Despite being very busy, he still made time for his family.
Maxwell Thornton chuckled, suddenly reaching out to spread Lily Bennett’s legs apart, hooking them around his waist. In an instant, she was half a head taller than him. Under the water, her tender skin touched his fiery body, and this ambiguous action felt like they were engaging in something intimate while swimming, especially since Lily wasn’t wearing underwear. How exciting! Lily looked down at him miserably, “Why don’t you just drown me already?” Her soft chest brushed against his collarbone, and Maxwell whispered in a low voice, “Hold on tight with your arms if you don’t want to sink.” In the water, the man lifted her white coat, making her blush. She lowered her head and whispered in both embarrassment and frustration, “What are you doing?” “Helping you put your underwear on,” Maxwell replied, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. “I’ll do it myself!” Lily muttered softly. “Then don’t wear it. It’ll look better that way.” "..." In the end, she had no choice but to cling tightly to his neck. His rough fingers, with small calluses, unintentionally brushed against her skin. Even in the water, Lily could feel a warm friction spreading over her body. It was supposed to be a simple task, but it seemed like he was deliberately taking his time, prolonging the moment. Lily could only focus her attention on her son, Liam Bennett, who was practicing swimming with a coach not far away. After a while, she asked in a low voice, “Are you done yet?” “The strap broke. Let me tie it for now, and next time, don’t wear anything so thin.” “Hurry up!!” Lily was on the verge of tears, stop touching me already. “Quit complaining!” Maxwell glanced up at her, “Who do you think I am? The chairman of the biggest corporation in the business world, I’ve never done something like this before, so how could I do it quickly? If you’re so good at it, do it yourself!” Lily blushed, whispering, “Just tie it properly, and stop touching me there!” Maxwell looked up with a faint smile on his lips. “Lily, are you reminding me not to touch that part of your body?” Frustrated, she reached out and tugged at his hair forcefully. Maxwell winced in pain. This woman must have grown up in a violent household—her words were innocent, but her actions were crude, like the leader of a street gang. The first time they met, she slapped him; the second time, she kicked him off the bed. Now, she dared to pull his hair. If he spoiled her any further, she’d probably twist his ear and sit on his head next! Maxwell gave a firm slap to Lily’s beautiful, fair backside, “Only I can handle you!” With that, he suddenly knelt down, and in a flash, both of them were submerged in the water. Before she could catch her breath, he lifted his head and kissed her red lips. Underwater, Lily’s eyes widened in shock, the thrill sending a shiver through her body, rendering her weak. Instinctively, she clung tighter to his shoulders. He kissed her fervently, his slippery tongue slipping past her pearly teeth, teasing her soft tongue as if they had known each other for a long time. At that moment, Lily snapped back to reality, her hands frantically beating against his chest, but Maxwell held her firmly, continuing to kiss her passionately. His hot breath ignited strange feelings inside her, shifting from tension to a dreamy haze, ready to surrender to the heat of the moment. Only when she was about to run out of air did he finally let her surface. Lily had never realized how important oxygen was to her. She greedily inhaled, taking deep breaths. Liam, who had somehow made it back to shore, was now happily clapping his little hands. He waved toward Lily with a bright smile, calling out loudly, “Lily, I’m hungry!” After all that swimming, no wonder he was hungry. Lily had wanted to slap Maxwell, but thinking twice, she realized that without him holding her in the deep water, she would barely be able to take a step. In the end, she could only glance back at the man who had just kissed her. He smirked at her, satisfied with her cautious expression. Feeling pleased, Maxwell wrapped his arms around her and swam toward the shore, his mood surprisingly light. She had assumed that once they got back on land, Maxwell would head to the room to clean up and then go off to deal with business. But to her surprise, he had the leisure to stay with her and Liam for afternoon tea and dinner. “Chairman Thornton, as the CEO of a multinational company, are you really not busy?” Lily asked, a hint of disdain in her voice. Maxwell’s lips twitched before he smiled and replied, “I’m very busy, but I always make time for family.” With that, he leaned down to kiss the child sitting beside him and gently asked, “Do you want more, son? Is the shrimp tasty?” This must be Liam’s favorite dish, as he eagerly nodded his head, enjoying it immensely. It was clear that since Liam had a new father, he had been much happier. Even Lily noticed the change. Watching her son and Maxwell happily choose food and eat together, she suddenly felt like the odd one out. But as long as her son was happy, that was all that mattered.
