"Where are we going? And why do you still need to cover my eyes like this?"
I asked him as he guided me to walk. I have no idea where we are going or what we are going to do. When I ask him, he doesn't speak, I only hear laughter from him. I'm starting to get nervous right now. I feel like Luke is just fooling me or he is planning to prank me.
I swear...
"We're here!" He said suddenly.
I took another step and then I felt the cold air breeze hitting my face. It was so relaxing! I felt Luke's hand on my head, I think he was removing the blindfold. I opened my eyes and was amazed at what I saw. My lips also parted and slowly formed a smile.
"Wow!" I looked around. "This is so beautiful!"
"Surprise!" I faced him and give him a tight hug. "Are you surprised by what I prepared?"
"Of course! Duh! I had no idea you were like this." I said as I lost my grip on him.
He smiled. "So, you like it?" I shook my head making his brows furrowed.
"I love it!" Then I looked around again.
There's a table for the couple and it is covered with white cloth and there are two lit candles in the middle of the table. The utensils to be used for food are also in place, mostly, but there is no food yet. And then, the floor is full of red petals and there are also candles on both sides of my path towards our table, and the other candles and petals are also placed around our table, even the entire rooftop there are lights so, it is luminous and it looks beautiful in my eyes.
"Let's go? I will show you something before we eat." Luke's said. I nodded quickly as if I were an excited kid.
He grabbed my hand and suddenly intertwined our hands so, I automatically smiled. Then he pulled me gently towards the rooftop railings.
"Wow! I can really see the whole city from here." Then my brows furrowed. "Wait! Oh no! What the time right now?" I immediately took out my phone. There, 2 minutes left, it's January 1.
"What's wrong?" He asked so I looked up.
"It's only 2 minutes before the new year." I said then smiled bitterly.
Another year of hurtful words from him. Another year of intense war with him. Another year of sadness because my older brother is not here to take care of me, he can no longer forgive me.
"Don't worry, you two will get along again, soon." I felt luke's hand around my waist so I looked at him and smiled.
"Really?" I said when I faced him, he nodded and smiled at me.
"10!"
I looked at the building opposite us, there were a lot of people on the rooftop and they were counting down. "Just don't forget that I'm also here for you." I hugged him so tight.

"What can you do for me, then?" I asked. It was a joke or something but I can't help but to smile widely because of his answer.

I smiled and wiped my tears. "I don't want to lose you, too! I love you so much, Luke!" He smiled at me and kissed me on my forehead so I automatically closed my eyes.

I immediately opened my eyes and looked at the sky when I heard the sound of fireworks. I smiled while looking at the fireworks in the sky. So beautiful! But that didn't follow so I looked at luke with questioning eyes. But he just shrugged and pointed at the sky so I looked back to it.
And one after another I saw fireworks rising and I just covered my mouth as it formed five words. I looked at luke and punched him a little at his chest and laughed a little.
"I love you, too!" I winked at him before looked at the sky again. I will never forget that word in the sky.

I looked at the other building with a translucent familiar face. Damn! They can't be...
I was surprised when it suddenly waved at me and that's when I realized that my friends had been counting down earlier. I didn't recognize them. Apart from the dark they are also a bit far away but the loudness of the voice.
"Let's go! You look hungry." He intertwined our hands so I felt his hand getting cold.
"Are you okay?" I asked when we already sat on the chair. He looked at me and gave me a small smile and nodded.
Some have also placed our meals, waiter and waitress. It looks delicious! We started eating while talking about what happened to him while he was in France.
While me? I'm just trying to shut my mouth but I can't help it. I always ended up laughing so hard every time he spoke and express his feelings towards those strangers he met in France.
He met 2 gays at the bar and 2 women at the coffee shop there and they trying to get him because they're stricken by cupid, like love at first sight, as what they said to Luke, but my boyfriend run so fast, as in swift towards the police station and there, that 4 person is on the police station now.
And also, he met an old woman, let's called it 'sugar mommy' or will be his sugar mommy but before it happens, that woman trying to give him money in exchange for s*x but Luke refused it of course, but the woman is so importunate, she follows him until the house. So, Luke doesn't have a choice but to call the police and there again, the police catch the woman.
That's what happened to him every day he stayed there. He didn't want to leave the house but he had to because they had something to buy. I shook my head while laughing a bit.
"Really? Can you stop laughing?" He asked with so much annoyance in his voice.
"No! I don't want to." Then I laughed again. Fortunately, I'm done eating now.
"Tss! Why are you being like that? Huh?" He rolled his eyes at me and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Really? Fine! I'll stop." I did stop and became serious. "There. It is okay with you now?"
He looked at me for a while but he quickly shook his head. "You look mad, even your voice. Like you ready to kill someone. It is better if you are laughing than like that. So, you can laugh now as much as you want, babe."
I chuckled because of his reaction when I changed my facial expression earlier. I only do that sometimes. It's just fun for me.
I don't care if someone tries to steal my boy from me unless they will harass him or they will use connections from their parents. I also don't care if someone tries to seduce him BUT they will make sure that I have already gone before it happens. I don't want to lose him though!
"Can we dance, Ms. Zamora?" I looked up without realizing that Luke was here next to me, standing with one hand outstretched while the other was behind him.
I smirked before I put down my hand to his. "Sure!"
When we stood up, we went straight to the center, with the surrounding petals and candles. This is so romantic, for me.
He put both of my hands into his shoulders and he put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer to him. We smiled to each other. And then, the music started so we also start dancing, slow.

I smiled. He smiled too. I hope it's always like this, I hope we're just like this forever. I don't have to ask if he will be with me in the future.

Minutes had passed, I heard applause from the door of the rooftop. I sighed and shook my head a bit. There was my friends and his friends also. What are they doing here?

"Sorry huh? But we are also hungry. We're just human, it's just not obvious!" I chuckled because of what Roxie said.
"Luh? Ikaw lang kaya! You still feel sorry! I’m human and obvious too! I'm so handsome?" Roxie looked at Clayton because of what he said.

Roxie was about to punch Clayton's face but we block their eyesight so they could never make trouble.
"Guys! Calm down! It's a new year! Peace of mind please?" I said.
"Go! You can eat guys!" Luke said. And they ran to a long table that had been covered with a large cloth. I didn't notice it earlier.
"Are you happy? With me?" Luke suddenly asked me, so I looked directly into his eyes.
"Of course! Why would I not?"
"I'm just asking! Aren't you hungry?" He asked and I shook my head before took his hand and pulled him with me towards the rooftop railings.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Of course. What is it?" I looked at him at nodded and then smiled.
"What if one of your loved ones fool you? Leave you alone? Turn their back on you? Cheat on you? And it might be hurt you or give you excruciating pain, even though they don't mean to. Will you forgive them?"
"It depends..." I looked at the sky. "It depends on the situation. It depends on their mistake. You know what, there's a lot of people who do mistakes, even though that they don't mean to. It is not easy to forgive, especially if the person has been hurt so much."
"I'll give you an example... Your friend has a boyfriend and her boyfriend cheat on her. I mean, not literally cheat. She found out that her boyfriend is already engaged with someone but he doesn't love that girl. If you are your friend, will you forgive your boyfriend?"
I put my index finger into my chin and looked at the sky. What should and right to answer in that question? Hmm? I looked directly into his eyes before I answer his question.
"Honestly, No! Although, he not literally cheating on my friend but he lie to her, he keep it secret than telling to my friend the truth, that he's already engaged. It hurts, you know. So for me, I consider it cheating."
