It seemed that Felis had run far enough from the bankrupt butcher's village. The damp temperature of the ground mixed with black sand splashed at her feet. It seemed that just as the tide had receded, Felis arrived at the beach. The sand was still wet, a magical bioluminescent blue light glowed in the crevice where Felis had stepped.
Felis scanned the surrounding coral mounds at random. Pick one that has a niche and maybe they can use it for the night. The sky is too dark to determine whether this beach escapes the reach of tourism. Even though she could see in the dark, Felis, who was used to the human way of life, chose a cave that was quite hidden. Felis counted how many times she had to turn between the thickets and large Bodi trees and how many times she had to jump over steep rocks.
The cave she chose was nothing more than a dark, dead-end alcove in the middle of three large rocks. The alcove is quite difficult to access except for climbing then jumping down. But for a while it's enough for shelter from the pursuit of the villagers.
Still on full alert, Felis swept the entire surface of the cave, making sure there were no predators apart from those who were hiding. She still carried Candramawa at her back. Candramawa is still breathing, just don't open her eyes temporarily. Until Felis put it on a mound of rock which was quite dry in the cave.
She leaned close to Candramawa's face, watching her twitching eyes and rumbling stomach. Felis stretched her hands then wiped the sweat off Candramawa's forehead. Occasionally Candramawa looked shivering.
"Freezing?" asked Felix.
Candramawa did not move.
Felix nodded. “Give me ten minutes. I'll look for wood to warm you." Without waiting, Felis jumped out and came back even before the ten minutes she promised had passed. Felis arranged the dry wood like heaping grass for livestock in Weesa village.
Felis misses home, but doesn't dare enough to imagine that her mother will be in danger if she returns. She quickly threw away the daydream, not wanting to be too sad, she had better focus on what really happened to Candramawa. With a few flicks of the pitted aisikla, she managed to burn a branch and put it under another.
"You're awake," she said without turning to Candramawa.
The girl in question didn't speak yet, she shifted her body so she could get up and sat next to Felis. But one leg was too sore to stand. She groaned, making Felis turn around and quickly leaned against the cave wall.
Felis could not hide her worry any longer. "Where hurts?" Felis asked, her finger moving from the heel, massaging it all the way to Candramawa's calf, who automatically screamed when Felis' forefinger touched the scar from yesterday's gunshot.
“The wound is gone, but the bullet is still inside. Maybe I should take it out,” said Candramawa, grinning. Her face was pale, the light of the wood burning from her chin to her cheeks. Makes shadows around her eyes. The girl looked more like a ghost now than a Seeka girl. Felis sighed, she wanted to help, but didn't dare to offer herself.
"Then take out the bullets, I will prepare the meat for you." Felis looked at Candramawa who was now also looking at her with prejudice. “A deer passed in front of that house. I'm serious, not human flesh.” Felix explained.
Slowly, Candramawa nodded. Picked up her aching leg and ripped her pants. Before Aisikla penetrated the skin of her calf, she made sure Felis wasn't watching her. Felix turned around. Her hand raised, she moved away from the presence of Candramawa.
Felis took out several pieces of meat from her bag. Cut the red lumps one by one. With full precision and concentration. Even though her nose was filled with the scent of Candramawa's fresh blood, Felis tortured herself by trying to ignore nothing but the venison in front of her.
Candramawa winced, her pain could no longer be held back. She had been looking for the bullet, but could not find it. She can indeed recover very quickly from wounds, but that ability is not accompanied by the capacity to withstand pain and Candrama has never been shot in her life. Maybe the wound was now inflamed in her flesh, she would have fainted if it wasn't for Felis standing near her right now and making Candramawa try to stay conscious.
"I help?" Felix hesitated. "I won't bite you."
Candramawa thought for a moment, then nodded resignedly as a sign of agreement. She bit her sleeve as Felis' fingers forced their way into the incision she made herself on her calf. She idly thought about the end of her life if suddenly Felis was tempted to eat her right now, to divert the pain.
On the other hand, Felis held her breath. Searching for the impudent metal ore that made her have to endure this torment. She didn't like hearing her best friend wailing like a little cat in the attic of the house, nor could she allow herself to rummage around in Candramawa's calf for too long.
"Meet!" Felis said as she raised her fingertip. An object the size of an abacus wedged in there.
Candramawa immediately pulled her calf. Tying it with the tear marks of her pants. Watching Felis with wary eyes. While Felis, looked at her hands. Candramawa's dark blood flowed down from her fingers, making Felis swallow her saliva.
Felis seemed to be pulled into another dimension in the middle of her consciousness. The more she took a breath, the more screamed passion in her body. Her heart was beating fast. Her breathing was getting erratic.
"Felis, listen to me." Candramawa touched Felis' shoulder. But Felis retreated to the other end of the cave.
“I can, I can. I can control myself, Candramawa," she said nervously. Felis hid her hands behind her body. The position of her body turned her back to Candramawa, Felis pressed her face against the wall of the cave boundary.
Three times Candramawa heard Felis deliberately banging her head on the cave wall. As if that way her mind would be distracted. Then Felix's shoulders shook. Her hands were squeezing each other until her knuckles were now pale. In a moment, aisikla was sticking out like needles without control. Stabbed her wrist. Blood slowly seeped down, splattering the cave floor.
Candramawa covered her mouth with both hands so that no words would come out. She didn't want to distract Felis. She appreciated Felis' effort to control herself. How is Felis now getting used to restraining herself and choosing what to hunt and what not. After a few moments, Felis' shoulders relaxed. Candramawa relieved her breath.
"Felis..." Candramawa persuaded her friend again.
“Mom… My eyes are sore.” Felis said softly. She held her face as if to gouge out her eyes.
“Felis, are you all right?” asked Candramawa.
Felis turned to Candramawa slowly. Candramawa focused her eyes on the girl in front of her. Candramawa watched Felis' irises change. The circles within Felis' eyes widened, the circles were gray. A red dot resembling a pupil perched in the center.
"God!" Candramawa was aghast.
