Chapter 100: Silent Love

It was late at night, and the room was still filled with whispering voices from the two girls. Mina, like everyone else, really wanted to know the reason why this beautiful couple broke up. Anyone who witnessed this love story could easily see that Dylan loved Nancy very much.
However, the answer she received from Nancy was that their personalities were different, and could not get along.
After chatting for a while, the two girls started talking about work. Mina excitedly talked about the priceless crown that Global Group is designing that will be exhibited at the Imperial Hotel at the end of this fall.
“At that time, please give me an invitation card, I want to see that expensive diamond in real life.” Nancy said softly.
“Okay, no problem. But, the chairman will also come, is that okay?”
“In such a big exhibition, we probably won't easily encounter each other.”
The questions gradually became less and the space fell silent. Nancy missed Dylan again. After a while of tossing and turning, afraid of disturbing Mina's sleep, she gently left the room and stepped outside.
The full moon floating in the sky emitted a gentle, magical light, illuminating the yard, enough for her to see the silhouette of a man standing there looking up at the sky.
“Stephen, aren't you asleep yet?”
“The scenery is so beautiful, if I don't look at it, it would be a waste. I want to look at the moon for a bit, what about you?”
“Maybe it's because I'm in a strange place, so I have trouble sleeping.”
“Nancy, have you ever watched the moon drifting on the river?”
“Not yet.”
“Wait for me a moment.”
After saying that, Stephen ran to the back porch and came back with a basin of water in his hand. After that, he continued going into the house to get a mirror. Nancy didn't know what he wanted to do next.
“Nancy, come here.”
Stephen held her hand and pulled her to sit next to the basin of water. The moonlight in the mirror was like a brilliant seven-colored ball floating on the river, making her feel so immense.
She smiled as she looked at Stephen and felt that he was so romantic. If Dylan hadn't appeared that day, perhaps time would have made her fall in love with Stephen.
But life has no ifs, he came back, gave her hope for a happy home, and then pushed her to the depths of suffering.
After watching the moon, Nancy and Stephen went back into the house and went to bed. And because they wanted to enjoy the peaceful morning in the fresh countryside, they woke up early, washed their faces, and led each other to the fields.
The sun had not yet awakened, the drifting clouds and mist made the rice fields filled with a hazy atmosphere. Nancy felt like she was immersed in the scenery of a fairy tale movie.
The faint scent of rice, the smell of straw and mud mixed to create a typical countryside scent, extremely close and familiar.
The two of them wandered on the trail through the middle of the field. Nancy gently touched the rice flower, Stephen plucked a few grains, removed the husks, and put them in his mouth to chew. He didn't bring a camera because he wanted to focus on looking at her rather than admiring the scenery.
When the sky was covered in a deep blue, the golden light of dawn also sparkled brightly in the eastern corner and a new day began, not as noisy, not as hurried as in the city, everything happened so gently.
Upon arriving home, seeing that Wynn was still sleeping, Stephen rushed into the room and pulled him up.
Wynn was used to sleeping late and waking up late, only when he had to wake up early to film would he try to get up.
Being beaten repeatedly, he became irritated, sat up with his eyes half-closed, and said in a harsh voice.
“What are you doing?”
“Wake up, wash your face, eat, and go to the construction site.” Stephen urged.
“What do I go to the construction site for? I don't know anything.”
“In short, are you going or not?”
“I'm not going.”
“You want to be a son-in-law in the countryside but wake up so late? Okay, just sleep well. Steven rushed into the kitchen this morning to help cook. Let me see how you can compete with him.”
When Wynn heard Stephen mention Steven, he immediately woke up and quickly jumped out of bed. He almost forgot that he was at Mina's house and that his rival Steven was eyeing her.
After eating, it was exactly eight o'clock, everyone set off together. Seeing Mina sitting in Steven's car, Wynn felt annoyed, he left his car at home and jumped into Stephen's car, lying down on the back seat.
