SCARLETT'S POV
"Imogen, It's a pleasure to meet you at the office. Earlier, our brother was kind enough to show me around the company." I said, trying to see how she'll react to me starting a conversation with her although I know she won't disappoint me. Because I'm aware she's clearly having it hard accepting me and well...what do I say to that?
"I don't remember asking you anything. Do I look like I care about what you do with your life? Well, just stay off my lane and keep off from what belongs to me! You get that?! Because I won't sit still and watch you take them. It's a promise sisss." She said frowningly, making emphasis on the 'sis'.
Didn't I say it?...She didn't disappoint me!
"Still finding it hard, huh?" I chuckled. "Well, it's your choice. Too bad because I thought we'll make a great team of siblings. I'm not surprised though." I said, gave her a once-over and walked away.
I actually don't have her time. Lexi and I got business to do.
NARRATIVE
Kyle stared with a lazy smirk at Ashton in particular, gently watching his expression.
From his observations, he knew his offer was easy-peasy for the chairman to think about since it's something that he'll definitely do soon. However, Ashton might not necessarily be the one at the befitting end of the rope as he now had a really strong opponent to consider if he really want to be CEO.
Kyle was smart, he clearly had his own intentions too as to why he'll only work with a CEO. Considering the huge benefits he stands to gain if he'll agree to partner with JP's Enterprise on their excellent project XR, he didn't have to be concerned as to who to work with right?
Ashton couldn't contain his rage again so he immediately exploded.
"Chairman Kwan you have no right whatsoever, to try and dictate for our company how and when to appoint the next CEO. It's something between JP's Enterprise, you can keep your rude condition to your..."
"Ashton," Jamie Grey looked warningly at his son and Ashton stopped talking, swallowing hard afterwards.
In his opinion, Chairman Kwan was being rude in trying to interfere. But seeing how his father seemed so compose after initially looking a bit surprised, Ashton knew he had to calm down and follow his father's command. Looking back at Chairman Kwan, Jamie Grey was smart enough to know something seemed off.
The Chairman of Song and Kwan Group was rather young and seem to have taken a liking for his daughter Heidi, if his eyes didn't lie to him and his instinct was right on point at the moment. As an experienced man, Jamie wouldn't deny there was something else in the matter between Kyle's condition to partner on the project with his company. However, the reality of this bothered him greatly due to some reasons.
After only considering the matter for some seconds, he finally stated what he had to say to Chairman Kwan's condition.
"You're right Chairman Kwan. The position of CEO in our company have been quite vacant for long. However, we don't have the intention to rush things concerning appointment of a new CEO as we suffered a bit of a loss due to the former CEO's misbehaviors. As any other company would do, we are making sure to not repeat such mistake in appointment again. This being said, we can pause on the project XR partnership with your company until we have a new CEO as you've required. It may take a while to decide so it's okay if your company chooses not to partner with us in this project again." Jamie Grey said and Ashton agreed instantly.
JP's Enterprise wasn't a small company to start with so there's no possible way they'll have another company tell them how to run their turf.
Kyle could only smile at his words.
"It's not a big deal Chairman Grey. We'll decide on the next step after there's a new CEO in office. Thank you for your time." He said as he stood up from his seat.
"Thank you too, Chairman Kwan." Jamie Grey said and Ashton watched the both shook hands.
The moment Kyle was gone from the office, Ashton hurriedly said to his father.
"Father, don't you think he's being so demanding?" He asked and Jamie simply smiled.
"I think he's a lot better than I had imagined."

Finding out that his daughter and son were getting along more than he'd thought, Jamie Grey felt an immerse feeling of relief. He knew Imogen had her mother's character, so it'll take quite a while, lots of effort or even a miracle before she'll finally accept that Scarlett is her elder sister.
However, he worried greatly for Heidi, as he always call her. There's a lot she must come to terms with immediately she becomes the CEO of JP's enterprise. A lot she might have to give up for the sake of her birth. He feared that his beautiful daughter might never live a carefree life like she's enjoyed previously.
While Jamie was in his deep thoughts, a knock came on his office door.
"Come in," He said with grief, lacing his voice while he stared down the city from the window-door of his penthouse.
Finley walked in that moment and gave a low bow.
"Sir Chairman, Minister Bryant just sent in a package for you." He announced.
My nemesis, are you here already? Jamie said within him.
Heaving heavily, he turned around and stared with heavy eyes at his PA.
"Finley, you can just send it to the review team. Given his qualifications it's no doubt he'll pass the review. When they are done let me know and I'll make a final decision on this matter." He instructed.
"Yes, Sir Chairman." Finley gave a low bow again before he exited the room, leaving Jamie Grey once more to his reminisce.
"Heidi, how do I plead your forgiveness? Your father is really sorry for dragging you into his mess." He muttered.

The sky was devoid of the moon or even the stars and was a blanket of total darkness when Harriet stood at the door of an old cottage, in the outskirts of Birmingham city.
"You remember your promise to me years ago, Otto? Well, I've come to make you fulfill it!" She declared.
