Although, he knows that I'm with my friends but he chose to kiss me in front of them. That was so embarrassing!
Until we arrived at the airport, no one spoke to us. 'The others are still asleep, the others are talking to their boyfriends, and we, nothing. Chill! It's too early for his flight, I think we're too early, or maybe, he booked the flight really early. I don't know.
"Hey." I grabbed his hand, making him to stop walking. "Are you sure you'll leave?"
He looked at me and smiled. "We've talked about this, right?"
I nodded. "Fine. I won't be importunate again." I sound unhappy. And then, I was surprised when he suddenly kissed me again. I pouted at him.
"Don't worry, I promise that I'll call you if I have time. And besides, We will spend our new year together." He smiled and then I hugged him so tight.
I looked up and pouted at him while my arms are still on his waist. "I will miss you."
He kissed me on the top of my head "I will never miss you." I glared at him. "Kidding! Of course, I will miss you too." Then he pinched my cheeks.
"Oh my god, people!"
"Being PDA is forbidden!"
"That's too much!"
"Seriously? You guys ruined the moment!" I told them but they just laughed.
Just a few minutes ago, we heard the announcement.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. This is an announcement for all passengers traveling on the 9:25 flight FR3421 to France. Your flight is ready to leave. Please go to gate 14 immediately."
He took his luggage and turned around to go to gate 14 but something came out of my mind.
"Wait!" I run towards him when he stopped.
"Why?" He frowned.
"I just want to give you something." I took from my pocket what I would give him. I smiled at him as I showed what I wanted to give him.
"Don't you ever take it off from you, no matter what happens? Okay?" I told him when I finished putting on the bracelet at him I bought last week.
"What is this for?" He asked. I took the same bracelet he was wearing and put it on myself.
"There. We're wearing the same bracelet. I bought this last week. Isn't that cute? Isn't it? We have a couple of bracelets." I winked at him.
He smiled "Yeah! It is cute!"
"Besides, while I am not beside you, that bracelet will remind you of me, every time you see that, you will think of me."
"Oww! That was so sweet! That's why I want you to be with me every time." He hugged me so tight so, I hugged him too.
"This is the final boarding call for passengers Fred Collins and Lucas Vergara booked on flight FR3421 to France. Please proceed to gate 14 immediately. The final checks are being completed and the captain will order for the doors of the aircraft to close in approximately five minutes time. I repeat. This is the final boarding call for Fred Collins and Lucas Vergara. Thank you."
"Yay!" He looked at me. "I need to go na. I'll call you when the plane lands in France. Okay." I nodded and let him run towards the gate 14.
"Let's go! Don't act like that!" Roxie said as she put her arm on my nape. She also pulled me away.
"Really enviable! When can I celebrate Christmas and new year with someone?" Roxie asked herself when we already inside the van.
"Shut up, Roxie. You'll never have that." Anne reciprocated. "I'm fine! Hmm."
"You know, we will grow old without a husband or someone willing to stay with us. Accept it. And you Anne, you're going to break up with your boyfriend, same as you, Blaire," Alice said as she pointed at us one by one.
"So bitter." I smirked at her and winked as well.
"You-"
"Stopped!" We suddenly stopped and blinked for a couple of seconds because of Lev's voice.
She looked at us one by one. "Woooh! I can't sleep you know that. Your noise! ​"
"I'm sorry. You can sleep now again. Good night." I said as I put a small smile on my face.
"Crazy. It's not evening yet. It should be goodmorning." Roxie looked at Lev. "Good morning. Sleep again, Lev."
"You two are so dumb. It's already noon. Good afternoon, sleep now." Alice said. I chuckled. I don't know the reason why I chuckled.
"You guys are crazy," Anne whispered from the back so, we looked at her. Her eyes were closed so when she opened it, her eyes widened a bit.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Huh?" She asked.
"We heard you. What is it again?" I told her. I stopped myself from letting out a laugh.
"That's the truth! And-"
"We're here! Get out now!" Claire suddenly said so we went out of the car. She left without saying anything.
"What's wrong with her?" I whispered.
"We don't know. She's your sister." I didn't answer her. I just went inside. Roxie's mouth wasn't really quiet at all.
It's weird! Claire is so quiet today and she seems like she have a fight with someone. Bad mood, like that. I saw kuya Miles sitting on the couch while talking to someone through his phone.
"Hello kuya!" At the same time, my friends greeted my older brother, so my older brother was surprised. And he just rolled his eyes after a few seconds of being shocked.
And me, I just went into the kitchen. There, I saw Manang and Trixie laughing to each other. I wonder why Trixie needs to work like this, she should be studied to make her dreams come true.
"Oh! Are you there for a long time?" Manang suddenly asked.
I shook my head and approached them. "No. I came here just now."
"Are you hungry already? Do you want to eat? What do you need hija, just tell me." I chuckled.
"Manang, chill." I put my arms around her neck. "I just came here to eat, but I changed my mind. I mean, I'll just eat upstairs."
"Is that so Blaire? Did you two fight again?" Trixie asked me as she approached me.
"No. It's not like that." I smiled at her. And she stared at me for a couple of seconds.
"Oh okay. Trixie will bring the food to you later." They smiled at me sadly and I just nodded before went out to the kitchen.
"Uy! Where are you going?" Roxie asked when she saw me.
"In my room. Why?" I answered.
Her brows furrowed and she slowly looked at kuya Miles and then sa'kin ulit. What's wrong with her? "Wala lang." I just rolled my eyes at her.
When I'm already in front of the door in my room, I sighed before went inside. Now, I don't know what to do. But I decided to take a shower. I also spent an hour in the bathroom. I just want to pass the time.
When I'm finished, I receive a text from someone. So, I took it from the bedside table and it was Lev who message me. He just said that they would go first because they still had to take care of their belongings. I just replied 'Okay'.
Afterward, I heard a knocked from the door. It was trixie holding a tray of food. I took that and started eating. Then, I called Luke but I had already made several calls, not one of which he didn't even answer, though it was ringing.
So I decided to take a nap. Maybe, I'll call him later or tomorrow if I have a time. And maybe, he is in a good sleep. Yeah! That's right!
The next day, I woke up with nothing receive a call or a text from him. I wonder why he is so busy, to the point that he can no longer call me or just text me. I sighed. I took a quick shower and dressed immediately.
I need to go to the mall to buy a Christmas gift for my loved ones. I just wore simple skinny jeans and a rose pink T-shirt with 'Holiday' printed on the front.
I was in the middle of the stairs when I saw Claire downstairs laughing while typing on her phone and sipping on her coffee. What a weird girl? Just yesterday, she's so mean to us but now she is okay.
"Just a little," I said bluntly when I took his coffee and drank it at the same time.
"What the heck!"
I returned her cup of coffee to her and smiled at her sweetly. "I'm leaving first."
"Where are you going?" She asked as her brows furrowed.
"You don't have to know."
I turned around and I was about to walk when kuya Miles suddenly stop me.
"Wait," He said so I stopped.
"W-why?" I asked without turning around again. I wonder why he stopped me, it's rare.
"Face me." That was he want so I faced him bravely.
"What now?" I said. He just stared at me for a while and then he slowly approached me. My heart is beating faster now. I'm nervous.
"Where are you going?" He asked when he already in front of me.
"Why do you want to know?" I cleared my throat.
"Just answer me." His voice suddenl changed so I get nervous.
"I-in the mall. Don't worry, I'll be b-back before lunch. I just want to buy something." I said without looking into his eyes. It's awkward!
He took a deep breathe. "Okay. Take care of yourself." He left after he said that in front of me and that made me happy.
