Chapter 89: Bloody Marriage Proposal

The sound of water flushing from the bathroom made Jolie uneasy, she worriedly asked.
“Nancy, are you okay?”
Nancy pushed the door open and walked out, smiling reassuringly at her friend. Because she was afraid Dylan would find her, she did not dare apply to any company and decided to work with Jolie and Mason. She also wanted to repay them.
Mason was not the son of a rich family, and he did not have enough money to buy connections.
Companies in the same industry were springing up like mushrooms after the rain, competition was fierce, so the two girls decided to let him stay home to take charge of the documents and technical aspects while they went out to find projects.
Jolie quickly applied lipstick to her friend's lips to reduce the paleness. At first, the directors invited her and Nancy to lunch, but in the end, they drank until late afternoon before leaving.
Although Nancy's drinking is not bad, because yesterday she entertained customers until late at night, she still feels tired today.
The old alcohol in her body hadn't been released yet, and the new alcohol had entered, so she quickly became dizzy and drunk.
Nancy was standing at the gate shaking hands and saying goodbye to her partners when she saw Dylan appear. Two beautiful female employees ran over, grabbed his arm, and greeted him.
She panicked and turned her back, leaning on the director next to her, trying to hide her face.
“Are you okay?” The man asked with a smile.
Waiting for Dylan to disappear, she stood up straight, smiled, and pretended to be shy and weak.
“I'm sorry, I'm so drunk.”
“Hey, are you afraid of anyone?”
“What?”
“Here, like me, I'm afraid of my wife, you see, I set my wife's photo as my phone wallpaper, every time I'm drunk, I open it and look, and I immediately wake up.”
“Oh, yes, you're so funny.”
Jolie had just taken a fat director to the car when she quickly turned around to help Nancy.
Everyone knew Jolie had to drive, so no one forced her to drink but only focused on inviting Nancy to drink.
Looking at Nancy tiredly in the back seat, Jolie spoke up with concern.
“Nancy, I'm sorry, if you're too tired, then stop doing it.”
“I'm not tired, Jolie, we have to earn a lot of money and leave that alley. Have you forgotten?”
“I remember that. Close your eyes and sleep, the road is a bit far.”
Nancy softly said “Uh” and lay down on the bench. The image from earlier in the restaurant appeared again, she saw Dylan thinner than before, looking at the expressions of the girls there, she knew he must have been there many times.
But she thought it was good because if he paid attention to someone else, he would quickly forgive her.
Everyone in this life will change, like her. Even though she doesn't want to, she still has to joke and laugh with those men. Even though they have wives and children at home, they still want to flirt with girls outside.
Some people who just met her bluntly asked to exchange love and work, and some people used the method of helping with a few things and then slowly making requests.
In the first case, she would refuse and run away, in the second case, she would pretend that she was a naive deer, not understanding what they meant.
Some people just sympathized with the life of a woman in the business world and helped without any profit, but there were only a few.
At the same time, right at the luxurious restaurant, Paul and Ella had just gotten out of the car and entered to eat the dinner that had been ordered in advance.
The atmosphere at the dining table was a bit awkward. They had been in love for a while, but because today was an important day, Paul was nervous and fidgety. Ella was worried when she saw him acting strangely, thinking he was sick.
“Paul, are you not feeling well?”
“No. Let's eat.”
After speaking, he raised his hand to signal. Next, the male waiter quickly brought up the Russian Salad and started pouring wine.
On the other side, Daria and Stephen were so engrossed in looking that they forgot to order, just holding the two menus as shields to cover their faces.
“I guess Paul put the ring in the salad, it will be a heart-warming proposal.” Daria whispered.
Paul stared at his lover's food, he was hoping Ella would scoop up the ring hidden in it.
Ella was a little surprised to see him staring at her plate, then as if understanding what he meant, she smiled and scooped a spoonful to feed him.
Paul was moved and opened his mouth wide. Ella had just put the spoon back when she heard a “pop” sound that startled her and her eyes widened.
She jumped up in panic when she saw blood flowing from his mouth. The waiters standing next to them were equally confused.
Stephen and Daria saw that the other side was suddenly bustling, so they threw away the menu and rushed over.
Not knowing how many teeth Paul had broken, his lips and mouth were red. He looked as if he had done the exercises wrongly, causing him to vomit blood.
So, they quickly took him to the hospital. Ella held the bloody diamond ring and sobbed, blaming herself for feeding him at that time, causing him to lose his teeth.
“Daria, I think this proposal did not go into people's hearts but rather went into the hospital, fortunately, it did not go into the ground.”
Although Stephen whispered in Daria's ear, Ella still heard. Daria glared and punched him.
After the doctor finished the treatment, everyone left one by one. Paul saw the ring on Ella's finger and was moved to tears.
However, he did not dare to open his mouth and smile because he was afraid it would look bad. He understood that it would take a few days for him to have another tooth implant.
The streets were covered in thick snow, so vehicles had to move slowly. Stephen stopped by a roadside restaurant to buy food for both of them because they still had nothing in their stomachs.
While waiting, he absentmindedly looked out the car window and blurted out.
“Daria, why don't you quickly find a boyfriend? It's very cold in winter.”
“Then why don't you find a girlfriend?”
“I've been looking for weeks and haven't found anyone.”
As soon as Stephen finished speaking, the space in the car fell into silence. Daria knew he was talking about Nancy. Every time he hinted like that, her heart felt like it was breaking, but she still tried to force a smile on her lips to hide the pain in her heart.
