Chapter 103: The Younger Brother is Happy but the Older Brother is Sad
The promotional photo shoot for the summer fashion collection ends at six o'clock in the afternoon. Although Rosalind doesn't wear elaborate makeup and her clothes are very simple, she still makes people unable to take their eyes off her. Lyle clearly knew the advantages of Rosalind's appearance, so he guided her to pose in unique and equally provocative poses, fully showing off her long, straight legs. During this time, he noticed that she seemed to be deliberately avoiding him, always making excuses that she was too busy with activities and needed to take advantage of her free time to rest. So, he decided to arrange his work and personally take this photo shoot. “Thank you everyone, you've worked hard.” Rosalind bowed her head to say goodbye to the crew. When she caught Lyle's eyes, she pretended to drop something and bent down to pick it up to avoid his gaze. But as soon as she reached the door, he stopped her. “Let's have dinner together, I told Alisa not to pick you up, I'll take you home.” “Lyle, I'm feeling a little tired.” “Is it so difficult for me to invite you to dinner now?” “Oh. No, let's go.” When the couple reached the elevator, they ran into Mina. She bowed slightly and walked in with them. She had no plans to tell Lyle about her and Wynn's date. As for Wynn, after returning to the city, he refused to go to his house and stayed at Mina's. Although she told him to go back to his house, he was too stubborn, so she threw him the spare key and told him to lock the door for her when he left. As a result, after six o'clock in the evening, she returned and still saw him rolling around in her house. Because Wynn's contract with Global Group was still in effect, both of them were afraid to go out on the street, afraid that people would find out and make a fuss, and then Lyle would have to spend money to suppress the news, so even though Mina was tired, she still had to cook for him and did not dare to follow him out to eat. “Wynn, if you're upset about something in the future, don't go out drinking.” She said while peeling fruit. “With you by my side, I am so happy, nothing can make me sad anymore. But… what are you worried about?” Mina bent down and shook her head slightly. What happened between Laura and Lyle, she had heard him tell before. Just because he was drunk for a moment, he went to bed with Laura. She was worried that Wynn would be like his brother, sad and go out drinking, watching chickens turn into cuckoos, sowing seeds haphazardly. A perfectionist like her absolutely would not accept this no matter how much she loved him. “Mina, if there is a time when I'm sad, I'll tell you, please comfort me.” Wynn rubbed his head against Mina's shoulder. She put down the knife, reached out to hug his head, and smiled slightly. If he could share his thoughts with the person he loved, he wouldn't have to resort to alcohol to relieve his sorrows. “Singer Wynn, are you embarrassed to change the way you address me so quickly?” Mina asked while laughing. “No. Or I'll still call you sister. Sister, I love you.” “Nonsense.” She pushed Wynn away, glaring at him. If it was before, seeing her like that, he would be scared, but now it was different, he continued to pounce on her, leaning on her like a boneless person, forcing her to feed him fruit. Mina felt a little regretful for taking on a child to serve and take care of. At the same time, at the Red House restaurant, both Rosalind and Lyle were eating silently. From the beginning of the meal until now, Lyle had not said a word and Rosalind kept glancing at him from time to time. Feeling the atmosphere was too heavy, she ventured to speak up. “Lyle, I haven't seen Laura come to the company lately.” “I have terminated the contract with her. She is no longer an artist of Global Group.” “So that's how it is.” “Rosalind, what happened that day wasn't like what you thought, I didn't push her.” “I said I didn't see anything, I didn't think anything. You eat, the soup is cold.” After saying that, Rosalind quickly took the bowl and ladled soup for Lyle. Looking at his face, which was as dark and gloomy as the sky about to rain, she silently blamed herself for suddenly becoming so nosy. She should have ignored everything related to him. She was so scared that she felt dizzy, and somehow she blurted out that she wanted to go see a movie with him when she was free. She just thought that saying that would bring the atmosphere back to the way it was before, but unexpectedly he agreed, saying that after eating, they would go see a movie. The screening of the movie Lyle had chosen was at eight o'clock in the evening. Rosalind watched half of the movie before leaning her head on his shoulder and falling asleep, partly because of her busy work schedule recently, and partly because of the side effects of the medication. By the time the movie ended, Rosalind still hadn't woken up. Lyle was afraid that she would lose sleep, so he booked the entire theater for the following screenings. In the large and quiet space, there were only two people left. He wished that time would not pass so quickly so that he could be close to her a little longer. It wasn't until eleven o'clock at night, when the last movie show ended, that Rosalind woke up. Realizing she was leaning against Lyle, she quickly jumped up and backed away. “Is the movie finished?” “Uh, the last movie screening has finished.” Hearing Lyle say that, Rosalind quickly took out her phone to check the time and saw that the screen showed that it was past eleven at night. “Why didn't you wake me up?” She asked softly. “It's okay? You've worked all day and are tired, I don't want to disturb your sleep. Let's go home.” She nodded slightly and hurried out. All around was quiet, only a few staff were cleaning up. When her feet touched the stairs, she suddenly stopped and turned her head to look behind her. Lyle saw this and quickly stepped forward and went down first. The girl he loved was suspicious of him, perhaps she was afraid that he would push her away like he had pushed Laura. His heart hurt. He has never been in pain like this moment before. That cautious look of hers was like a knife cutting into his heart.
