Chapter 6 SMALL TROUBLE

Zero's POV
I opened the door of the classroom, immediately catching the attention of our classmates. Miyuki and I walked inside, staying near the door, when our classmates started asking questions.
“Did you talk to them properly?” one guy sitting near the door asked.
“Did they agree to join us?” another guy near the window, beside the door we entered, followed up.
I shook my head and spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear.
“We didn’t make it earlier because something happened. We got into a fight with two second-years just a while ago,” I said calmly to avoid shocking them.
“Did you win against them?” one of our classmates asked, making me look at him.
“Of course, because I’m Zero,” I said confidently.
They started cheering inside the classroom, shouting my name, which I didn’t expect. I had this kind of following in this school.
“Zero! Zero! Zero!” they chanted, and I raised my left hand for them to stop, which they quickly followed.
I turned to Miyuki, telling her to treat her nose since it was already swelling.
She complied and asked for a band-aid, alcohol, and Betadine from our classmates in the room.
“Miyuki, I’ll step out for a while to walk around the school,” I said to her and our classmates.
“Go ahead, but be careful. You could get into a fight at any moment,” she said seriously, making me nod in agreement.
I walked out of the room and started wandering down the hallway. I noticed the two second-years lying around earlier weren’t there anymore.
Third Person’s POV
15 minutes earlier
I woke up and realized I had fallen after that guy’s kick hit my temple during our fight.
The pain I felt in my head was intense, especially since that punk hit a nerve. I swore I’d make him pay for what he did to me.
I turned to look in another direction and saw my companion lying on the ground near the hallway.
Even though I was still dizzy and my body ached, I hurried over to him.
“Hey, man, wake up!” I urged him, hoping he’d get up.
I saw his fingers twitch, and slowly, he opened his eyes.
“What happened?” he asked while still lying on the ground.
“We got beat, man, instead of us being the ones doing the beating,” I told him as I grabbed his hand to help him stand.
“I see. I didn’t know what happened next after Miyuki’s right kick hit between my jaw and ear. It still hurts a lot,” he replied slowly since he couldn’t talk properly.
I invited him to head back to the second floor where our crew was so we could gather them and get revenge on those first-years.
That guy better watch out. I’ll make sure to put him in his place.
We made it to the second floor and went straight to our room, opened the door, and entered.
Our crew noticed us and saw the bruises on our faces.
“What happened to you? Who did that?” asked one of our fat crewmates, who was sitting down.
“Two first-years. One of them is Miyuki, and she’s with some guy who looks like a new transfer here,” I answered his question.
“Do you want to get back at those first-years who did this to you, bro?” he asked me with a grin.
“Of course, that’s why I’m here, to ask for your help,” I told him, and he stood up to call the others.
As we went down the stairs, I spotted that first-year I fought earlier walking on the ground floor.
Zero's POV
Back to the present
I was walking around the ground floor, circling the area to familiarize myself with the surroundings since I went straight to my room earlier, on my first day here.
I noticed the school was messy, with two-by-fours in one corner and metal pipes inside a blue drum container near the building on the ground floor.
I looked up to see how tall the building was. It was only three stories, with a rooftop as the fourth floor. A large flag hung from the rooftop down to the second floor, with graffiti in the middle that said “Lowki.”
As I was staring at the graffiti, I heard a familiar voice call out to me from my right side.
I turned and saw the punk I had fought earlier, now with his crew.
I could already feel that this was going to turn into another fight because of the way they were glaring at me.
“Hey, first-year! You think you’re off the hook after what happened earlier? Let’s see if you can still stand now,” he said arrogantly, bolstered by his crew.
I counted how many they were. Seven of them. I was alone.
This is the first time in my life that I’ve faced this many opponents. I guess I need to get used to it because things won’t get easier for me here.
I saw one of them grab a two-by-four, the guy I beat earlier, while I glanced at the blue drum container filled with metal pipes.
Suddenly, a guy with a long chin shouted for five of them to charge at me.
I ran toward the drum, quickly pulling out a metal pipe, gripping it in my left hand, and taking a fighting stance.
They kept coming at me, and when I saw one guy on the left within my reach, I swung the pipe hard at his right knee, making him kneel and unable to stand.
One down...
I turned to my right and saw one of them punch me in the jaw, making my head snap to the left.
His crew followed up, one kicking me in the left side, but I endured the pain and managed to strike one of them.
I lifted the metal pipe with force and hit the guy who kicked me in the temple, knocking him to the ground.
Two down...
The remaining three stopped and looked at their unconscious friend, whose head was bleeding. They knew they couldn’t just charge at me, or I’d crack their skulls.
I stared at the three of them while one guy I hit in the knee earlier suddenly grabbed me from behind. The remaining three started moving toward me.
I elbowed the guy behind me in the face several times until he finally let go.
Once free, I turned to face the three, but one of them kicked me in the face. I dropped the metal pipe from my left hand and fell to the ground.
I felt dizzy after the back of my head hit the floor, but I noticed one of them pick up the metal pipe and approach me.
My eyes widened when I saw him swing the pipe toward a vulnerable part of my body. I quickly rolled to the left and stood up to dodge the hit.
I charged at the guy holding the metal pipe and punched him in the face, hitting his nose with my left hand. Then I hit him in the gut with my right hand and elbowed his jaw with my left, knocking him down and making him drop the pipe.
The remaining two rushed at me, but I didn’t show any fear and fought back.
I raised my guard to my face, ready to block any incoming punches.
The guy on the left struck first with his left hand, but I dodged to the right and punched him in the chest. I then kicked his right leg, hitting him in the gut and making him stagger back.
The guy on my right followed up with a punch to my jaw, pulling me close to him and hitting me in the stomach with his left hand.
I retaliated by smashing my head into his face, making him groan in pain. I grabbed his head and slammed it into my left knee repeatedly until he passed out.
I saw that only four were left, but the remaining three, including the fat one, weren’t moving from a distance. Two of them were still holding two-by-fours.
I was already exhausted from everything that happened, but I knew it was far from over.
I turned to face the last guy near me and saw in his eyes that he was reaching his limit too.
I rushed at him, ducking low when I got close, surprising him. I swung a left uppercut, hitting his chin with all my strength, then delivered a final blow to his left side.
“Take this!” I shouted as I punched him hard in the left rib, making him collapse in front of me.
I stood there, catching my breath from everything that had happened. I turned to the three remaining guys, and the fat one finally spoke.
“Go and beat him,” he said to the two guys holding two-by-fours, and they began walking toward me.
To be continued.....
