Chapter 8 REST DAY

Zero's POV
Slowly, I opened my eyes, and all I could see was a white ceiling. I looked around and realized I was inside a hospital room.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Miyuki walked in, carrying food and some fruit.
“Oh, you’re awake,” she greeted me, seeing that I had finally come to.
I just looked at her, thinking about what happened and recalling the events of the past few days.
“How are you feeling?” she asked again, but I didn’t answer.
“What happened? Why am I in the hospital?” I asked her instead.
“You lost consciousness after fighting with the second years, two days ago. You just woke up now,” she replied.
That means I’ve been unconscious for two days since the fight.
I touched the back of my head and noticed there was a bandage, but the pain was gone.
“Ever since you defeated the second years, your name has spread among the first and second years, Zero,” she said, making me turn my gaze toward her.
“What do you mean?” I asked again.
“There were some students who watched while you were fighting them that day,” she explained.
“But you still need to be careful, even if you’re getting known, Zero, because more people will come after you,” she warned.
“Especially when the third years hear about it, they won’t let someone like you go unchallenged,” she added.
She’s right. I’ll need to lay low once I get out of here because things won’t be easy for us anymore.
“How are our friends?” I asked Miyuki.
“They’re fine. The school’s been quiet since what you did, so no one has the courage to mess with us first-years right now. But I don’t know how long that peace will last,” she answered.
“The important thing is you need to recover because you’re slowly getting recognized,” she added.
Miyuki’s right. I need to get stronger so that when I return to Taesan High, I can continue my plan. The second years better be ready because I’m not done with them yet.
“Here, eat something so you can regain your strength,” she said, handing me the food she brought.
I accepted it without a word and started eating, determined to get out of this hospital and rest properly at my place.
“You still haven’t answered my question, Zero. Are you feeling better?” she asked again as I finished the meal she brought.
“I’m feeling better now, Miyuki. My head doesn’t hurt anymore,” I responded quietly.
“That’s good. I’ll call the doctor after you finish eating to see if you can be discharged,” she said.
After I finished eating, Miyuki did as she said and called the doctor in charge of me. He said I could leave today since the wound on the back of my head had closed.
Miyuki and I left the hospital, and I realized it was already evening. I also noticed that the hospital was just two blocks away from Taesan High.
The doctors here must be loaded since a lot of injured students from Taesan High are rushed to this hospital because of all the troublemakers.
Miyuki offered to walk me home, and I didn’t refuse, so she could know where I lived in case she needed to find me easily.
“Your place is really close to the school, Zero. It’s only a block away from my house too.”
“Is that so,” I replied briefly as we stood in front of my apartment.
“Go inside and rest. I’ll leave once you’re in,” she said.
“Alright, thanks, see you tomorrow at school,” I said before going in.
She nodded and left, while I entered the apartment and was greeted by the quiet surroundings.
I live alone, and the place is small, with no separate rooms and only a few belongings. But it has everything I need for my daily life.
I lay down on my bed and thought about the past few days. It’s only my first day at Taesan High, and I’ve already been in several fights.
But it’s not all bad. They know how strong I am now, and they won’t mess with me easily. But I can’t let my guard down.
I also started thinking about the large flag I saw hanging on the Taesan High building, with the name “Lowki” written on it.
I have a feeling that name has something to do with everything happening at school. Maybe it’s a student gang or just the name of a person.
If someone managed to control all of Taesan High, could I do it too, alone? Or did they succeed because they had allies?
I wonder who really runs Taesan High. Could I defeat them and become the number one?
So many questions are running through my head, but I can’t seem to find any answers. But one thing is certain: I’ll find all the answers with my fists.
Maybe I’ll just ask Miyuki tomorrow about the things I want to know.
I slowly closed my eyes, exhausted from all the thinking, and rested, knowing that I’d be tired again tomorrow.
To be continued.....
