I and Joanna sat in awe inside the lavish limousine with big eyes and mouth agape because of its smell and richness. We took two glasses of champagne which tasted sweet and bitter. I hesitantly took the glass when Joanna poured it for me. I don't know if we are supposed to touch anything.
“I think one glass is enough Joanna and I don't think we can finish the entire bottle from someone’s car without their permission,” I said, putting my glass aside.
“ Why are you so bored? Fay this is not someone’s car and this is not a car but a freaking limousine so we have to have champagne.” she gulped the entire contents of her glass before going for some more.
“I think that is enough joanna for now and we have to be on our best behavior so we can't embarrass Ezra in front of everyone.'' I gave her a look saying it's final.
“Okay mom whatever you say.” she mocked me before sulking and pouting. She sometimes behaves like a child and she looks so funny. We sat in silence until we reached the place. The party is at a hall which is so big in our town and the credit goes to Irwins because they built it and gave it away to the charity where fundraising happens.
We were ushered from the car and it makes me confused because there are no cameras and people outside the venue. It's not like I want them welcoming us but naturally, there will be cameras and everything.
"Umm, are we at the right place?" Joanna wondered loudly.
" I think so because I have read that the msg consisted of the party venue received from Ezra," I replied to her wondering.
" But why is no one welcoming us?"
" I am wondering the same thing, Joanna." I scanned my surroundings and looked at the man who is ushering us to move forward and asked him,
" Excuse me! Is this the place where Irwin's event is taking place?." I questioned.
" Yes, ma'am you came to the right place." He answered by gesturing us to enter a door that is dark by the way.
"Umm, but why are there no cameras and people outside the venue, you know how parties and fashion shows are like." I laughed awkwardly asking him about it.
" Ma'am Mr.Irwin asked us to escort you from the back door so you can be safe without people crowding you and making you uncomfortable." He explained the reason why there was no one outside and we were being escorted inside from the back door.
"Awwwww, How considerate! I don't know if Ezra has a caring side." Joanna smirked after making that comment.
"Shut up! Joey." I smirked back using her nickname which she hates the most and made her shut up.
We successfully entered the hall and the hall inside is lavish with all the lights and people who wore expensive clothes and the rich smell.
My eyes scanned for Ezra and I know he will be wearing the same color as mine my heart raced on the thought of how he would react seeing me in this dress. Will he like it or will he not. Will he still have the friendly look in his eyes that he used to cover the look or the look in his eyes that makes me clench my thighs so hard with need?
I want to see his reaction tonight. If he has the look which I am waiting for then I will confess my feelings to him and see what his reaction is. I know I will regret it if he rejects me but I need to do this, one last time before taking any type of decision.
I took a deep breath before scanning the room once again for Ezra but I can't seem to find him. I am tired of being searching for him and I am hella hungry right now.
" Joanna, there is no Ezra. Can we please go and find some food? I am so hungry." I laughed sheepishly at Joanna's Expression.
" We can't stuff our mouths now Fay, we have to mingle first." Ugh! Food is before everything and I can't let Joanna come between me and my food.
" You go and mingle with people, I go and mingle with food," I smirked at her glaringly and went to find food instead of Ezra.
I find food stalls at the back of the crowd and oh my God, there is everything from sweets to bread and everything. I took a plate and took some salad first then some sandwiches and a glass of juice before looking for a place to sit and eat peacefully.
I finally found a place and sat eating from my plate and looking around checking out everything but I still can't find Ezra. Where is he and why is he taking so long to come?
I finished eating half of my plate and the fashion show has been running for a long time and Joanna joined me with her plate in hand and sat down beside me. We were enjoying ourselves talking about how we will look in those dresses.
There was an announcement at the end before the fashion show ended and the party starts.
" Let's welcome Mr.Irwin and his date of the night." A man announced and I thought why is he saying Mr.Irwin and his date of the night? Instead of Mr & Mrs. Irwin? Maybe Mrs. Irwin didn't make it today.
My laughter died in my throat when I saw who Mr.Irwin is and who the date of the night is! How could he do this to me? How? How could he give me hopes to crush them in an instant?
I never asked him for anything and I never asked him to invite me to this stupid event and never asked him to send me this stupid dress and chain. Then why?
Why does he always break me? Why am I the only one who suffers in the end?
Tears pooled in my eyes seeing them on the stage standing so close in matching outfits and with big smiles.
I never asked for his lies and I never asked for this betrayal. Maybe this is nothing for him but for me this is everything.
His eyes met mine and I didn't wipe my tears, I want him to see them and feel the hurt I am feeling and I want him to know this time that he has hurt me and I am not going to forgive him this time.
Maybe the decision I took is correct and it's time to implement that. It's time to save my heart more than anything.
