Betrayal

Betrayal

King Jo Jo

Chapter 1: The New Boy.

I was staring out of the window, my elbow relaxing on the window area and knuckles placed under my jaw, the breeze hitting my face wasn't smooth or soft because of the speed of the bus I was sitting in, my hair was been blown around by the air, scattering on my face and as well out behind me because of the harsh wind hitting my face. My mind was actually elsewhere, thinking about my decision on leaving my parents home, did I make the right call?, Was that the best decision?, What if leaving them behind to go leave with my brother in his new apartment was a mistake?.
I'm having a mixed feelings, probably because this was my first time leaving home, so it's quite understandable, but considering the reason I actually left, am I really helping myself?, I don't know.
My parents keeps getting clingy towards me as I age, I'm now nineteen years of age, but still, they don't seem like they want me to make my own decisions, they keep getting in the way that I wish to live, always acting over protective towards me, believing that their presence is what keeping me safe from potential violence. Ditching them right now doesn't actually feel like the right call, but I have to, I need to, my brother became a successful man since he left home and went to the City, I might as well become successful too if I follow his footsteps.
It has actually been a long drive from the town I live in, driving to the City, more like it's about three to four hours now since I left home, and yet we're still hitting on the road, but anyways, I'm not desperate for anything right now, so the bus could continue going at its pace, I don't really mind.
Even though my parents have been getting on the way of my decisions, I still love to see them around, I love hanging around with them, share stories and gists, but they probably believe that they're the ones keeping me sane, my father always trying to control the decisions I made, he's actually one of the sole reason I decided to jump ship, but the priority is that I have to go on with my life, I have to kickstart from where I had left behind.
You see, I'm just turning nineteen, I'm a football player and I have dreams, dreams to fulfill, a big shoe to fill in based on my role models whom I look up to. I have a life where I'm coming out from, but a huge change is required if I am to make a progress.
The local team I was playing for allowed me to go on many trials, but things haven't been working out like they should, always returning to the team after every trial, until now, I decided to relocate. I don't actually have any professional contract signed with the team, so there was nothing to stop me from leaving and going for somewhere I think might be better and as well get me to fame, with the help of my brother.
Back from home, I've heard a lot about the impact the City can help in a Man's life, with the focus and seriousness from everyone trying to make a living, you'll automatically join the cue, or you end up going hungry.
This was one of the top ten reasons for relocating too, just like few people did say back in the town, that I wasn't performing up to par, up to the level everyone expected me to, but now, I believe I am going to prove everyone who doubted me wrong, I'm going to dominate and I believe that.
When the bus stopped, I realized that we've gotten to the destination, we're now at the car park, my mind have been elsewhere until now. Looking out the window, without following those who were now stepping down from the bus, I can see the busy environment, travellers getting ready to go on a trip, as well as those coming in as well, everyone looked focused on their activities and it was an interesting sight.
“ Hello Sir.... Are you in for the next ride?....”
That's when I remembered that I have to go down, the drivers question jolting my memory back into action. With a slight smile, I carried my luggage from the top area of the bus and headed down.
About to step out by the door, I flipped, my weight falling on someone before me, whom I had tried to balance my weight on, making the both of us to fall to the ground because of the collision, he less expected it, so the unaware incident definitely caught him by surprise, without him balancing himself well, both of us ended up at the floor.
Pairs of eyes were staring at us, like they all just wanted to see what just happened, even the driver at the bus was looking down at us, his full attention placed on us.
“ Fuck Man, watch it!....”
The guy who was my victim spoke angrily, while trying to get himself to stand, carrying his luggage up with him. I tried to get up as well, that's when I realized what just happened, I fell down again, now wincing in pain, teeth gritted together as I realized that I just got a dislocated ankle, fuck.
“ Are you alright Man?....”
The young man who just shouted at me earlier asked, concern written all over his face, I could've just said yes and force myself up, but no, the pain was so severe that I couldn't even get myself to stand. Without further questions, he was down to help me get up, immediately I tried standing with the broken leg again, I realized that it was impossible, I just caused myself harm.
“ Common bro, try harder, there's a clinic nearby, I can take you there to have them check it out for you....”
Fuck!.... I just fucking messed myself up.
