--Fate Leads Me To You Prologue-- Fate. What's the meaning of fate for all the people in the world? Based on the dictionary, fate is a power believed to control what happens in the future. If that's what fate means, then its power allows them to meet and fall in love with each other. If it wants them to be together, then why is this happening? Why there is someone that was trying to break them apart? What will happen to both of them if they ever get apart? She looks outside the window only to see the rain pouring hard. She wasn't listening to her teacher, who happens to be her father. Fate is a cruel thing, and by the looks of it. It likes to play with people's feelings. She can't take this anymore. If her father finds out about this, then she's dead. She is lost in her thoughts when someone smacks her head with something hard. She annoyingly looks up only to see her father's angry face, causing her to sweatdrop. She wasn't expecting to get caught but knowing that he was the teacher, it was about time. "What do you think you're doing, ah Mayumi?" her father asks, anger laced in his voice. It's the tone that she doesn't want to hear. She's aware that he's going to scold her later. "I'm sorry, I wasn't listening..." she said, head down in shame. It's the first time this has happened to her; the worst thing is that her father is their teacher. She felt embarrassed; she was the class president, after all. "And why is that?" he asks, full of strictness. His voice clearly shows his upset that his daughter wasn't listening in class. She looks down, unsure of what to say, she already felt embarrassed about what happened, and the girl is aware that if she told him her concerns, he might beat someone up; she doesn't want that to happen. "You're not going to talk?" he continued as he put his hand on her table, and his brow furrowed. He's upset! She made him upset! She can already see her mother's unapproving smile just from this. She is sure that her father will tell her mother about her tardiness; the possibility of scolding is not quite far. "Let's talk after class, you got it?" her father said, seriousness and anger can heard in the tone. By its looks, she doesn't want the school to end because she knows that she's dead!! Should she have an impromptu sleepover with her friend? "Okay, I'm sorry..." she said, still looking down. She wasn't expecting things to happen like this. She felt terrible, but her previous thoughts still linger in her mind. Maybe she should try asking her friends about it? Or not. "Just because you are my daughter doesn't mean you won't listen to the lectures anymore. Do you understand?" "Yes, I understand. I'm sorry it won't happen again," the girl said, finally looking up to her father. She could see how upset he was with what she had done. Well, she is undoubtedly not herself right now! Her father starts to walk back into the front of the class as she sighs again. "Yo, Mayumi, are you alright?" her childhood friend asks. If stressing out over her problem means she's not alright, she is not. "I don't think I am..." She's still not sure why this is happening, but she did not expect something like this to happen. But what she can't understand is that if fate leads them together, why does it want them to be apart? Are the both of them the ones who are for each other, or is it the other? She's been racking her head about it for weeks, and she can't find the answer. What would she do? She wasn't sure why all of this was happening. Does the other one have a hidden motive, or is he sincere with his feelings? It was complex understanding that guy. She sighs once again, wondering why this is happening. Did she do something terrible for this to happen? She doesn't understand why he suddenly enters the picture and wants to get between them. The two are childhood friends, and she doesn't want to be the reason why their relationship breaks. However, she is sure that their relationship is no longer okay, to begin with. Then is this something to get back at each other? Sighing and looking out in the window again, she wonders why. Maybe she should talk this out to him so that she can finally understand why this is happening. She looks ahead and decides; she will ask him about it today! It might be unclear if we start here, so let's go back to a time before they meet each other.