At breakfast earlier, Wynn saw everyone praising Steven, making his already high and big nose even higher and bigger.
However, he knew he couldn't compare to Steven in this cooking skill because he had never had to go into the kitchen since the day he was born.
Moreover, Mina's kitchen was still burning firewood, her mother said that cooking rice with firewood was better so she didn't use a gas stove, if he went in, he might cause a fire.
At the same time, Mason was present at Global Corporation headquarters. The contracts from before until now were all signed by Stephen first, then he would bring them to Lucky Company for Mason to sign later, then Stephen would leave two original contracts and take four original contracts back.
As for the phase acceptance documents and documents related to the project, Mason gave them to Nancy so she could give them to Stephen so he had never set foot here.
Because Mason had an appointment in advance, the receptionist called to confirm and immediately guided him to the meeting room to wait. Just two minutes later, Daria pushed the door open and entered, nodding slightly.
“Hello, Director Mason, I am Daria, Stephen's assistant.”
“Hello.”
“Please sit down.”
Daria placed the stack of contracts, which numbered about a hundred copies, in front of Mason. Each contract was signed with six copies, which was why there were so many.
“We will advance your company up to seventy percent of the total estimated budget for all contracts immediately after signing. Please read it again.”
It took Mason nearly an hour to look through all the documents. He only paid attention to the payment terms, progress, rewards, and penalties without paying attention to the representative's name. It was only when he finished signing and stamping that he noticed Dylan's name in bold red next to his own.
“Miss Daria, why is the chairman the one who signed the contract?”
“Oh, Mr. Stephen is away so the chairman signed for him.”
Mason nodded slightly when he heard Dria speak. He had heard his wife talk about Nancy and Dylan's love story, but Stephen said that Dylan would never know that Nancy worked at Lucky Company because she was a salesperson, working at the bar and never signing any documents, so everyone didn't need to worry.
“Please try your best to do well. Now I'll tell the accounting department to transfer the money so you can order the goods in time.” Daria said as she rearranged the documents.
“Thank you, goodbye.”
When Mason left, the transfer of all shares from Neil to Lyle and Dylan was completed.
Because Neil saw that his son was not very interested in this job, he sold all his shares and used the money to buy more farms everywhere so that his precious son could fly back and forth.
Neil wanted to give Stephen a surprise, so he decided to tell him on his birthday and told everyone to keep it a secret.
After seeing Neil and his wife off to the car, Lyle returned to Dylan's office and asked worriedly.
“Tell me, if Stephen knew that his father no longer had shares in Global Group, would he continue to work?”
“I don't know either, if someone wants to leave, can we try to keep them?”
“Dylan, are you missing her?”
“I met Nancy. Cousin, actually she was my ex-fiancee.”
After a moment of contemplation, Dylan told Lyle his story. This was the first time he had confided in someone because, at this moment, he was in a mess, he didn't know how to make her heart turn to him.
“At first, she didn't love me and now she thinks I approached her just to get revenge on her. What should I do?” Dylan spoke sadly.
“Does Nancy know that you got into an accident because you chased her? Doesn't she wonder why your appearance has changed?”
“She didn't ask but I don't want her to know, I'm worried that she will feel guilty when facing me.”
“Dylan, people are not made of stone. If you love her so much, treat her well in secret, then wait for the right time to let her know. She will definitely feel it. Don't rush to chase her because it will scare her.”
Hearing Lyle's advice, Dylan nodded in agreement, but he wasn't sure if this method could be applied in practice.
He saw that Lyle had been treating Rosalind well for years, but she still hadn't felt anything. He didn't know when his cousin would find the right time to let her realize his feelings.
Also, he saw that Rosalind seemed to be avoiding Lyle lately. For any big or small work-related matter, she would always come to him and ask him to assign it to his subordinates. If he told her to meet Lyle to propose, she would stay silent and not respond.
Finally, when he asked Lyle, he immediately received the answer “I didn't hear what she said. Later, if she has any opinions, you can take note and tell me”.
