Chapter 2: The Clinic.

With the help of the stranger beside me, he carried me on his vehicle and took me to the nearby clinic which he just told me was located so close to the car park, wasn't really that much of a distance.
Jeffrey, my older brother, he already gave me the address to his apartment, might possibly be waiting for me back at home, to welcome me into his new home which he purchased for himself, so bad that I am going to need some time to get there, I guess I should just give his line a call, and let him know of my whereabouts, so he wouldn't have to overthink about my disappearance.
“ Hey Jeffrey..... I think I am gonna be late to the house, something came up, and I've got to look into it right away....”
“ Something came up?.... But are you here in the City?.....”
That question was puzzling, I don't know what he might be thinking, but I guess I should just tell him the truth, give him a straight answer without being decisive. “ Yes.... But I'll be there shortly....”
“ No Jerome!..... Don't tell me that, you're in a City you've never been to, and you told me that something came up, expecting me to just relax when I know how destructive you can be, don't tell me that, where are you?.....”
“ Common Jeffery, stop overthinking this, there's nothing wrong anywhere, I'm just being delayed by a situation, I'll be there shortly....”
I disconnected the call, not waiting for what else he got in mind to say. I don't want to tell him about my injury, not that he wouldn't see them after the treatment I'm about to get, but I can possibly give him an excuse that it happened back in the town, I carried it right from home to the City, don't want to let him know that the new environment that I'm about to live in welcomed me in with a dislocation on my ankle.
We stepped down from the truck, the stranger running round the vehicle to come give me a hand.
“ You're new in the City?....”
He asked, I couldn't deny that, not when he did overheard my phone call with Jeffery, I just nodded my head, agreeing to his observations. “ Common.... I'm Davis, it's a pleasure meeting you....” he brought out his hand for a handshake. Pleasure?, I just made him reschedule with whatever he might've planned and here he is, saying that meeting me was a pleasure, especially for the state I just put both of us on.
I took the handshake, “ Jerome..... Thanks for helping me here....” he just nodded his head, agreeing to my appreciation, before requesting we head in into the clinic, my hand going around his shoulders, to balance myself, and his down below my waist, helping me to limp into the clinic with a preferable balance, I was slightly taller than he was, I'm around 6'1ft and he seems to be something like 5'7ft compared to me.
“ Hey.... Hello, What happened to your leg?....”
She asked, squatting low to check my feet out, where I had missed my step. I was just staring at the beautiful blonde lady before me, who looks so young to be a professional in this medical work, I can't seem to take my eyes off her, she wasn't looking at me, rather she was looking down to my feet, slightly touching the dislocated area. Though her hair and upper back was the only visible view I have, I still can't deny the beauty before me.
“ Common buddy, she asked you a question....” Davis called to my attention by slowly touching my shoulder.
“ Oh, I'm sorry, what was your question?....”
I asked the lady before me, whom I don't know whether was a nurse or doctor, don't actually know much about all this medical stuffs. She smiled, eyes now looking at mine, her blonde was tied to a loose pony, her hazel eyes getting a brighter look because of the fluorescent light shining down from the ceiling.
“ I asked how you got injured....”
“ Oh..... I tripped, tripped from the door entrance of the bus and falling onto Davis here who decided to help me to this clinic after seeing that I happened to dislocate my ankle....”
She was just nodding her head slowly, listening to every detail coming out from my mouth like she needed all the information that I was sharing right now. She then stood up, maintaining those stare before walking away, can see few other patients around too.
After she was gone, Davis gently slapped my shoulder. “ Damnit Man, you're a snitch....” he was all laughter as he said that, making my lips to twitch in response to his smile.
“ What?.....”
I had to ask, trying to pretend like I wasn't getting the information he was trying to share. He was about to say something else when the door the lady went through opened again, she asked us to come in. Without hesitation, Davis carried my arm and threw them over his shoulder as he helped me up, directing me into the clinic.
“ Bro..... Don't mess this up, I saw the way both of you were looking at each other, don't lose this chance buddy, ask her out, don't waste this chance....”
Davis adviced me, then kept me seated in the chair inside the room we went in, it was a medical room, can see that few people were lying down on few of the beds. The young lady adviced Davis to bring me to come sit at one of the beds, he then carried me to one of the medical bed there and kept me seated. Pointing to my face, he winked at me before leaving the room area as the young lady attended for me. Seeing she has colleagues too, like a few of them, I guess she's just a nurse then.
