“Marrying you was a bad idea. Oh my God, I'm forced to restrain myself and make facial expressions as if I look fine, every time I have to face you in front of my family,” Lea babbled endlessly. Meanwhile, Jack who heard his wife continued to talk noisily. It made him dizzy to death. He didn't want to serve the woman because it was clear Lea would definitely nag even more, if he answered the woman. That's how Jack was forced to be trapped, in a relationship he didn't want. His family, who had fallen into poverty, was forced to set him up with a woman from an elite family. Because despite selling his pride as a man. His family needed the money more and inevitably, Jack reluctantly agreed. “Hey did you hear me Jack? I don't want to know, I just don't want to see your face!” Lea exclaimed. Jack just sighed heavily. He was used to her nagging. Making him not care too much. Although it was clear at the beginning that he had to strengthen his ears because he was almost deaf from listening to her nagging. “You'd better save your energy. Tomorrow we still have some business to go together to solve,” Jack said then left Lea who still wanted to continue to nag him. Oh of course Jack, already felt unable to hear the incomparable nagging. And right now Jack wants to lock himself in his private room that he made impromptu from utilizing the attic of the house. Of course, even though he is married and lives at home with his wife Lea. Jack wouldn't sleep in the same room with his wife, so he made the attic his personal lair. Although it was a bit annoying to have to live in the attic, Jack thought it was better than having to deal with Lea constantly which could drain his energy. “Ah, it's all your fault. If I hadn't married you. I wouldn't have to go out with you. And listen to this Jack, you can't pile up your clothes in the attic. I can't stand the smell coming from the attic!” nagged Lea who seemed to have no end to her nagging. Jack even wondered where his wife's energy came from. “Yes... yes. Besides, you have such a great sense of smell, you even beat a gambia rat.” Casually when walking far enough Jack, finally commented on his wife's behavior. Hearing Jack's comment, certainly succeeded in making Lea's high blood pressure rise rapidly. “Come here Jack! You equate me with a gambia rat? Don't you realize that you are similar to a lazy seal!” Jack pretended not to hear. Now he accelerated his footsteps so that he could avoid his wife as quickly as possible. *** That morning, the sun had just appeared on the eastern horizon, and Jack woke up with a lazy expression on his face. As a newlywed, he felt that his life was now full of colors, yes black... the pressure and burden of his life had somehow voluntarily increased drastically without him asking for it. And his lazy facial expression turned into a worried frown when he heard Lea shouting from the garage. Of course the alarm from hell always went off noisily in the morning. “Jack! Our car broke down! Did you forget to take it to the garage? I told you to take it to the garage a week ago,” Lea called out in a frustrated tone. And in Jack's mind it sounded like a call from hell that would start the trouble in his life today. Jack immediately hurried and ran to the garage like an employee who was afraid of getting angry with his boss. He found Lea standing with her hands on her hips, staring at their stationary car. Her face clearly looked scary even though to most men, she had a face as beautiful as a snow princess. “Grrr... I told you to take it to the repair shop. But why didn't you take her there? Because of you, what are we going to ride to the office now? Do we have to order a camel from Arabia?” complained Lea in an exaggerated and dramatic manner. “Calm down a bit. We can order a taxi online,” Jack said trying to calm her down. He who is always forced to be patient should not be affected by Lea's deadly tantrums. However, fate said otherwise. Their online taxi app suddenly went down and couldn't be used. And succeeded in making Jack's bile shake violently. “Great, now we're stuck here,” Lea grumbled, folding her arms with a frown. The gloomy aura that encompassed the woman grew more and more. It was so dark that it made Jack want to run away. Forced to finally turn his brain the only asset, the most valuable one owned by the man from birth. Because he was born from a rich family that fell into poverty, his brain is an asset that he can still use to make a living. Jack looked around, searching for a solution. His eyes fell on an old bicycle in the corner of the garage. “Why don't we ride the bike?” Lea looked at Jack as if he had just suggested they walk to Mars. “You're joking, right I can't afford to hear your suggestion that makes me almost deaf?” “Well, it's the only way. Besides, it could be an adventure. Remember, we're a team! Instead of a married couple,” Jack smiled hoping to convince Lea. His smile was as convincing as a salesman trying to sway customers to buy his product. Lea let out a long sigh. “Fine, but if I fall or get hurt, you'll be the one to pay for it, Jack.” I don't know why Lea was willing to comply this time even though it was clear she wouldn't in her heart. Jack nodded and then showed Lea his thumb. “Trust me. This will be a fun experience for a rich person like you.” With a few adjustments, Jack and Lea were finally ready. Lea sat at the back, holding tightly to Jack's waist as she prepared to change her position at any moment to choke Jack's neck if anything suspicious happened. They started pedaling slowly towards the office. Along the way, they both encountered various obstacles. On the uphill road, Lea couldn't stop complaining about how slow they were. “We'll be at the office next week at this rate, where's your energy?” Lea chided. Jack, who continued to pedal and was dripping with sweat, replied like this. “Think of it as exercising your patience, Lea. You shouldn't complain, you're so heavy. I think I'll have strong leg muscles like a rhino because of you!” Lea snorted. “Heavy? You're the one who's weak. Speaking of leg muscles, you shouldn't complain! There are many women who like men's leg muscles because they look sexy.” As they crossed the rocky road, the bike shook violently, making Lea almost fall off. “Jack! Be a little more careful, will you?” screeched Lea. Jack looked back with a mocking smile. “This is fun! It's like we're in an adventure movie.” Lea rolled her eyes. “Adventure movie? More like a slapstick comedy. You have bad taste.” They finally arrived at the office dripping with sweat and gasping for breath. Their office staff stared in astonishment as they walked in, still with their bike helmets on. “Wow, you guys are really unique newlyweds,” one of the employees said in a teasing tone. Jack smiled as he glanced at Lea. “Yes, we are different.” Of course, showing romance in front of others is a rule that must be obeyed between Jack and Lea. The two of them couldn't be seen fighting with each other when they were outside. But it was okay to create a third world war when they were inside the house. Lea, who was still half annoyed, shot a sharp look at Jack gracefully. But she covered it up with her typical elegant demeanor. “If you keep coming up with crazy ideas like this, we'll be the butt of funny stories at the office forever, honey. My husband is funny.” Jack chuckled forcefully and put his arm around Lea. “Maybe, but at least we're always together, right?” Lea forced herself to smile and continue being sweet. “Yes, always together in all this silliness.” “You two really are a romantic couple. Gosh it irks me ....” The employee never knew that Lea and Jack were actually feuding and pretending to be sweet in public. That day, although full of challenges and craziness, became one of Jack and Lea's most memorable days. At the end of the day, as they rode home on the same bike, Lea whispered to Jack, “I hate to admit it, but this is the first time I've ever felt what it's like to ride a pedal bike like this. Don't think you're okay because I'm saying this just to let you know that I feel annoyed with you!” “If you talk like that. It's better to keep it to yourself. It seems that being the son of a rich man who has never felt poverty, you have never felt the joy of riding a bicycle. Poor thing.” Lea snorted and pinched Jack's waist. “You idiot, hurry up and pedal faster.” Jack complained, “Oh my god it's heavy ....”
