Knowing that Paul was preparing in the conference room, Stephen immediately went down to see Paul. He had to find a way to clear his doubts, otherwise, he wouldn't be able to concentrate on his work. For several days at the funeral, Stephen looked until his eyes almost popped out but he didn't see Nancy's figure. This morning, he went to her house and found the door locked, and when he called her, there was no signal. Stephen wanted to ask Dylan, but because Dylan had just finished taking care of the funeral, Stephen aimed at his close assistant. Paul was adjusting the microphone on the podium when he saw Stephen appear. He opened his eyes wide and looked surprised. “Mr. Stephen, there's still more than an hour until the meeting time.” “I know that. Oh, let me ask, what happened to editor Nancy and your boss?” “I don't know.” “The branch in country Y seems to be missing a manager, do you need me to recommend you?” Stephen smiled, squinting at Paul. Finally, Paul had to tell Stephen everything he knew. He said that Dylan told him to go to Nancy's house to find her and he found out that she had quietly left without leaving any trace and then Dylan said that there was no need to look for her anymore, if she was gone then just let her go. Next, he continued telling stories he heard from Nancy's gossipy neighbors. They said they saw Dylan abusing and dragging Nancy, and when he and she entered the house, it seemed like there was a fight because they heard Dylan say things like: “die without a whole body”, and then they heard her crying loudly... As soon as Paul finished speaking, Stephen's face changed color like a chameleon, from white to pink, then from black to red, and when it was white again, he turned away angrily. Paul was startled and ran after him to grab Stephen's hand. Because he was too hasty, he fell, his knees hit the floor so hard that he could see a thousand twinkling stars. “Mr. Stephen, don't tell my boss that I told you, you just asked as if you accidentally found out.” “No.” Stephen replied coldly. He was angry with Dylan and his anger spread to Dylan's assistant. “Oh my god, if you're like this, what will I do if my boss yells at me?” “If he scolds you, ignore him or open your ears to listen.” “Huh, what do you mean?” Paul was bewildered as he watched the angry man walk out of the room. Partly because of the pain, partly because of fear, he was trembling and had to hold onto the podium to stand up, but unexpectedly the new podium was faulty, the pedestal kept wobbling, so it was shaking even more than him. At that moment, Paul secretly thanked Stephen because if by chance some old man came up here to speak and fell, breaking his head and forehead, he would have to sell himself to that old man's wife to compensate. At the same time, in front of the president's office door, Lyle stood hesitantly for a long time. A moment later, he knocked twice and walked in. Dylan didn't look up, his hand was constantly scribbling on the paper. “What do you want from me?” “I want to ask for your help.” Dylan paused for a moment. He is a smart person, he already realized Lyle's feelings for Rosalind. If compared to his love for Nancy, it was probably not much worse. Even before Lyle spoke, Dylan knew what his cousin was about to say. “You want to talk about SN Group, right?” “Yes. If the properties are auctioned, the price will be forced down. I want you to join me in buying them all, but use the name of the Global Group, and don't let anyone know that I'm involved.” “Lyle…” “Consider me begging you. Dylan, if I don't do anything, Rosalind will lose everything.” “Since you asked, of course, I have to help.” “Thank you.” Waiting until the door closed, Dylan let go of the pen in his hand, leaned his back against the swivel chair, and looked up at the ceiling. He knew that buying all the real estate under the name of SN Group would require a large sum of money. While he was thinking back and forth, he heard the door open, then Stephen appeared, walked over quickly, and punched the desk. “What happened? Where is she? What do you mean by saying if she leaves, let her go?” “The meaning is in the words.” Dylan coldly replied. “This guy.” Stephen grabbed Dylan's collar and pulled him up. His hand clenched into a fist, staring at Dylan for a while. He wanted to beat this artificially handsome guy a few times, but he was afraid that after he did it, Dylan would be broken. “What are you angry about? She's the one who abandoned me.” Dylan grabbed Stephen's hand and pulled it away. “You're going to tell me you're the victim? Bastard. If I knew this day would come, I would never give her to you. I really regret it.” Stephen screamed, grabbing the pile of papers on the desk and throwing them on the floor. While he was panting, Dylan brazenly assigned him to prepare documents to negotiate with Daniel to mortgage the Global Group's real estate to LE Bank to get money to buy the SN Group's real estate, making him so angry that he almost suffocated. “Turns out it's because of green tea and red tea? If you want, do it yourself, otherwise, let Lyle do it. I don't like doing it.” After speaking, Stephen quickly left. Dylan was also furious. As soon as Stephen disappeared, he threw all the documents on the floor, punched the desk, and kicked the swivel chair. His anger reached its peak, causing him to open the door and run out to the balcony to catch the snow to cool his head. After a while, Dylan felt so much pain all over his body that he almost collapsed. He trembled and crawled inside, groping in the desk drawer to find painkillers. At this moment, he hated Nancy so much that his heart turned purple. He secretly thought that if he met her again, he would torture her to the core. As soon as Paul arrived, he quickly rushed in to take a look and saw Dylan lying on the sofa, eyes closed, surrounded by scattered and messy papers. He immediately bent down to pick them up, sort them, and arrange them… Returning to the office, Stephen collapsed on the sofa before Daria's bewildered eyes. He stared at the ceiling, slowly speaking. “Please ask the president of LE bank to make an appointment for me. Prepare the documents of all the real estate in the south so I can negotiate with him.” “Yes. Would you like something to drink?” “Coffee.” Daria quietly stood up and quickly walked out. A moment later, she brought in a cup of coffee and saw Stephen rubbing his forehead, his eyes squinting as if he had a headache. She sighed, said nothing, and turned away to get some medicine. Glancing at the gray sky through the glass window, Stephen sighed sadly. Outside, the snow was falling more and more, the figure of a girl wearing a warm cotton coat with a carefree smile on her lips appeared and then disappeared. He remembered every word of advice and expression on her face a few days ago. He silently blamed himself for being so weak. If he had listened to his heart and cared for her, he wouldn't have regretted it like this. “Nancy, where are you? How could you silently disappear like that? Aren't we friends?”
