11. Rough Overview

I shot him a suspicious look. "How did you know I was curious about the clue?"

Poppy just smiled with an innocent face. "I can feel the energy vibrations from you. You're very interested in the clue, aren't you? So, why not open it? Who knows, it might give you the answers you're looking for."

I pondered for a moment. Maybe Poppy was right. I had to open the clue to find out what was hidden inside. With a pounding heart, I unfolded the note and started reading it.

The writing inside looked worn, but I could still read it. It was a story about an explorer who was trapped in a parallel world and faced all sorts of obstacles on his way back to his home world. The story explained the powers he had and how he had to learn to control them to survive.

I read carefully, trying to understand every word and sentence written there. Each line of the story stirred a deeper curiosity in me. It was as if it were my own story, a mirror of what I was going through.

When I finished reading, I looked at Poppy with a mixed expression of confusion and excitement. "This is like a story about me," I stammered.

Poppy nodded. "It seems like your story has a lot in common with the explorer in that story. Maybe this is the answer you've been looking for. We need to find a way to control your powers and find our way home."

I was stunned. All of this felt so unreal but, at the same time, so exciting. I had undiscovered powers and was connected to this parallel world. I felt amazed, scared, and curious all at once.

"How do we find a way to control this power?" I asked Poppy, hoping she had an answer.

Poppy blinked her eyes. "We must continue this journey and find the answer. How are you still interested in finding that out?"

To be honest, it was a bit tiring. But I was really curious as to how it would all end. "I'm still not satisfied with the answer. I still want to know more than this."

"As greedy as you are," the little boy quipped cheerfully. He then whistled flirtatiously. "Why don't we take a break over there?" he asked, pointing at an abandoned heritage building.

I didn't answer but chose to follow Popy's accelerating footsteps. I guess this little kid never runs out of energy at all.

***

Inside the abandoned shop, Poppy offered me a chocolate bar.

"Are you sure you didn't put poison in here?" I asked suspiciously while observing the chocolate bar.

"If you don't want it, fine." She then put the chocolate back.

Not long after he put the chocolate back, my stomach made a loud sound.

"I bet a tapeworm is roaring with hunger in your stomach. You should be more attentive to that pet inside your stomach." Poppy gave me a mocking look. "We still have quite a ways to go. Are you sure you don't want to fill your stomach a little?"

"You bastard! Alright, please give me your chocolate from earlier," I pleaded irritably.

"You have very poor manners when you ask people for food." Poppy took out her chocolate but still didn't give it to me. "Ask a little more politely, and I'll give it to you," she teased.

That was outrageous. I don't want that chocolate; if there was grass growing around here, I'd probably eat it. This crazy bastard made me have to humble myself by being polite to him.

"You want some?" He was still shaking the chocolate in front of my eyes.

KRRRRR

The sound of my stomach getting out of control rang out very loudly. This made me even more embarrassed. Alright, let this be the first and last time I humble myself.

Alright, I apologize for speaking harshly to you. Please give me that chocolate." Not humble enough, I also put on a cute fake smile to make up for my lie.

"Hahahahaha... I didn't expect you to act like a comedian." Poppy burst out laughing, as she was completely satisfied now. She didn't expect to be entertained like this. "I like you even more, Saeran," she said amid her thunderous laughter.

Hearing him say that was more than enough to make me feel extremely amused. Plus, he had laughed at me just now, completely succeeding in making me disgusted with him.

"Ah, I'm sorry I went a little too far with you. But you're really cute." Poppy then handed me the chocolate. "This is a special flavor. You won't get chocolate like this anywhere."

I looked at Poppy suspiciously and was annoyed. "Your words just now did succeed in making me believe that you put something suspicious here."

Poppy waved her hands and looked indifferent. "Whatever you say, it's not my problem."

Her good-natured behavior always managed to provoke anger in my heart.

***

"Are you done? We still have to continue our journey." Poppy, who had come out first, asked.

I hurriedly finished the last piece of chocolate before putting the rest back into my pants pocket. After that, I immediately followed Poppy, who had already left.

We resumed our journey. Along the way, Poppy kept humming a strange tune. The song felt so familiar to my ears, but for some reason, it made me feel uncomfortable.

"Are you uncomfortable?" Poppy said it suddenly.

"Huh?"

"Forget it." Then she went back to acting like nothing had happened.

Seeing her behavior made me confused about her. Her behavior was so unpredictable. I couldn't understand her behavior. She's strange. Even being near her is more than enough for me to understand that she's a dangerous person. I even feel that if this person were to eliminate me just like that, Then I would easily disappear as well. She's both terrifying and dangerous.

Currently, the two of us continue to walk. I don't know how long we will keep walking.

"Hey, do we still have a long way to go?" I asked her.

Poppy stopped and smiled at me strangely. "Man must always walk if he does not want to die. I'll take your question back. Are you sure you still want to keep going?"

I furrowed my brow, unable to understand the meaning of her strange question. Why was he suddenly speaking in such a philosophical manner?

"Don't want to answer?"

"Your questions have suddenly become strange. I find it hard to digest," I said.

"About the clue I found earlier It's not a clue, but just a rough outline of what you want to know. I never led you to know the answer." She turned around and looked at me intently.
